To reach 1Gbps(1000Mbps) with no trouble, please make sure to use with CAT Se,
CAT 6, or above Ethernet cable.
*Note: CAT Se is not compatible with 1000BASE-TX.
Notice
a. Transmission speed is determined by USB version, Ethernet cable category,
and internet bandwidth. Please ensure all of them can reach to 1Gbps (1000
Mbps).
b. Drive free, no installation necessary.
c. Cannot share internet and use as hotspot/router.
d. Cannot use for charging.

Troubleshooting

Network Connection Failure
a. Please check your LED indicator light:
Connection Indicator-Green: When power goes through, the green light would light constantly.
Signal Indicator-Yellow: When data is transferred, the yellow light would flicker.
b. When connecting, make sure that the network cable is inserted in place, you will hear a “click” lock sound when inserted in place.
c. Please wipe the plug with dry pads, dust accumulation would cause weak connection.
d. In some extreme cases, operation system will block the automatic installation, you may download the drive from REAL TEK official website (see below) and install it manually.

e. Reboot your device and ensure you are not connecting to any wireless network. -
Low Transmission Speed
a. To achieve 1000Mbps, firstly please make sure to use CAT6 & above Ethernet cables. Secondly, please make sure the USB-A port is 3.0 and above, or the USB-C port is USB 3.1 Gen 1 and above because the USB 2.0 port can not achieve 1000Mbps.
b. When accessing sites on the internet, the band width provided by your internet service provider will likely determine your ultimate speed. If you want to reach 1000Mbps, please make sure the bandwidth of your internet meets the standard. -
Disconnection
a. If your network is disconnected in sleeping/power-save mode, please follow the steps below:
– Press Windows logo key + X key together and choose Device Manager.
– Expand Network Adapters, right-click Realtek USB GbE Family Controller, click Properties.
– Click the Power Management tab, and then clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box.
b. Please try the solutions of ‘Troubleshooting 1: Network Connection Failure’.

Over-Heat
Due to the high-speed network transmission, some heat will be generated during work, which is normal and will not damage the product. The aluminum shell design of the Ethernet adapter helps the motherboard to dissipate heat and pro tect the internal electronic circuits, so it may get a bit warm.
