IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USE AND KEEP FOR FUTURE
REFERENCE.
Follow basic safety precautions, including:
- To protect against electrical hazards, do not immerse the mains plug, power base, or kettle in water or any other liquid. Do not use in the bathroom or near any source of water. Do not use outdoors.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handles or knobs.
- Do not open the lid while the water is boiling.
- Take care when pouring, pour slowly, and do not overfill the kettle.
- Water can remain hot for a considerable time after boiling and can present a scald hazard. Keep the kettle, power base and mains lead away from the edge of worktops and out of the reach of children.
- Do not allow the mains lead to hang over the edge of the table or worktop, or anywhere where it may be accidentally caught or tripped over.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children.
- Unplug the power base from the wall socket when not in use, before repositioning and before cleaning. Allow the kettle to cool down fully before cleaning and before storing.
- Ensure that the lid is closed before switching the kettle on, otherwise it may not automatically switch off.
- Check that the kettle is properly located on the power base before switching it on.
- Do not switch on unless the kettle contains at least 1 cupful of water, otherwise the kettle may be damaged.
- Do not fill above the bottom of the max mark on the water level indicator (1.0/1.7 litres).
- Remove the kettle from its power base before filling or pouring.
- Do not place the kettle, power base or mains lead on or near any hot surface, hotplate, hot hob or burner.
- Do not use the kettle for any purpose other than heating water.
- Use the kettle only with power base supplied (and vice versa).
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. If the mains lead is damaged, it must be replaced by a special lead, which can be purchased by contacting customer service.
- Ensure that the lid is closed before switching on the kettle.

- Never open the lid while the water is boiling.
- Always switch off the kettle before removing it from the power base.
TEMPERATURE GAUGE
The temperature gauge on the kettle shows the temperature of the water inside
the kettle, allowing you to make tea, coffee or hot beverages at the optimal
temperature.
BOIL DRY CUT-OFF PROTECTION
If the kettle is accidentally switched on empty or with insufficient water,
the boil dry feature will automatically cut off the power supply. Lift the
kettle from the power base and let it cool down before refilling it with
water. Fill the kettle with water up to the “MAX” marking to reset the boil
dry protection. Avoid boiling the kettle dry, as this may damage the appliance
or shorten its lifespan.
CLEANING AND CARE
DANGER OF ELECTROCUTION! Unplug the kettle from the wall socket and let it cool down before cleaning.
- Do not immerse the kettle, power base, electric cord or plug in water or any other liquids. Never rinse them under the tap or expose them to moisture. Keep all electrical parts dry. Failure to observe this warning may cause a fire or life threatening injury by electric shock.
CAUTION:
Do not use solvents, chemical or abrasive cleaning agents, wire brushes, sharp
objects or scouring pads to clean the kettle or the power base.
General cleaning
- Remove the kettle from the power base. Empty the kettle and rinse the inside with water thoroughly.
- Wipe the outside of the kettle and the plastic parts of the power base with a soft cloth moistened with water or mild dish detergent. Dry thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth.
- Ensure that all connectors and sockets are kept dry.
Cleaning the scale filter
Depending on the hardness of the water in your area, scale present in tap
water may give your drinking water a cloudy or white appearance. The scale
filter in your kettle helps prevent scale particles from being poured into
your drink. Clean the scale filter regularly, especially when there are
visible mineral deposits and pouring is affected. To clean the scale filter,
remove it from the kettle and clean it with a soft brush under the tap.
Reattach it to the kettle after cleaning.
Descaling
Descale your kettle regularly to maintain efficient performance. Limescale and
hard mineral deposits may build up inside the kettle over time, which slow
down the boiling process.
To descale with a commercially available descaling solution: Choose a
descaler suitable for plastic kettles, and follow the package instructions.
To descale with white vinegar:
- Remove the scale filter from the kettle.
- Fill the kettle with 1 litre of water and boil.
- Add 0.7 litres of white vinegar to the “MAX” marking. Do not boil.
- Immerse the scale filter inside the vinegar solution.
- Leave the vinegar solution in the kettle overnight.
- Discard the vinegar solution the next morning, and rinse the inside of the kettle thoroughly.
- Clean the scale filter with a soft brush under the tap, rinse it thoroughly and reattach it to the kettle.
- Fill the kettle with fresh water up to the “MAX” marking. Bring to a boil and then discard the water. Repeat a few times.
Descale your kettle once every 3 months if you live in an area with soft water, or once every month if you live in an area with hard water. Regular descaling ensures proper function and saves energy.
