Intended use

The ceiling prop is intended exclusively for private use as a support during overhead work in dry and interior construction. The prop is not designed for use  on stairways or sloping ground. Commercial or industrial use is not permitted. No liability will be assumed in cases of improper use.
No liability will be assumed for damage caused by misuse or improper handling, the use of force or unauthorised modification. The risk is borne solely by the user.

Safety instructions

CAUTION! RISK OF INJURY!

  • Check the prop before every use to make sure it is in perfect condition. If you notice any damage you may no longer use the prop.
  • Ensure that the prop locking screw is always tightly fastened when under load and that both locking bolts are completely engaged.
  • Only use the prop on clean, non-slip and level ground and in a stable position.
  • Check the prop before every use to make sure it is in perfect technical condition.
  • Never remain under supported loads.

CAUTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE!

  • Only use the prop for short-term erection and not for permanent propping of ceilings, beams etc.
  • Please note that the prop or the supporting material can be damaged by high pressure.
  • Never place more than 30 kg payload on the prop at an inclination of 90°. At a lower inclination, the max. load of the prop is lowered significantly.
  • Use the prop only at an inclination between 65° and 90°.
  • Never use the prop for purposes other than those described in these instructions.

Parts and operating components

The ceiling prop PDS 30 A1 consists of the following parts:

  • Rubber pad 1
  • Upper bar 2
  • Pump lever 3
  • Lower bar 4
  • Locking screw 5
  • Tube 6
  • Locking bolt 7
  • Locking lever 8

Usage

  • Loosen the locking screw 5 (Fig. A).
  • If necessary, press the two locking bolts 7 out of their detent (Fig. B) and pull the lower bar 4 out up to the required height until the rubber pad 1 is located under the load to be supported (Fig. C).
  • Allow the two locking bolts 7 to engage completely in the tube 6 detent. Use the red line which marks the position of the locking bolts 7 (Fig. D) on the lower bar 4 as an orientation aid.
  • If the length of the lower bar 4 is insufficient, push the locking lever 8 upwards (Fig. E) and pull the upper bar 2 out to the required height.
  • Re-tighten the locking screw 5 (Fig. F).
  • To make fine adjustments to the height, press the pump lever 3 several times until the rubber pad 1 is located firmly under the load to be supported (Fig. G).
  • To loosen and remove the prop, press the locking lever 8 upwards until the upper bar 2 has been completely retracted (Fig. H).
  • Loosen the locking screw 5 (Fig. A).
  • Hold the tube 6 firmly with one hand and press the engaged locking bolts 7 out of their detent (Fig. B).
  • Push the lower bar 4 back inside completely.

2 Storage
♦ Store the prop in a dry location and in a lying position so that it cannot fall over.
Maintenance
♦ The prop is maintenance free.
Cleaning
♦ Clean the prop using a brush or a slightly damp cloth.

Dispose of the product via an approved waste disposal company or your municipal waste disposal facility. Please comply with all applicable regulations.

Your local community or municipal authorities can provide information on how to dispose of the worn-out product.

Dispose of packaging materials that are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.

Note the labelling on the packaging and separate the packaging material components for disposal if necessary. The packaging material is labelled with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meanings:
