INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
-
Install S242 PoE Switch on a dedicated shelf or inside a rack, as required. Ensure sufficient airflow all around the unit. Avoid locations with high levels of dust, vibrations, or humidity.
Note: Mounting hardware is site-specific and must be supplied by the installer. -
Plug in the provided power cord into an AC power supply. Then plug the cord into the AC power port on the back panel of the switch. The switch will power on automatically.
Important: The use of UPS is highly recommended by i3 International. Power surge damage is not covered by i3 warranty. -
Using CAT5e (or better) cable connect the Switch to the SRX Pro (NVR) or networked PC using one of the 24 PoE ports (preferred) or one of the SFP+ ports, using the SFP Copper RJ45 transceiver (not provided).
-
Use CAT5e (or better) cable not exceeding 328 ft (100 meters) to plug in up to 24 IP cameras into the RJ45 switch ports. Consider the total 370 Watt switch power budget.
-
The LED indicators will glow to indicate the switch is powered on and supplying power to the connected devices.
