Instructions for Use
XEN Instrument Shine is a powerful formulation for brightening, destaining, and repassivating stainless steel instruments. It also removes scale and discoloration from the inside of washer chambers. Instrument Shine can be used in automated washers, such as washerdisinfectors and cart washers, and in manual soaking applications.

Washer /Disinfector Directions for Use in Automated Washing Equipment
- For brightening and destaining medical instruments and removing staining or scale from your washer chamber, preclean the instruments according to your normal standard operating procedures to ensure the instruments are decontaminated.
- Program the washer to wash at 160°F (71°C) for 30–45 minutes with two rinses and no drying time. When applicable, disable the drain function at the beginning of the wash cycle.
- Manually add 1/2 to 1 quart of Instrument Shine to the chamber for every 8 gallons of water in the sump. Run the automated wash cycle as programmed above.
- If staining persists, repeat the process . Ensure through rinsing.
Directions for Manual Use
- For use on stainless steel Instruments, preclean the instruments according to your normal standard operating procedures to ensure the instruments are decontaminated.
- In a nonporous plastic or stainless steel container dose up to 2 fl.oz. of Instrument Shine per quart of hot water (50 ml/l) and mix the solution.
- Open hinged instruments and place them in the solution, using caution to prevent splashing.
- Soak instruments for at least 15–30 minutes. Heavily stained instruments may require a soak time of 30–60 minutes.
- After soaking, remove the instruments from the solution, rinse thoroughly, and dry.
- Dispose of Instrument Shine solution properly.
For instruments processed with Instrument Shine, either in an automated washer
or manually, it is recommended that the instruments be reprocessed through a
normal decontamination cycle after treatment, per facility policy.

vapors, or spray. Wash hands and skin thoroughly after handling. Wear
protectivgloves, protective clothing, eye protection, and face protection.
First Aid: IF SWALLOWED: Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. IF INHALED:
If breathing is difficult, remove person to fresh air and keep at rest in a
comfortable position for breathing. Immediately call a poison center or
doctor. For specific treatment, refer to section 4 of SDS.
Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. IF ON SKIN (or hair): Immediately
remove all contaminated clothing. Rinse SKIN with water or shower. IF IN EYES:
Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if
present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately call a poison control
center or doctor. For specific treatment, refer to section 4 of SDS. Absorb
spillage to prevent material damage.
Store locked up. Store in corrosive resistant container with a resistant inner
liner.
Dispose of contents and container in accordance with local, regional,
national, and international regulations.

Storage Information
Store in a cool, dry place protected from frost and away from alkalis and strong oxidizing agents. Store upright in original containers. Optimum storage temperature 41°F–77°F/5°C–25°C.
