Ensure the power input matches the requirements before powering on to avoid
damage to the speaker.
Package Contents:
Verify all components are included before installation.
Adding SPK1 to i3 Speaker Service (IPS):
- Connect the speaker to power and note the announced IP address.
- Download and install the IP Speaker Service from the provided link.
- Login using default credentials and add the device in the Devices tab.
Ceiling Flush Mount Installation:
- Select the installation location and remove the ceiling tile.
- Cut a hole in the tile for speaker insertion.
- Engage spring clamps to secure the speaker in place.
- Complete installation and confirm by clicking Done.
Configuring IP Speaker:
To change IP settings, access Network settings from the drop-down menu.
FAQs
Q: What is the default IP address of the SPK1 speaker?
A: The default IP address is 192.168.0.11.
Q: How do I add the speaker to IP Speaker Service (IPS) software?
A: Connect the speaker to power, download and install IP Speaker Service, then add the device using default credentials in the Devices tab.
Q: Can I use DC12V power instead of PoE+?
A: PoE+ power is recommended, but if not available, DC12V power can be used with the appropriate adapter.

Designed for drop-ceiling installations, it offers an unobtrusive, flush fit
and easy PoE+ power connectivity. Its discreet design is perfect for any
indoor setting and provides critical audio alarm output for a wide variety of
i3 solutions, including SRX-Pro, i3Ai Sentry, Velocity Timer, and i3Ai.
POWER SUPPLY
SPK1 PoE speaker accepts PoE+ (16W) and DC12V power (power adapter included). Ensure the supplied voltage meets the power consumption requirements of this camera (16W) before powering the camera on. Incorrect voltage may cause irreparable damage to the video camera and will effectively void the camera warranty.
PACKAGE CONTENTS
In addition to this guide, the SPK1 packing box includes:
- SPK1 speaker
- DC12V power supply (optional). PoE+ power is recommended.
PARTS & DIMENSIONS
- RJ45 Ethernet PoE+. Insert an Ethernet cable into the port for network connection as well as PoE+ (Power over Ethernet) power.
- Power requirement: 16W.
- USB port. Factory use only.
- DC12V power is optional. PoE+ power is recommended, but if the switch does not supply PoE+ power, a DC12V power adapter can be used.
- Status LED. L1 – PoE Power indicator; L2 – Network status/data transmission indicator.
- Spring-loaded wing clamps for ceiling tile flush mounting installation.
CEILING FLUSH MOUNT INSTALLATION
Start by preparing the mounting surface. SPK1 is an indoor speaker specially designed for flush-mount drop-ceiling installation.
- Select the installation location and remove the drop-ceiling tile where SPK1 will be installed.
- Cut out 6 11/16” (170mm) round holes in the ceiling tile.
- Re-install the tile and insert the speaker through the opening.
- Expand and engage the retractable spring clamps to brace the speaker against the ceiling tile.

ADDING SPK1 TO i3 SPEAKER SERVICE (IPS)
SPK1 speaker comes pre-set to the default IP: 192.168.0.11. For your convenience, the speaker will audibly announce its IP address as soon as it’s connected to power.
- Speaker’s default IP address: 192.168.0.11.
- Camera’s default Subnet mask address: 255.255.255.0.
To add the speaker to IP Speaker Service (IPS) software.
- Go to https://i3international.com/download
- Download and install IP Speaker Service.
- Use the shortcut on the Desktop to launch i3 IP Speaker Service.
- Log in using default credentials:
- Username: i3admin
- Password: i3admin
- In the Devices tab, click + Add Device All SPK1 and SPK2 devices will be discovered automatically.
- Click Add for each discovered PoE speaker to add them to IPS.
- Click Done when finished.

CONFIGURING IP SPEAKER
Changing IP settings
To change the speaker’s IP address, click the elipsis […] and select Network
settings from the drop-down menu.
- In the Network settings window, change the speaker’s IP settings and click Update.
- Repeat for all speakers.
Note:
Use the acceptable private address ranges only.

Adjusting speaker volume
Each speaker’s volume can be adjusted independently. Drag the slider from 0 to 100 to increase/decrease speaker volume. -
Renaming the speaker
To easily differentiate between your PoE speakers, name each device with its physical location. E.g. Front Door, West Hallway, etc.
Adding custom sounds
To add an .mp3 or .wav sound file,
- In the Sounds tab, click + Add sound.
- Locate a .mp3 or .wav file on your PC and click Open. The new sound file will be added to the list.
- To rename or delete a sound file, hover over the sound tile and click the ellipsis […].
Tip:
Deleting sound file from IPS does not remove it from your PC.
CONNECTING
CONNECTING TO SRX-PRO
To start using the PoE speaker in SRX-Pro, click the ellipsis […] and select Network settings from the drop-down menu.
Launch SRX-Pro Server Setup
- In the Server tab > IP Speaker settings, enter the IP address (http://127.0.0.1 if running on the same server) and Port (Default: 20223)
- Click Change to enter i3 IP Speaker Service credentials and enter default credentials:
- Username: i3admin
- Password: i3admin
- Enable Connect to IP Speaker service toggle and click SAVE.
- The status will change to CONNECTED. Your PoE speaker is now ready to be used with i3 solutions.
USING IP SPEAKER WITH i3 SOLUTIONS
IP speaker output can currently be used with the following i3 solutions:
- i3Ai or Edge Ai event (via SRX-Pro)
- LPR camera event (via SRX-Pro)
- i3Ai Sentry event (via SRX-Pro)
- Velocity Timer event (via PACDM)
Speaker Output for i3Ai and/or Edge Ai events
You can activate your PoE speaker in response to i3Ai Service or an i3 Edge Ai
camera (M71/M77R2) event.
Open SRX-Pro Server Setup
- In the Cameras tab, open an i3 Edge Ai camera or a camera linked to i3Ai Service.
- Open the Ai tab.
- Edge Ai cameras: Draw, select, and configure Enters Area or Crosswire tracker. i3Ai-connected cameras: Configure the camera in i3Ai software.
- Under Alarm actions
- Enable Sound toggle.
- In the IP speakers drop-down menu select one or more IP speakers.
- Click ADD SOUND and select one or more sound files.
- You may also UPLOAD a new .mp3 or .wav directly from this page without going back to the i3 IP Speaker Service.
- Remove or rearrange the sound files.
- Configure the sound duration. If the sound clips are shorter than the set duration, they will play on a loop.
- Configure other Alarm Actions as desired, including the Alarm schedule to activate the speaker only during specified times.
- When done, click SAVE
Speaker Output for LPR event
You can activate your PoE speaker in response to an i3 Edge LPR camera
(H59B2/H59B7) event.
Launch SRX-Pro Server Setup
- In the Cameras tab, open an i3 Edge LPR camera.
- Open the LPR tab and Enable the toggle under Settings
- Draw the license plate detection area and configure LPR detection settings.
- Import the list of license plates, if using, or add plates to the match list manually.
- Configure Action triggers as desired, including the Alarm schedule to activate the speaker only during specified times.
- Under Alarm actions
- Enable Sound toggle.
- In the IP speakers drop-down menu select one or more IP speakers.
- Click ADD SOUND and select one or more sound files.
- You may also UPLOAD a new .mp3 or .wav directly from this page without going back to the i3 IP Speaker Service.
- Remove or rearrange the sound files.
- Configure the sound duration. If the sound clips are shorter than the set duration, they will be played on a loop.

Speaker Output for an i3Ai Sentry event
You can activate your PoE speaker in response to the i3Ai Sentry event.
Launch SRX-Pro Server Setup
- Open the Face tab.
- Open the EVENT SETUP tab.
- Select a group from the drop-down menu
- Select Face detection camera in the list
- Configure PoE speaker output
- Enable Sound toggle.
- In the IP speakers drop-down menu select one or more IP speakers.
- Click ADD SOUND and select one or more sound files.
- You may also UPLOAD a new .mp3 or .wav directly from this page without going back to the i3 IP Speaker Service.
- Remove or rearrange the sound files.
- Configure the sound duration. If the sound clips are shorter than the set duration, they will be played on a loop.
- Configure any additional Event settings, including Email, Control, and the Alarm schedule to activate the speaker only during specified times.
- When done, click SAVE
Speaker Output for Velocity Timer event
You can activate your PoE speaker in response to an i3 Velocity Timer (Drive-
Thru) event.
Launch i3 PACDM Server
- Go to Tools > PVM Setup > Timer
- Click Advanced settings
- Under Video/Channel mapping, configure IP Speaker output for Curbside and Upsell item (register) channels.
- In the IP speakers drop-down menu select one or more IP speakers.
- Click the Sound icon and select one or more sound files.
- Click Upload file… to upload a new .mp3 or .wav directly from this page without going back to i3 IP Speaker Service
- When done, click Save and then Apply.
