WARNING

Read the instructions prior to installation and operation! Failure to follow the instructions can lead to electric shock, fires or injuries. Keep the instructions and pass them on to the user after installation.

This device is not intended for use by children younger than 8 and persons with restricted physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person who is responsible for safety or have been provided with instruction on how to use the device.

Children must be supervised in order to ensure that they do not play with the device. The device may only be used on even, dry and cool surfaces. Risk of burning in case of use on uneven or slippery surfaces.

During operation the housing of the kettle becomes very hot and hot water vapour escapes. For this reason, the kettle must only be touched at the handle. Risk of burning in case of improper use.

Never fill the kettle above the maximum fill level and only use with closed lid. Boiling water may splash from the kettle and cause scalding.

 Electrical safety

Neglecting the following points poses the risk of electric shock:

  • Do not touch the device with moist or wet hands.
  • Do not use the device in contact with a wet floor.
  • Only connect the device to earthed sockets with the voltage indicated on the device.
  • If the device is not used, pull the power plug.
  • Never open or modify the device.
  • Do not use the device with a damaged cable.
  • The kettle may only be used with the supplied base.
  • Pull the power plug in case of disturbances.

Correct purpose of use

The device is intended for:

  • Heating up drinking water
  • Use in households
  • Use in employee kitchens in stores, offices, agricultural businesses and other work environments
  • Use by guests in hotels and other hotel-like businesses

Incorrect purpose of use

The device is not intended for heating up other liquids (e.g. milk, soup) except drinking water.

Prior to first use:

  1. Heat up water in the kettle.
  2. Do not use heated water, but pour away.
  3. Repeat process.
  4. The kettle is now operational.

Cleaning and maintenance

INSERT PLUG

  1. Pull the power plug.
  2. Let the kettle cool down completely.
  3. Clean the device with a soft, dry and lint-free cloth.

Do not use chemical cleaners, scouring agents or liquids. Never immerse the device in water.
The device does not contain any parts which the user can repair. In the event of a defect, replace the device.

Descaling

Depending on the water hardness, scale may accumulate in the kettle. Scale may interfere with the performance of the kettle.

  1. Use commercial lemon-based softening agent. Adhere to the information of the supplier.
  2. After descaling, heat up water in the kettle several times.
  3. Do not use heated water, but pour away.
  4. The kettle can now be used in the usual way.

Safety cut-out

  • The device shuts off automatically when the water is boiling.
  • The device is equipped with a low liquid level control. It shuts off automatically if there is no water in the kettle.

 Disposal

Do not dispose of the device in household waste.
