Description – purpose of use
Cordless barrel water pump Extol® Premium for the cordless battery program SHARE 20 V is primarily intended for being suspended in a water vessel and for watering the garden, plants in flower pots, on shelves, etc. with a hose connected from the pump to various garden watering equipment such as watering rods, showers, sprinklers, etc. The pump can thus be operated even with limited or closed water outlet from the hose, precisely as is the case when used with garden watering equipment.
The pump is equipped with garden
quick couplers for easy connection to a garden hose.
The pump can also be used to
pump water from a stream into a storage water vessel for watering purposes.
Thanks to the power switch on
the external battery unit, which is hung on the edge of the water vessel or
hung on a hooked nail on a wall, the pump is easy to turn on and off as
required. There are also LED indicators on the external unit showing the
battery charge level.
The pump is supplied with a
hanging hook and an integrated sliding hose. The hook is hung over the rim of
the water vessel and the sliding hose is used to set the pump’s submersion
depth relative to the amount of water in the vessel.
The hanging hook with the
integrated hose is removable and it is possible to connect a garden hose
directly to the pump using a quick coupler.
The pump is intended for pumping
clean utility water free of sludge, sediment, sand, ice slurry, etc. Using the
pump for other liquids is impermissible.
The cordless pump is an
excellent helper for effortless watering in places without mains power.
The cordless pump variant with
the part number Extol® Premium 8891930 is supplied with a Li-ion battery 2000
mAh, 20 V and charger 2.4 A.
The version with the part number
Extol® Premium 8891931 is supplied without a battery and without a charger at
a lower purchase price for the situation where the user has already purchased

BATTERIES FOR THE SHARE 20V CORDLESS POWER TOOL RANGE
Li-ion batteries from the SHARE
20 V range are of very high quality with a long lifetime and are intended for
demanding work with cordless power tools.
To ensure long-term high
performance (lifetime) of batteries from the SHARE 20 V cordless program,
unlike cheap Li-ion batteries they contain a range of protective functions
controlled using complex control electronics that are integrated directly
inside the battery itself.
These functions include, for example:
- carefully controlled charging process (gentle controlled ramp-up of the charging voltage and current, over-current and over-voltage protection, over-charging protection, charging process shut-off).
- overload protection (against excessive current draw caused by excessive load on the power tool).
- protection against overload at low or high temperatures – battery capacity and performance of the power tool naturally declines at low or high temperatures (battery operating temperature is -10° to +40°C).
- continuous monitoring and assessment of temperature, voltage and input/output current.
- sleep mode – during inactivity of the power tool, the battery goes into sleep mode to minimise self-discharge; when the power tool is started, the battery switches to operating mode.
- sub-threshold discharge protection (discharging of the battery below a certain threshold, which is damaging for the battery, the supply of current is shut off at the threshold voltage level).
- the SHARE 20 V battery meets the technical requirements of norms: EN 62841; EN 62133; UN 38.3
Thanks to the very slow self- discharge of the Li-ion battery, the battery remains ready for use even long after it has been charged. Furthermore, the Li-ion battery can be recharged at any time, regardless of its charge level without reducing its capacity.

- Maximum flow rate parameters of the pump and max. pressure are taken from table 3. The given delivery height of 21 m is the height of the water column perpendicular to the ground. It generally applies that one meter of delivery height perpendicular (vertical) to the ground corresponds to approximately 10 m delivery distance in a horizontal direction, thus a delivery height of 21 m provides sufficient water delivery distance from a water vessel to other places in the garden. To achieve maximum delivery distance and volumetric flow rate, we recommend the SHARE 20 V battery with a higher capacity (ideally 8 Ah, model-part number 8891886).

SUBMERSION DEPTH ADJUSTMENT
|
---|---
Assembling the pump
- Assemble the pump according to fig. 1.
- Set the depth of submersion by adjusting the length of the hose as shown in fig. 2. To shorten the pump submersion depth, pull on the hose on the side of the valve at the to side of the hook. The pump submersion depth should be max. 0.5.m After pumping out the water, adjust the submersion depth according to the water level mark. The pump must not run without water. It is possible to connect a garden hose to the pump without the hook. Ensure that the quick coupler connectors are properly connected so that the hose is not flung out when the pump is turned on as a result of water pressure, or hang it on a hooked nail (there are hanging openings on the rear side).
- Hang the external unit on the edge of the water vessel or hang it on the hooked nail (there are hanging openings on the rear side).
- Insert a charged battery into the external unit.
Operating the pump
- Prior to using the pump, check that there is no damage to the pump body, guards, insulation of the power cord, insulation of the input power cord to the pump and the protective cover of the external unit. The pump has a water ingression protection rating of IPX8 and the unit with the battery IPX4. In the event that the pump is damaged, do not use it and arrange its repair at an authorised service centre for the Extol® brand.
- Prior to every use, check that the pump has a filter and that the filter is not clogged. Do not use the pump without the filter or when the filter is clogged. Operating the pump without a filter may cause damage to the pump by foreign material in the pumped water. The operation of the pump with a clogged filter limits the flow rate of the water and may lead to damage of the pump. Remove the bottom part of the pump (fig. 3) and the polyurethane filter inside it. If clogged, rinse it out in clean running water, if heavily soiled, replace it with a new original filter (part. no. 8891930A). Do not use any filter other than the original one because it has a specific water permeability.
- Check that the hole next to the water outlet connector is not clogged. Air exits via this hole when the pump is submerged. If the hole is clogged, clear it out using a wire.
- Submerge the pump in a vessel with clean water with a max. submersion depth of 0.5 m. Do not locate the pump on the bottom of the vessel, where there is an accumulation of sediment, mud, organic material, etc. To pump water from a stream and similar water sources, ensure that sludge, mud, gravel, sand from the bottom, etc. is not sucked into the pump, i.e. by placing the pump in an elevated height in the water, also avoiding algae or other organic material.
- After charging the battery, insert it into the external unit and then close the lid of the unit. Protect the unit against damage by impacts, etc. The unit has a water ingression protection rating of IPX4.
TURNING THE PUMP ON/OFF
- To turn the pump on/off, press the button on the external unit. Do not turn on the pump unless it is submerged in water. The pump must not run without water.
- When it is turned on, the battery charge level indicators will be lit.
- If the battery is coming close to being discharged, the last segment on the left will be lit orange – otherwise it is lit green, and when the battery is flat this segment will flash orange and the pump will turn off.
- When running the pump, ensure that while pumping out water the pump does not run without water. If necessary, adjust the pump submersion depth by extending the hose between the hook and the pump.
USING THE PUMP FOR PUMPING WATER INTO A WATER STORAGE VESSEL.
- When pumping water, for example from a stream into a water storage vessel, it is necessary to take into conside- ration the max. delivery height (water column vertical to the ground), which is 21 m. If the water column is not perpendicular to the ground, the delivery distance (hose length) may be greater, but it is necessary to take into account that the distance from the water storage vessel may be long and it is necessary to test it out; it is recommend to us a battery with a higher capacity (ideally 8 Ah).
- After using the pump, rinse it out with clean water. After use, check that the filter is not clogged (see fig. 3), and in the event of clogging, rinse it out under clean running water. It is easier to clean a wet filter with the dirty material that has not yet dried on to it.
- Do not leave the pump submerged in water when there is a risk of the water freezing; this would damage the pump. If there is a risk of frost, remove the pump from the water, disconnect the hose and allow all the water from the pump and the hose to flow out. Allow the water to flow out from the bottom part and then turn the pump upside down and allow water to also flow out of the delivery outlet of the pump.
- When leaving the pump submerged in water, e.g. in a barrel during the summer, keep the external unit under cover.
- Prior to assembly (installation), disassembly or cleaning of the pump, remove the battery from the external unit, i.e. disconnect the power source.
- Do leave the pump submerged in water when there are people or animals in the water.
- The norm requires that the user‘s manual contains the following statement:
This power tool can be used by children aged 8 years and older if they are
properly supervised or in cases where they have been instructed to use an
power tool in a safe manner and understand the potential dangers. The user may
not allow children to perform cleaning and maintenance if they are not older
than 8 years and under supervision. Keep the power tool and its power cord out
of reach of children younger than 8 years of age. The power tool may be used
