The PSSS1 can support up to 20 lbs.
What is the difference between the PSSS1 and the PSAS1?****
The PSAS1 has a wider base but can support up to 30 lbs.
Can I use this product with my computer speakers?****
Yes, this product can be used with computer speakers. However, please note that computer speakers are usually not designed for use with high-end audio equipment. If you are using this product with your computer speakers, you may experience some distortion or other sound quality issues. If you have any concerns or questions about your computer speaker system, please contact our Technical Support line at 1-800-556-6806 or customer service at supportus@perlesmith.com (US)/supportca@perlesmith.com (CA).
What is the best height for speaker stands?****
The speaker stands should bring the speaker to a height such that the tweeter is at roughly ear level. This means a stand height of between typically 24-28”. The stand itself should be rigid and have a base area large enough so that the speaker will not easily tip over.
Does speaker stands reduce vibration?****
“The loudspeaker generates sound pressure which can make wooden floors vibrate. Platforms and stands keep those vibrations from getting back to the speaker – which is important for their performance.
Does speaker stands affect the sound?****
Much more than simply a bit of furniture to raise your speakers to the correct height stands play an incredibly significant role in the overall sound quality, providing your speakers of choice with the perfect environment to operate. The difference in sound clarity and accuracy can truly be night and day.
What are the characteristics of a good speaker stand?****
Weight rating, construction materials, top plate construction, base and feat, height, and cable management capabilities should all be considered when shopping for speaker stands.
How much sand do you put in speaker stands?****
Some speakers will only need a half-full stand, some will need it full to the brim, and some will only need three-quarters or two-thirds. A hollow stand means it’s possible to make up for where your speakers lack.
How much should I spend on speaker stands?****
Typically you can expect to spend between 20 and 30% of your speaker purchase price on appropriate stands.
What is the best material to fill speaker stands?****
I use sterilized play sand from the home club. Easy to fill the stand with, doesn’t make noise when it vibrates and is cheap. Use the sterile stuff so no weeds grow! Sand is good.
What sand to use for speaker stands?****
Filling Audio Bastion Silica Sand into your speaker stands will improve the performance even more. The extra weight provides a solid foundation for your speakers by minimizing the vibrations.
