One-Direction Transmission

Uni-directional, only works FROM a device with DisplayPort to an HDMI- supported screen, thus cannot support devices that do not have DisplayPort (e.g. Apple products, PlayStation, Xbox, etc.)

Compatibility

This is a Passive adapter, not an Active one. If you want to connect it with a DP dock/hub/KVM, please check whether the device supports dp++. *Docking stations/hubs that do not support dp++ need to use an Active adapter/cable. Generally, we do not recommend using extra hub/docking/KVM, which is often prone to problems.

Resolution

Supported resolutions and refresh rates of the cable are entirely dependent on the specification of the following devices Requirements for 4K(3840×2160)30Hz

If either of the above requirement is not fulfilled, you cannot enjoy the 4K at a 30 Hz refresh rate.

How well do DisplayPort to HDMI adapters work?****

There is normally no loss in quality when using such a DP to HDMI cable. Note however that this simple transition only applies to single-link DVI signals, so up to HD resolution.

Is it okay to use DisplayPort to HDMI?****

The answer is yes and no. For the record, the Display Port signal is not compatible with HDMI. If the DisplayPort output is a Dual mode DisplayPort then it can recognize and adjust the signal to HDMI when a passive adapter cable is connected.

Why is my HDMI to DisplayPort cable not detecting my monitor?****

If the DisplayPort option is selectable but no signal appears on the screen, please unplug the cable and plug it back in the make the monitor re-detect the connection. If the condition persists, try to connect the monitor using HDMI to make sure the monitor functions properly, then try DisplayPort again.

What is different about DisplayPort to HDMI adapter?****

HDMI 2.0 supports a maximum bandwidth of 18 Gbps, which is enough to handle 4K resolution at up to 60Hz, or 1080p at up to 240Hz. In comparison, DisplayPort 1.4 has a maximum bandwidth of 32.4Gbps, which opens up a much greater resolution and frame rate potential.

Does DisplayPort to HDMI adapter carry audio?****

Yes, DisplayPort supports multi-channel audio and many advanced audio features. DisplayPort to HDMI adapters also include the ability to support HDMI audio.

Why does DisplayPort to HDMI need USB?****

HDMI does not output power on the connector, so you need a power supply for the chip that collects up HDMI data and puts out DisplayPort packets. That is what the USB connector is doing. It is powering the active electronics in the adaptor.
