DEAR CUSTOMER!
This appliance is designed for use in domestic and similar applications, in particular- in personnel kitchen zones at stores, offices and industrial facilities;
– at agricultural farms;
– by clients at hotels, motels and other residential facilities;
– in private boarding houses.
The kettle is designed for heating and boiling drinking water.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

The following requirements should be strictly observed in order to avoid situations hazardous for human life and health, as well as premature failures of the appliance:

  1. Carefully read the present manual prior to operating the appliance. Retain the present manual, cash voucher and appliance packaging.
  2. Use the appliance only for its intended purpose.
  3. This appliance is not designed for commercial applications. Do not use the appliance outdoors.
  4. Do not place the appliance near heat sources, do not expose it to direct sunlight and moisture (do not submerse it in water or other liquids).
  5. Do not touch the appliance with wet hands. In case of ingress of moisture or leakage from the appliance immediately disconnect it from power supply.
  6. Always disconnect the appliance from power supply after use and before cleaning (pull the plug, do not pull it out by the cable).
  7. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  8. Regularly check the appliance and its power cable for damage. Operating a damaged appliance is not allowed.
  9. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourselves, apply to certified technicians. In case of damage to the power cable have it replaced by the Manufacturer, an authorized service centre or other skilled personnel.
  10. Only the use of original spare parts is allowed.
  11. Do not allow moisture to get on the power cord, plug and electrical contacts!
  12. Use of the device not in accordance with the instructions may result in injury!
  13. The surface of the heating element remains hot after use.

SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • Fill the kettle with cold water only.

  • Ensure that the kettle is turned off before removing it from the base!

  • Ensure that the lid is firmly closed before turning the kettle on.

  • Do not attempt to boil water in the kettle with the lid open, this will prevent the automatic shutdown from functioning and may cause a fire.

  • Use the kettle only together with the base supplied with it.

  • Do not submerse the kettle in water.

  • Avoid contact of water with the surface of the kettle and the power base.

  • The water level should be between the MAX and MIN marks! If the kettle is felled over the maximum level mark, boiling water may spill out!

  • Do not attempt to boil water in the kettle with the lid open, this will prevent the automatic shutdown from functioning and may cause a fire.

  • CAREFUL! Ensure that the kettle is turned off before taking it from the stand.

  • Use the appliance only with the proper connector.

  • Careful: accessible surfaces of the appliance can reach high temperature during operation.
    Do not touch the hot surfaces.

  • The appliance is not designed to be powered from an external timer or other separate remote control system.

OPERATING PROCEDURE

  • Retain all packaging materials until you make sure that the kettle operates properly.
  • Ensure that the power supply grid voltage corresponds to the one indicated on the kettle’s base before operating it.
  • Do not operate the unit with damaged power cable or plug.
  • Before the first use boil and discard water two times. It is recommended to add some citric acid to the water for the first boiling. The kettle is designed for boiling pure  water only.
  • Place the kettle on a smooth level surface. Do not place the kettle at the edge of a table.
  • Connect the kettle to an electric socket. Excessive power cord can be wrapped around the guides inside the base and draw its end through the cutout in its side.
  • Do not let the power cord hang from a table where a child can pull on it.
  • Do not place the kettle near heating appliances and hot surfaces.

KETTLE OPERATION

  • Before connecting the kettle to power supply ensure that the main power switch is in the OFF position.
  • Hold the kettle by the handle and lift it vertically from the base. Open the lid. Do not pour hot tap water into the kettle. Open the tap and let the water flow for some  time to make sure it is clean.
  • Pour water into the kettle. Check the water level by the level gage in the housing.
  • Do not overfill the kettle above the MAX mark. Be careful: if overfilled hot water may be spilled put from the spout.
  • Close the lid until a click is heard. The kettle may not turn on if the lid is not firmly closed.
  • Connect the kettle to a power outlet. Turn the switch to the “On” position. The power-on indicator will light up. After boiling, the kettle will automatically turn off. The  indicator will go off.
  • Before pouring boiling water from the kettle, wait until the water stops bubbling. To re-boil the water, turn the switch to the “On” position. The switch is not fixed in the “ On “ position for several seconds after boiling. Do not hold the switch in the “On” position forcibly! Boiling can be interrupted at any time by pressing the on/off  button.
  • Take the kettle from the base vertically, holding it by the handle. Some condensation may be visible on the top side of the base after the kettle is removed. This is normal  and not a sign of malfunction.

ATTENTION! Do not turn the kettle on the base to avoid spilling out of hot water! Ensure that the kettle is turned off before removing it from the base! Do not open the lid during boiling!

DRY OPERATION SAFETY
The kettle is equipped with a system the automatically turns it off when it is accidentally turned on without water or with an insufficient amount of water inside. If the system  is tripped disconnect the kettle from power supply and let it cool down for 15 minutes. After that you may resume operation of the appliance. An unpleasant odor may occur if the safety is tripped.

MAINTENANCE

SCALE REMOVAL
Regularly remove scale using special descaling chemicals. Follow the instructions on the packaging. You may also use a weak citric acid or vinegar solution to remove scale. Do not try to use a more concentrated solution as it may lead to corrosion and leaks from the appliance.
ATTENTION! The guarantee undertakings do not cover the damage caused by improper scale removal.

CLEANING

  • Always disconnect the appliance from power supply before cleaning!
  • Clean the outer surfaces of the kettle, if necessary, with a slightly dampened cloth withoutdetergents.
  • Do not submerge the kettle or base in water.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaning agents and solvents to clean the kettle.

DISPOSAL

Upon expiry of its service life the appliance can be disposed of separately from ordinary domestic waste. You can turn it over to a specialized electric and electronic appliance disposal and recycling centre.

CERTIFICATION DATA, GUARANTEE

The service life of this item is 5 years since the date of sale to the end user, provided the item will be used in strict accordance with the present manual and the applicable  technical standards. Upon expiry of the service life please contact the nearest authorized service centre for suggestions as to further operation of the appliance.
The manufacturing date of the appliance is integrated into the serial number (digits 2 and 3 – year, digits 4 and 5 – month of manufacture). If any questions related to  appliance maintenance should arise, or if the appliance has malfunctions, apply to the CENTEK TM Authorized Service Center. DEAR VALUED CONSUMER!
The guarantee period for all appliances amounts to 12 months since the date of sale to the end consumer. With this Warranty Card the Manufacturer confirms the proper condition of the appliance and undertakes to repair, free of charge, all defects caused by the Manufacturer’s default.

GUARANTEE MAINTENANCE TERMS

  1. The guarantee shall be valid if the following documentation conditions are observed:
    – The original Warranty Card shall be filled out correctly and clearly, indicating the of appliance model, serial number and sale date, the stamp of the seller company and signature of its representative shall be available, as well as the stamps on each coupon and the buyer’s signature in the Warranty Card.
    The Manufacturer reserves the right to reject guarantee maintenance if the buyer fails to provide the abovementioned documents or if the information contained therein  is incomplete, illegible or ambiguous.

  2. The guarantee shall be valid if the following operation conditions are observed:
    – the appliance is used in strict accordance with the present manual;
    – the safety rules and requirements are observed.

  3. The guarantee does not apply to regular maintenance, cleaning, installation and setup of the appliance at the owner’s location.

  4. The guarantee does not apply in the following cases:
    – mechanical damage;
    – normal wear of the appliance;
    – non-observance of operation requirements or erroneous actions on the part of the user;
    – improper installation or transportation;
    – natural disasters (lightning, fire, flood, etc.), as well as any other causes beyond the Manufacturer’s or Seller’s control;
    – ingress of foreign objects, liquids or insects into the inside of the appliance;
    – repairs or modifications to the appliance by unauthorized persons;
    – use of the appliance for commercial purposes (loads exceeding normal domestic application), connection of the appliance to utility and telecommunication networks incompliant with national technical standards;
    – failure of the following accessories, if replacement of these is allowed by design and does not involve disassembly of the appliance:

The Manufacturer shall not be made liable for possible damage, directly or indirectly inflicted by CENTEK brand products on people, domestic animals, the consumer’s  or third persons’ property if such damage is inflicted as the result of non-observance of appliance installation and operation requirements, deliberate or negligent actions  (omission) by the consumer or third persons, as well as of force majeure circumstances.

  6. Service centers will only accept appliances in a clean state (there should be no food residues, dust and other contamination on the appliance).

The Manufacturer reserves the right to change the design and specifications of the appliance without prior notice.
