  1. Measuring inaccuracy will increase by ± 0.25 mm in the distance measurement distance of 10-25 m. At a distance over 25 m, the inaccuracy will increase by a further ± 0.25 mm. Intensive sunlight, transparent materials (clean water or colorless glass), small reflectivity of the measured surface or large temperature differences may reduce measurement accuracy. When the temperature of the measured surface is high, inaccuracy may increase by ± 1.5-2 mm.
  2. The battery lifetime depends on the quality of the batteries used, the storage/operating conditions of the device and the operating time of the device.

SETTING UNITS
Press button  to reset the current units. Default value: 0.000 m
There are 6 types of units available.

Length Area Volume
0.000 m 0.000 m2 0.000 m3
0.00 m 0.00 m2 0.00 m3
0.0 in 0.00 ft2 0.00 ft3

SETTING A REFERENCE POINT
Press button to set the position of the reference point, i.e. define whether the measured length will include the length of the device or not. Including the length of the device when measuring distance has significance when measuring the distance between two walls. The default reference point of this device is the rear point.

Measurement modes

Note: To increase the measurement range in daylight or when the surface has poor reflective qualities, use the reflective target plate or white paper.

SINGLE LENGTH MEASUREMENT
Turn on the laser beam by pressing button in the measurement mode. Press button  again to measure a single length. The result is displayed on the main row of the display.

CONTINUOUS MEASUREMENT
Hold down button in the measuring mode to enter the continuous measurement mode. In this mode, the device continuously measures distance, whilst, in addition to the currently measured value on the main row of the display, it also displays the min./max. on the other rows. If you wish to leave the continuous measurement mode, press button .

MEASURING AREA

Press button and symbol will appear on the display. One side of the rectangle will flash on the display. When measuring area, proceed according to the instructions below:

  • Press button once to measure the length of one side and then press button  again to measure the second side.
  • The device calculates and displays the results on the main row of the display.
  • The current length measurement is shown on the auxiliary row of the display.
  • It is necessary to press button  to delete the result and to start a new measurement.
  • Press button    to exit this mode.

MEASURING VOLUME
Press button twice and symbol will be shown at the top of the display. One edge of the cube will flash on the display. When measuring volume, please proceed according to the instructions below: Press button once to measure length. Press button again to measure width. Press button for a third time to measure height.
The device calculates and displays the results on the main row of the display. It is necessary to press button to delete the result and to start a new measurement. Press button to exit this mode.

PYTHAGOREAN THEOREM
The Pythagorean theorem function serves to calculate unmeasurable dimensions from measured dimensions using a mathematical algorithm in the examples provided below. On the images of each of the sub-functions the measured and calculated sides are displayed. To achieve accurate measurements and calculations, it is recommended to mount the device on a tripod.
Press button to select a mode.

  1. Press button , the hypotenuse on symbol will flash. The device will calculate the second cathetus by measuring the hypotenuse and the other cathetus. Press button , measure the length of the hypotenuse (a) according to the flashing on the display. Press button , measure the length of one cathetus (b).
The device will calculate the other cathetus (x).

  2. Press button when one cathetus of symbol  is flashing. The device will calculate the hypotenuse from the measurement of two catheti. Press button  , measure the length of one cathetus (a). Press button  , measure the length of the second cathetus(b).

  3. The device will calculate the length of the hypotenuse (x).

  4. Press button  until the hypotenuse is flashing on the symbol  on the display. Press button , measure the length of one hypotenuse (a). Press button , measure the length of the other hypotenuse (b). Press button , measure the length of one cathetus (c). The device will calculate the cathetus length of the full line (x).

  5. Press button  until one side of the hypotenuse is flashing on the symbol on the display. Press button  , measure the length of one side (a). Press button , measure the length of the middle line (b). Press button , measure the length of the other side (c). The device will calculate the cathetus length of the full line (x).

The catheti must be shorter than the hypotenuse. Otherwise, “err” will appear on the display. To ensure accuracy, make sure that all the measure-ments are made from the same point.

ADDITION/SUBTRACTION
In the single length measurement mode, this device can be used to add or subtract lengths.
Press button , the “+” symbol will appear on the main row of the display, meaning that you are entering the addition mode.
The display will show the value of the last measure-ment and the resulting sum.
Press button , the “-” symbol will appear on the main row of the display, meaning that you are entering the subtraction mode.
The display will show the value of the last measure-ment and the subtraction result.

Saving and viewing

The Save function can be used in the single length measurement mode.
