Description – The purpose of use

The self-levelling cross line laser green 360°+ 1V projects a single horizontal plane in a 360° radius (entire plane) and a single vertical line, which is perpendicular to the projected horizontal plane and forms a cross at the point of intersection. The device enables the projection of a horizontal plane and/or vertical line.

USING THE DEVICE
WITH LEVELLING AUTOMATICS
Thanks to the self-leveling automatics, the device is intended for determining and checking the horizontal plane or horizontal lines and the vertical line. After settling, the device will automatically determine the horizontal and/or vertical line. When the position of the device is outside the self-leveling range of the device, the laser line will flash and self- levelling will not be possible.

USING THE DEVICE
WITHOUT LEVELLING AUTOMATICS
When the self-levelling mechanism of the device is locked, the device can be tilted to an angle outside the self-levelling range for the purpose of projecting a laser line in situations where a certain tilt angle needs to be maintained as shown in the example in fig. 1.EXTOL PREMIUM 8823307 Cross
Laser Liner - Fig 4

  • The device has a PULSE MODE function and in this mode, it can be used with the receiver (detector) for the localization of laser lines outdoors or in large indoor areas, e.g. in halls, further details later in the text.
  • The device can be mounted on a tripod with a ¼” thread.
  • Thanks to IP54 protection, the device can also be used in rainy weather.
  • The device is supplied in a practical bag for protection against damage during handling.

  1. The designation 360° means that the laser lines define the entire horizontal plane at a radius of 360°. 1V expresses a single vertical line that is perpendicular to the horizontal plane (within the radius of approx. 130°).
  2. The max. measuring distance depends on ambient light intensity. The specified max. recommended distance applies for interiors under standard light conditions. Under less intensive light, the working distance may be 40- 60 m. To improve the visibility of the laser line, the light conditions in the area can be adjusted, for example, a green target, or green glasses may be used to intensify the laser lines, see. Inserting batteries

WARNING
• Prior to inserting/replacing the batteries, first check that the toggle switch (fig. 2, position 3) is set to the closed padlock position, otherwise the self-levelling mechanism will not be secured in place (locked) and when the device is tilted for the insertion/replacement of the batteries the self- levelling automatics could be damaged.

  1. Tilt open the battery compartment cover (fig. 2, position 6) and insert type AA batteries into the compartment according to the polarity +/- marked on the underside of the cover.
    ATTENTION
    • Always insert dry, undamaged batteries of the same type and age into the device.

  2. Close the battery compartment using the cover.

Operation of the device in automatic levelling mode

SETTING THE AUTOMATIC LEVELLING MODE

  1. Stand the laser device on a stable horizontal surface or screw the device onto the thread of a tripod (not included), or screw the device onto a deflection arm of a stand (not included), which is then attached to a magnetic surface or screwed on to a tripod, etc.
    ATTENTION
    • It is necessary to level the stand to a horizontal position, otherwise the self-levelling range will be exceeded and the self-levelling automatics will not function (when the self-levelling range is exceeded the lines will flash).

  2. Set the toggle switch (fig. 2, position 3) to the open padlock position (unlock the levelling automatics). Setting the toggle switch will result in the horizontal plane being projected together with the vertical line. Press the control button (fig. 2, position 5) to gradually set the projection mode to the horizontal plane only or vertical line only or a combination of the horizontal plane and vertical line with a cross at the point of intersection.
    • The principle of the self-levelling automatics requires that the laser device is not tilted by more than 4° from the horizontal plane, and then the device projects a line or a plane after settling, automatically defining the horizontal or vertical line. When the position of the device is outside the self-levelling range, the laser line will flash and self-levelling will not be possible.

ACTIVATING/DEACTIVATING PULSE MODE IN THE LEVELLING AUTOMATICS MODE

  • With the switch (fig. 2, position 3) set to the position of the open padlock, use the button (fig. 2, position 5) to set the required laser line projection (level) and then hold down the button (fig. 2, position 5) to light up the pulse mode indicator light (fig. 2, position 4).
If the indicator light (fig. 2, position 4) is lit, the device is in pulse mode and it is possible to use it with the laser line receiver (detector). If this function is not activated, the receiver (detector) does not detect the laser line of the self-levelling laser device. For the compatibility of the self-levelling laser device with the receiver, the acceptable technical specifications for the laser must be met, which must be specified in the technical specifications of the receiver. This device is compatible with receivers of the Extol® Premium 8823390 brand. Prior to purchasing a receiver of a different brand available on the market, first, verify that it is compatible with this laser device.
To deactivate the pulse mode, hold down the control button (fig. 2, position
  1. so that the indicator light (fig. 2, position 4) turns off.

TURNING OFF THE DEVICE IN THE LEVELLING AUTOMATICS MODE

  • Set the toggle switch (fig. 2, position 5) to the position of the closed padlock and then hold down the control button (fig. 2, position 5), which will turn off the laser lines and turn off the device.

NOTE:
• The device does not have an automatic shut-off function that is triggered after a certain idle time.
WARNING

  • Do not carry or tilt, etc. the device while the toggle switch (fig. 2, position 3) is in the open padlock position, otherwise, there is a risk of damaging the self-levelling mechanism in the device.

Operation of the device without levelling automatics

  • The laser device can also be used when tilted outside the automatic-levelling mode when the self-levelling mechanism is locked, e.g. for determining a second parallel line, see fig. 1.

ATTENTION

  • Using the device with the self-levelling mechanism locked may result in less accurate measurements and is not a substitute for measurement with the use of the self-levelling automatics.

SETTING THE MODE WITHOUT LEVELLING AUTOMATICS

  1. Stand the laser device on a stable horizontal surface or screw the device onto the thread of a tripod (not included), or screw the device onto a deflection arm of a stand (not included), which is then attached to a magnetic surface or screwed on to a tripod.
  2. Set the toggle switch (fig. 2, position 3) to the closed padlock position.
  3. Short press the control button (fig. 2, position 5), which will result in the projection of a horizontal plane and a vertical line, which will flash in regular intervals of approx. 5 seconds.
  4. Press the control button (fig. 2, position 9) to set the projection of the horizontal plane and/ or the vertical line.
  5. The device can be tilted outside the automatic levelling range.

ACTIVATING PULSE MODE IN THE MODE WITHOUT LEVELLING AUTOMATICS
WARNING

  • Prior to performing the settings below, it is essential to have the device in a horizontal position, since it is necessary to unlock the locked levelling automatics, and the device could be damaged.
  1. Set the toggle switch (fig. 2, position 3) to the open padlock position.
  2. Use the control button (fig. 2, position 4) to set the projection of the horizontal plane and/or the vertical line as required.
  3. Hold down the control button (fig. 2, position 5) so that the indicator light (fig. 2, position 4) lights up. When the pulse mode is activated, this indicator light will be lit.
  4. Then set the toggle switch (fig. 2, position 3) to the closed padlock position and now it is possible to tilt the device outside the automatic levelling range. The laser lines will flash in regular intervals of approx. 5 s.

TURNING OFF THE DEVICE IN THE MODE WITHOUT LEVELLING AUTOMATICS
