iGen2200 Inverter Generator

This will show you how to install an altitude kit for operating your Westinghouse inverter generator at altitudes over 2000 feet.
Please reference Part A of this guide for instructions on the iGen2200 and iGen2500 models. If you have an iGen2500 manufactured before 3/2020 you will reference the instructions for the iGen2200.
Part B will be used for any iGen2500 manufactured after 03/2020 this can be confirmed by the serial number on your unit.

  1. Confirm the altitude you’ll be operating the generator and select the right carburetor jet for your application.

  2. To perform this installation, you’ll need a Phillips head screwdriver, a flat head screwdriver, a pair of needle nose pliers, a socket wrench, an 8mm socket, and a 10mm socket.

  3. Place the generator on a flat surface in a well ventilated area. First step is to make sure your generator is in the off position.Westinghouse iGen2200 Inverter Generator - Fig 3

  4. Next, you will use the carburetor drain hose to drain the gas out of the fuel tank.Westinghouse iGen2200 Inverter Generator - Fig 3

  5. Remove the 2 screws that secure the engine maintenance panel to the frame. Keep track of the screws and bolts as you disassemble the generator housing.Westinghouse iGen2200 Inverter Generator - Fig 5

  6. Slide off the spark plug access cover, and push on the maintenance panel to remove it.Westinghouse iGen2200 Inverter Generator - Fig 6

  7. Locate the clear plastic hose from the float that is exiting out the bottom of the generator, and place a gasoline safe container under it to catch the drained fuel.Westinghouse iGen2200 Inverter Generator - Fig 6

  8. Loosen the float bowl drain screw until fuel is seen draining from the float bowl. Allow any fuel to drain, then tighten the float bowl drain screw.Westinghouse iGen2200 Inverter Generator - Fig 8

  9. Continue with the removal of the generator cover. Remove the 3 bolts at the bottom of the engine access panel and the single bolt near the front air vents.Westinghouse iGen2200 Inverter Generator - Fig 9
