i3 INTERNATIONAL H59B2 2MP H.265 Bullet LPR Camera
Thank you for purchasing i3 International’s H59 LPR IP bullet camera.
H59 is equipped with a motorized 7-22mm @ F1.6 (H59B7) or 2.8-12mm @ F1.4
(H59B2) lens.
This camera series is compatible with the optional recommended mounting base
(Part#: B59).
H59-camera series is an Edge LPR camera that is an integral part of i3’s
Velocity Timer Solution (VTS).

Note: h.265 codec is supported by SRX-Pro v7 and above only. For backwards compatibility, change the codec to h.264 in the camera’s web settings > Config > Image > Video/Audio > Video Compression.
SAFETY
When installing your H59 camera be sure to avoid:
- excessive heat, such as direct sunlight or heating appliances
- contaminants such as dust and smoke
- strong magnetic fields
- areas with mechanical vibrations
- fluorescent lamps or objects that reflect light and unstable light sources
- temperatures below -30° C (-22° F) and above 60° C (140° F).
To avoid electrical shock and to preserve the product warranty, DO NOT disassemble the camera. Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.
POWER SUPPLY
This camera accepts PoE and DC12V power.
Ensure the supplied voltage meets the power consumption requirements of this
camera (11W) before powering the camera on. Incorrect voltage may cause
irreparable damage to the video camera and will effectively void the camera
warranty.
CLEANING
- For maximum optical clarity, the camera dome or lens must remain clean. Use a soft, dry cloth to remove finger prints or dust from the dome cover.
- Use a blower to remove dust from the lens.
- Do not use volatile solvents such as alcohol, benzene, or thinners, as they may damage the surface finishes.
PACKAGE CONTENTS
Ensure that the items received match those listed on the order form and the packing slip. In addition to this manual and a fully assembled camera, the dome camera packing box includes:
- A. Standard RJ45 Connector x2
- B. Torx bit x1
- C. Surface Mount template x1
- D. Plastic Anchor x4
- E. Round Head Screw (Tapping Type) x4
WATERPROOF RJ45 ASSEMBLY
To prevent the corrosion of the RJ45 connector and to maintain the camera warranty, use the RJ45 waterproof assembly attached to the camera, as shown in the diagram below.
- Twist off the RJ45 waterproof assembly from the RJ45 connector.
- Feed the CAT5e/6 cable through the opening in the connector and crimp it using the standard RJ45 connector provided.
- Plug the crimped CAT5e/6 cable into the RJ45 connector on the camera and twist the waterproof assembly on to re-attach it.
CAMERA PARTS AND DIMENSIONS

Sun shield adjustment screw (Phillips). Unscrew to pull the shield forward to increase lens shading, if required. Re-tighten when done.

Access panel cover, secured with two Phillips screws. Remove to access Tele/Wide lens adjustment buttons, microSD card slot, and CVBS monitor connection port.

Three-axis adjustment screws (torx). Adjust the mounting assembly position for the perfect angle. See Installation Recommendations section for more information.

12VDC power connector (optional).

RJ45 Ethernet PoE Port with waterproof RJ45 connector assembly.
Insert an Ethernet cable into the port for network connection as well as PoE (Power over Ethernet) power. Use the included waterproof RJ45 connector assembly to maintain the camera warranty and the water-resistant rating. -
MicroSD Card slot for on-camera video storage (up to 256GB supported, sold separately).

Tele/Wide lens adjustment buttons. Motorized lens can also be adjusted remotely through Video Pilot Client.

CVBS hand-held monitor connection port

Reset button. Press for 10 seconds to restore camera settings to factory defaults.

Light sensor (do not block or obstruct)
INSTALLATION
Use the mounting instructions provided with the B59 (optional mounting base) mount to mount the camera.

License plate ratio: 10-50%
License plate must take up between 10 and 50% of the camera view.
License plate angle: 0-5%
License plate view must be as straight as possible. Licence plate angle may
not exceed 5°.
ACTIVATE CAMERA IN ACT
IMPORTANT: Before adding your camera to SRX-Pro, set the administrative password and unique camera IP. Your camera will remain inactive and inaccessible until administrative password is set.
Camera’s default IP address: 192.168.0.16.
Camera’s default Subnet mask address: 255.255.255.0. Default User name:

Set administrative password:

Connect all H59 cameras to the Gigabit switch.

Launch i3 Annexxus Configuration Tool (ACT) v.1.9 or higher.
Download and install the latest ACT installation and GiPi package from i3 website, if needed: https://i3international.com/download -
In the model drop-down list, select H59 model. Security status will say “inactive”.

Select your H59 camera in the list.
Tip: To select multiple cameras, hold down Ctrl or Shift keys. -
In the Global Camera Settings, click Set Password.

In the Set password window, enter the new password in the Password and Confirm Password fields. Follow secure password guidelines. Click OK.
The new administrative password will be assigned to the camera and the Security status will change to “active”. Keep your new password secure.
SET CAMERA IP IN ACT
Note: Your i3 Server must have a valid IP address (not APIPA) Set your camera’s unique IP address:
- In Annexxus Configuration Tool, select your H59 camera in the list.
- Uncheck “Default Account” and enter “i3admin” into Username field and the new administrative password into the Password field.
- Enter the new IP address and Subnet Mask and click Update.
- Wait a few moments for a “Success” message in the Result field.
- Repeat steps for all detected H59 cameras in the ACT until each camera has a unique IP address.
- To confirm your camera’s new IP address, click the IE icon in ACT.
In the IE browser, enter administrative Username (i3admin) and (new) Password and click LOGIN.
The camera web interface will be displayed in the Internet Explorer window. Download and run the plug-in, if prompted.

CHANGE COMPRESSION
H59 is shipped pre-set to h.265 codec, which requires SRX-Pro v7 and above. If
using SRX-Pro v6, you must change the compression to h.264 first.
Important: SRX-Pro v7.3 is required to support camera’s Edge License Plate
Recognition functionality.
- In the camera’s web interface, click on the Config > Image > Video/Audio.
- Set compression to H264 in Video drop-down menu for all streams and click Save.
- Click OK in the confirmation window.
CHANGE PLATE DETECTION COUNTRY
H59 License Plate Recognition database is pre-set to North America > USA region. If installing in Canada, change the License Plate Detection Area country to “Canada”.
- In the camera’s web interface, click on the Config > Event > License Plate Detection.
- Change the country to “Canada” under License Plate Detection Area drop-down menu and click Save.
- Click OK in the confirmation window.
LICENSE PLATE DETECTION AREA
For best performance, draw the detection area to include only the relevant area of the image.
- In the camera’s web interface, click on the Config > Event > License Plate Detection > Area.
- Set the Min and Max values to 10% and 50%, respectively.
- To adjust the detection area, click Draw Area and draw a (yellow) rectangle in the Preview window.
- Click Stop Draw and click Save.
- Click OK in the confirmation window.
CONFIGURE NIGHT TIME EXPOSURE
When using H59B7 in the Velocity Timer drive through installation, configure
the camera Display Settings profile as shown, for best performance.
- In the camera’s web interface, go to Config > Image > Display Settings > Profile Management
- Select Timing in the Schedule drop-down menu
- Drag the sliders to set the Day time range to 9:00 – 18:30, as shown.
- Click Save, then click OK in the confirmation window.
- In the camera’s web interface, go to Config > Image > Display Settings > Camera Parameters
- Select Night in the Config File drop-down menu
- Select HLC in the BLC drop-down menu

ADD CAMERA TO SRX-Pro PRO SETUP v7

Launch the SRX-Pro Setup from the Desktop or from the SRX-Pro Monitor.

In the IE browser, click Continue to this website.

Enter your administrator Username and Password and click LOGIN
-
Click on the Add tile.
-
Click SEARCH and wait until your H59 camera is discovered.

Select one or more H59 cameras with the same login credentials and click LOGIN
-
Enter camera’s Username and the (new) administrative Password and click SAVE
Login status for your device must now show the green check mark .
Note: Devices with “Login failed” status will not be added. -
Click ADD Your IP devices have been added to i3 SRX-Pro Setup and are recording based on Sensor + Motion schedule.
Change resolution and frame rate for each camera in the List section of the i3 SRX-Pro Setup.
ENABLE LPR FUNCTIONALITY
In SRX-Pro Setup,
- Open Cameras section and click on the H59 camera thumbnail.
- Open the LPR tab and click on the toggle to Enable LPR functionality
- Click SAVE.
SEARCH LICENSE PLATES
To search detected license plates:
- Launch i3 PACDM Server from the Desktop
- Click Quick Search
- Configure search criteria and click Search.
