Wall-Mount Install and Pipe-Mount Install
Determine install location for cellular antenna. Secure cellular antenna to the desired install location. The antenna can either be mounted on the wall near the Flo by Moen device using screws, or it can be strapped on to a nearby pipe using zip ties.
Note: The antenna will go in line with the Flo by Moen power adapter, so installer needs to ensure that the antenna is within 6’ of Flo by Moen device and within 10’ of standard wall outlet. Ensure the bottom of the cellular antenna housing is at least 12″ above the ground.
Ensure that the Flo by Moen device’s power adapter is not plugged into a standard wall outlet.
Using the long cable from the cellular antenna, plug the male connector into the female power connection on the Flo by Moen device. Rotate while inserting the plug until the plug is fully connected. Use of silicone lubricant is recommended on the plug body to simplify installation.
Note , if you are not installing with a battery backup option (920-001), skip to step 5, otherwise:
- Plug the male connector from the Flo by Moen power adapter into the female socket on the short cable extending from the battery backup module. Rotate while inserting the plug until the plug is fully connected.
- Plug the male connector from the battery backup module into the female socket on the short cable extending from the cellular antenna and proceed to Step 6. Rotate while inserting the plug until the plug is fully connected.
Plug the male connector from the Flo by Moen power adapter into the female socket on the short cable extending from the cellular antenna. Rotate while inserting the plug until the plug is fully connected.
Re-Check all cable connections to ensure they’re properly seated. Plug Flo by Moen power adapter cord into standard AC outlet. Important: If installed outdoors the electrical outlet must be in a weatherproof enclosure. Position antenna so that is pointing straight up to make a 90-degree angle with the housing. Once device is plugged in, wait for the green Power LED to remain solid, red Cellular Connection Status LED to remain solid and the blue Active Device Sensor LED to start blinking to indicate the cellular antenna is ready to pair with the Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff.
NOTE: Upon Powering unit, device will be activated on cellular network. Power up sequence and cellular connection LEDs may take up to 5 minutes until solid.
