Safety Tips

  • As is the case with most sterilising equipment, the steriliser cabinet should be used with caution. Please read the following warnings to avoid potential injuries.

WARNING

  • This appliance is intended for indoor use only.

  • To protect against fire, electrical hazards, and/or personal injury, do not immerse cord, plugs or base in water or other liquids.

  • Danger of serious injury or death! Do not attempt to service this equipment unless you are a licensed electrician or trained servicer.

  • Because this equipment utilizes high voltage, it should only be installed and serviced by a licensed electrician or trained servicer. Attempting to install or service the equipment yourself could result in serious, potentially fatal injuries.

  • If an electrical shock is felt when touching equipment, shut off power immediately (pull cord or turn off circuit breaker) and call a trained servicer for repair. Failure to do so could result in serious, potentially fatal injuries.

  • Always turn power switch off any time equipment is not in use.
    WARNING : Danger of injury! Do not open door until timer has completed countdown.
    WARNING : Do not operate equipment with faulty, loose, or missing parts. If you do, personal injury, or damage to equipment and property could result.
    WARNING : could result in death. Read the installation, operating and maintenance instructions thoroughly before installing or servicing this appliance.

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

  • Children shall not play with the appliance.

  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

  • This equipment is intended to be used for commercial applications, for example in kitchens of restaurants, canteens, hospitals and in commercial enterprises such as hotel, hospital etc.

  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

  • WARNING – This appliance contains a UV emitter. Do not stare at the light source.

  • Do not bypass the safety interlocks.

  • Do not use appliance for other than its intended use.

  • To reduce risk of explosion or fire, do not use near combustibles.

  • For safe and proper operation, the appliance must be placed in a stable, vertical position.

  • Always unplug from outlet prior to handling or cleaning.

  • The product instructions are available as a PDF document via your Buffalo dealer.

Introduction

Congratulations on your purchase of your UVC Steriliser cabinet. Provided in this manual are necessary details to ensure efficient, effective and safe operation of your new equipment while maintaining the best possible performance. Please take time to carefully read through this manual. BUFFALO will not accept liability for product failures in the event that:

  • The instructions in this manual have not been followed correctly.
  • Un-qualified personnel have adjusted the UVC Sterilizer Cabinet Frame.
  • Non-original spare parts are used.

Pack Content

All BUFFALO products are inspected and tested prior to packing. This product consists of the following parts :

    • UVC sterilizer cabinet
  • FS130 – Small unit – 1 glass rack + 1 Cutlery rack
  • FS131 – Medium unit – 3 glass racks + 1 Cutlery rack
  • FS132 – Large unit – 3 glass racks + 2 Cutlery racks
  • Instruction manual

BUFFALO prides itself on quality and service, ensuring that at the time of packaging the contents are supplied fully functional and free of damage. Should you find any damage as a result of transit, please contact your BUFFALO dealer immediately.

Installation

Remove the Sterilizer Cabinet unit from the packaging, ensuring that all protective packaging, plastic and residues are cleaned from its surfaces. Layout all components of the Sterilizer Cabinet unit on the floor ready for assembly.

Reversing the door

Depending on the location of the appliance, it may be necessary to change the direction the door opens.

  1. Fully open the door, unscrew the hinge frame with a screwdriver and remove the door and hinge frame together from the appliance.

  2. Install the hinge frame from the lower left corner to the right upper corner and tighten the screws.

  3. Turn the door over 180° and push the door axle hole towards the hinge frame.

  4. Insert the hinge frame from the upper left corner to the bottom right and tighten the screws.

Carbon filter replacing

Carbon filter needs to be replaced annually.

  1. .Unscrew the cover of the back panel with a screwdriver and remove the cover.

  2. Take out the filter frame rack and replace it with a new carbon filter.

  3. Install the filter frame back in place.

  4. Put the cover back on and tighten the screws

Replacing the lamp

  1. Fully open the door and remove the lampshade by unscrewing the surface screws with a screw driver.

  2. Hold the lamp to be replaced firmly with your hand, rotate it 90° and pull it out.

  3. Replace the new lamp tube, insert the lamp holder and rotate 90° to fix the lamp tube.

  4. .Install the lampshade back to its original place and tighten the screws.

WARNING : Read and follow installation instructions before plugging in machine. Warranty will be void if machine is connected to any voltage other than that specified on the rating plate.

WARNING : Do not operate appliance unless all panels and access covers are attached correctly.

Operating

This appliance is intended for professional use only and should be operated by fully trained and qualified personnel.

Control Panel

  1. Connect the appliance to a mains power supply.

  2. Open the door, place items that require sterilizing in and close the door.

  3. Press START and the 30 min cycle will begin.

  4. For the first 20 seconds of the cycle the door can be opened, after this the red light will illuminate and the door must remain shut until the end of the cycle or the cycle is stopped.

  5. To stop the cycle before 30 minutes press the STOP button. The timer will count down from 5 minutes to eliminate ozone in the unit and the door must remain shut. When the green light illuminates the door can be opened.

  6. When a cycle is complete the timer will default back to 00:00.

Cleaning, Care and Maintenance

WARNING :
The power supply must be disconnected before servicing, maintaining or cleaning this appliance.
The appliance is not jet stream approved. Do not clean the appliance with a water jet.
Never use the appliance as a step for cleaning or accessing the ventilation hood, Serious injury could result from slips, trips or from contacting hot liquids.
If the supplied power cord or receptacle is damaged, it must be replaced by a BUFFALO Authorized company technician, or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
It is recommended that this appliance be inspected by a qualified service technician for proper performance and operation on a yearly basis.
Clean the outer shell of the machine with a damp cleaning cloth, wipe the surface of steel plate or the outer surface of the machine lightly, when cleaning the shell, do not use corrosive cleaning fluid or articles, do not use rigid cleaning appliances, so as not to scrape steel shell.

Troubleshooting

The below charts are a guide to possible problems and causes. Please read through these and double check any problems you may be having. The steps below will allow you to trouble shoot before placing a service call.

WARNING:

  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Contact your Buffalo dealer for repair.
  • Always unplug unit from power supply before servicing.
