Convection Heater

Before using for the first time
Fold out the page with the illustrations and make yourself familiar with the functions of the convector heater before using it for the first time. Please refer in addition to the operating instructions below and the safety advice. Use the appliance only as described and for the indicated purpose. Keep these instructions in a safe place. If you pass the heater on to anyone else, please ensure you also pass on all the documentation.

Areas of use
The appliance is intended for creating a warm air in closed, dry rooms. Other uses or modifications to the appliance shall be considered as improper use and could give rise considerable dangers.
The manufacturer will not accept liability for loss or damage arising from improper use. The convector is designed for domestic use only and is not suitable for commercial purposes.

Safety advice
This safety advice is an important part of these operating instructions and must be observed every time electrical appliances are used. The advice and instructions will help you to avoid serious injury and damage, so read carefully through the following information concerning safety and proper use.

RISK OF LOSS OF LIFE AND INJURY TO INFANTS AND CHILDREN!
Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging materials or the device. There is a risk of suffocation or loss of life from electric shock. Children often underestimate the dangers associated with electrical devices. Always keep the device out of reach of children.

  • Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
  • Children aged 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.
  • Caution: Some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised.

To avoid risk of death from electric shock

  • Do not operate the device if the mains lead or the mains socket is damaged
    CAUTION! Damaged mains leads present a serious danger to life from electric shock. If the appliance does not work perfectly or is damaged, have it examined and repaired immediately, but only at the service centre

  • Check the mains lead regularly for damage or the effects of ageing. In order to avoid a hazardous situation, a damaged mains lead must always be replaced by the manufacturer, its representative or an equivalent qualified person.

  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, it’s service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazardous situation.

  • Protect the mains lead from sharp edges, pressure and hot surfaces.

  • Do not use the appliance outside. Make sure that the mains lead never gets damp or wet during operation.

  • Do not switch the appliance on if there is visible damage (e.g. cracks or breaks) or if you think that the appliance may have been damaged (e.g. after it has been dropped).

  •  Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, shower or swimming pool.

To avoid danger to life from environmental factors

  • In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater

  • Do not place the appliance out in the rain. Do not use it in a humid or wet environment.

  • Do not use the appliance if there are glowing, hot or spark-generating parts inside it. Do not use the appliance in the vicinity of flammable or explosive liquids or gases.

  • Always position or attach the device in such a way that combustible articles cannot catch fire.

  • Always position or attach the device out of reach of people bathing, showering or swimming.

  • Do not position the device directly below an electrical wall socket.
    WARNING! Do not cover. Make sure that the appliance does not become covered by towels, curtains or similar objects as this could lead to overheating. You must ensure that the air inlet and outlet openings (2 and 5) are always unobstructed.

  • Do not install the appliance immediately below a socket-outlet.

Assembly

Attaching the feet (refer to Fig. B)

  1. Lay the convector heater carefully on its side.
  2.  Place the feet (4) under the convector heater in such a way that the screw holes are correctly aligned.
  3.  Tighten the screws (4) until they are hand-tight. The feet (7) should now be securely attached. Note: When deciding on the position of the appliance please refer to the safety advice above and the information in the section “Bringing the appliance into use”.

Operation

Before use

  • Before using the device for the first time, check that the mains voltage corresponds with that indicated on the device.
  • Also check that your electrical mains system has adequate capacity for the output indicated on the device.
  • Make sure that the mains lead does not present a trip hazard. Always direct the mains lead away from the rear of the device.
  • Protect the mains lead from sharp edges, pressure and hot surfaces.

Bringing the appliance into use
The voltage at the power supply must match that shown on the rating plate (220-240V ~ 50Hz) on the device.

Switching on and off

DANGER OF BURNS! The device becomes hot during operations. Make sure no one, especially a child or pet, is placed in any danger by the operation of the device.
Do not touch the ventilation slots (2) and the device itself (5). Let it cool down completely first.

Operation

  1. The convector has an On/Off switch. To switch the convector on, put the On/Off switch (1) on the left-hand side of the appliance into position “I” (750 / 1250 / 2000 W).
  2.  To switch the convector off, put the On/Off switch (1) on the side of the device into position “O”.
  3.  Use the thermostat (6) to set the desired temperature.
