Hardware Included:- (4) Zip Ties
- (3) In-Line Connectors
- (1) Halo Wire Harness
-
With the hood of the Jeep open, remove the six push pins located on the top of the grille using a push pin removal tool.
-
To remove the grille, pull the sides and the bottom of the grille straight back away from the Jeep to release the clips.
-
Using a 10mm socket, remove the three bolts surrounding the headlight. Once loose, pull the light away from the Jeep and unclip the main plug located on the backside. Repeat on the opposite side.
-
On the passenger side, cut back the wrap on the headlight plug to allow about 5-8” of exposed wire.
-
Included in the package, there is a wire harness used to link the headlights together. Lay the wire harness across the front of the Jeep so that the plug near the in-line fuse is in the passenger side headlight, and the plug alone, is in the driver side headlight.
-
Using the provided zip ties, secure the wire along the front grille brace ensuring the wire has enough length on each side and it is away from the radiator/air condition condenser.
-
On the driver side, plug in both the provided wire harness and the factory headlight plug.
-
On the back of the headlight, there is a white wire for the amber turn signal. Fish this towards the fender for easy access later in the install.
-
Using your factory headlight hardware secure the lights into place.
Note:
Do not over tighten these since they can crack the housing if over tightened. -
On the passenger side, connect the provided wire harness for the white halos to the factory harness by using the provided in-line connector. After stripping the insulation off the end of the wire, place it into the connector and close until tabs are flush.
-
Once connected, locate the TAN/ORANGE wire on the factory harness. Close the connector over the wire pinching tightly. This will allow the connector to cut though the wire to make contact. You can use pliers to assist with the closing of the connector.
-
Plug in both plugs on the back side of the light and install the light into the Jeep using the 10mm factory hardware.
-
Turn on headlights and check all functions of headlight.
Note:
If halo is not coming on without headlight, using an aftermarket programmer, you will have to turn on LED functions to activate halo wire that was used. Dealerships also have this access. -
Reinstall grille by pushing in bottom clips and then using factory hardware for the top mount.
-
To hook up the amber turn signal, begin by using a 10mm socket to remove the two bolts on the front of the inner fender.
-
Along the inner edge of the inner fender, using your push pin tool, remove the flat push pins to release the inner fender.
Note:
Do not remove the raised pins along the edge of the ender flare.
-
Near the front of the fender, you will see the plug for the turn signal. Using the same type of connector as before tap into the WHITE/GREEN wire. Repeat on the other side of the Jeep.
-
Reinstall inner fender using factory hardware and check all functions of the lights. You are now done with the install of your new DV8 LED Headlights.
