Information
The child restraint system is categorized as „universal”. It has been granted
a certificate of approval in accordance with the regulations no. 44,
amendments series 04, for general use in vehicles and is fit for installation
on most car seats. The proper installation is possible if the vehicle
manufacturer has declared its the vehicle manual that this vehicle is fit for
installation of the child
restraint system categorized as „universal” for this age group. This child
restraint system has been classified as „universal” in more demanding
conditions when compared to previous designs devoid of this information.
In case of any doubts, please consult the product manufacturer or retailer. It
is fit for installation only when approved vehicles are equipped with three-
point safety belts with a retractor which have been granted a certificate of
approval in accordance with the regulations UN/ECG no. 16 or other equivalent
norms.
How to use the child safety seat
Important
- Please read this manual before you use the product and keep it for future reference. The manual can help you properly assemble the child safety seat. A wrong assembly may pose a threat to your child’s health. The manufacturer is not held responsible for potential hazards arising from wrong assembly of the product.
- Hard elements and plastic parts of the child restraint system must be placed and installed in a way that they do not get trapped by sliding seat or vehicle door under regular conditions of use.
- Any belts which attach the child restraint system to the vehicle must be tight, the child securing belts must be adapted to its body, the belts must not be twisted.
- Make sure the hip belts go low so that the pelvis is properly secured.
- If the product is subject to sudden loads during an accident, please replace it.
- Do not modify the child safety seat or install any additional elements, unless relevant authorities have agreed on it. A failure to follow the manual supplied by the manufacturer may pose a threat to the user.
- Protect the child safety seat against sunlight. Otherwise the product may be too hot for your child’s skin.
- Never leave the child in the child restraint system unattended.
- Luggage and other items which may pose a bodily injuries in case of collision must be properly secured.
- It is not advisable to use the child restraint system without its upholstery. It is forbidden to use other upholstery than recommended by the manufacturer because it is an integral part of the product and affects its functions.
- Keep the child safety seat manual when you use the product.
- It is forbidden to use other points of contact than described in the manual and marked on the child restraint system.
- In case of any doubts about the position of the safety belt buckle for adults in relation to main points of contact, please consult the child restraint system manufacturer.
Use the child safety seat in the following way
- Rear car seats are the most dangerous seats for the child safety seat.
- The child safety seat is intended for car seats in a forward-facing position only. The child safety seat must not be assembled on car seats in a rear or side-facing position.
- Some vehicles do not have suitable seats for this kind or other kind of child safety seat.
- In case of doubts, please ask the child safety seat manufacturer or seller.
Wrong place for child safety seat
- The place in which you assemble the child safety seat must be equipped with a 3-point safety belt (group I, II, III). Airbags must be deactivated.
- The place in which you assemble the child safety seat must be equipped with a 3-point safety belt (group I, II, III).
2.1 Seat liner
For protection of your child
- The seat liner (K) in your car is intended for babies, improves their comfort and provides additional support. If the child needs more space in the child safety seat, remove the seat liner.
2.2 How to adjust the headrest height
- The headrest of the child safety seat can be set at 6 levels.
- Pull the headrest height adjustment lever (N) to adjust the headrest height.
- Choose a suitable height of the headrest for your child; make sure the headrest does not press against the child’s arms and child’s head is not higher than the upper part of the headrest.
2.3 How to secure the child with child safety seat belts properly.
- Loosen shoulder belts in accordance with the manual
- Do not pull protective cushions located on the belts.
- Press the red button on the buckle (J) to unfasten 5-point safety belts and open the buckle with belts (I).
- Next place child safety seat belts on sides, put the child in.
- Adjust the headrest height (see chapter 2.2).
- Adjust the height of the shoulder belts (see chapter 2.4). Pull the belts tension adjustment (M) so that belts fit tight the child’s arms. Make sure the cushion touches the child’s arm and is not twisted with belts.
- Join the right and left part of the child safety seat belts.
- Put two parts of the belts into the buckle until you can hear a distinctive „click”.
2.4 How to adjust child safety seat belts.
The child safety seat belts can be set at 3 levels.
- Check if the height of 5-point safety belts is suitable for your child. The belts must go through slits located at arms level or slightly above. Remove tips of shoulder belts attached to the safety belt connector (Q). Pull both belts through slits in the child safety seat backrest. Again pull the belts (from the front to the back of the product), this time through slits whose height corresponds to the size of your child. Put the belts into the relevant hole and attach the belts to the belt connector (Q).
To loosen belts:
- Press the belt tension adjustment button (F).
- Gently pull both safety belts of the child safety seat with another hand, this is how you can loosen the belts.
To tighten belts:
- Pull the belt tension adjustment (M)
- Make sure the belts are not too tight for your child.
Note! Do not transport your child in its jacket.
2.5 How to disassemble and install 5-point child safety seat belts.
Before you assemble the child safety seat for group II and III, please disassemble the child safety seat belts.
- A. How to remove 5-point safety belts.
- Press the belt tension adjustment button (F), loosen 5-point safety belts and unfasten belts.
- Remove tips of shoulder belts attached to the safety belt connector (Q).
- Pull both belts through slits in the child safety seat backrest.
- Pull the buckle of the child safety seat belts through the hole in the fabric covering.
- Pull the metal buckle through both holes in the child safety seat.
- B. How to install 5-point safety belts.
- Pull the metal buckle through the hole in the fabric covering. Next pull the buckle through both holes in the child safety seat. S
- Put the shoulder belts (H) of the child safety seat in two slits (8) located in the child safety seat backrest.
- Attach belt tips to the belt connector (Q).
Note! After you have installed 5-point belts, make sure the child safety seat shoulder belts are not twisted.
How to assemble the child safety seat in the car
3.1 Group I (9-18 kg), the child secured with child safety seat belts.
- Place the child safety seat on the car seat, make sure the product adheres to the backrest.
- Take the car seat belts out. Pull the shoulder part of the belt through the guide between the headrest and child safety seat backrest. Carry the hip belt through the red guide, below the elbow rest (E).
- Pull the shoulder belt with hip belt through the belt guide in the backrest (P) (from the front to the back of the product). Pull further at the back, behind the child safety seat casing.
- Next pull the belt through the second guide in the backrest, marked in red (P) (from the back to front of the product). See: fig. 18 and 19
- Pull both belts under the second elbow rest of the child safety seat (E).
- Fasten the belts until you can hear a distinctive „click”.
- Make sure the belt is not loose. Keep the child safety seat with your knee, close to the car seat. Tighten the safety belt towards the retractor as much as you can.
- Unfasten child safety seat belts and then put the child in. Fasten 5-point safety belt, put two parts of the belts into the buckle (I) until you can hear a distinctive „click”. See: fig. 22
- Choose a suitable headrest height (2.2), pull safety belts so that they fit tight the child’s arms. Make sure the belt protective cushion touches the child’s arms and is not twisted with belts. See: fig. 24 • Set the suitable length of belts. To do so, pull the tension adjustment strap (M).
3.2 Group II, III (15-36 kg),
The child secured with 3-point car seat belts.
- Before you initiate installation, remove 5-point safety belts. See: fig. 32 – step-by-step instructions above (sub-chapter 2.5, sub-point A).
- Place the child safety seat on the car seat. Press it against the seat with your knee to make sure it fits tight the backrest.
- Put the child in the child safety seat, adjust the headrest height to the child. To do so, pull the headrest height adjustment lever (N). See: fig. 8
- Take car seat belts out.
- Pull the shoulder belt through the headrest guide (O). See: fig. 33
- Pull the hip belt through under the elbow rest, through the red guide (E). See: fig. 34
- Pull both belts through under the second elbow rest (E) of the child safety seat and fasten the belt until you can hear a distinctive „click”. See: fig. 35
- Make sure the belt is not too loose. Tighten the safety belt towards the retractor. The belt must be sufficiently tight but must not constrict child’s movements or press against it. See: fig. 21
Note! Check safety belts. The safety belts must go through the shoulder guide in the upper part of the backrest and hip guide in the lower part of the product.
Important! Do not use the child safety seat for other purposes than
defined in the manual, for example do not transport heavy items in the child
safety seat.
Remember! The safety belt must be carried in accordance with the manual.
How to remove the covering
- Lift the headrest as high as you can. See: fig. 8
- Remove the covering from the headrest, 5-point safety belts, seat liner and the entire child restraint system. See: fig. 25 – 28
- Next, to separate the backrest and seat: keep the seat of the child safety seat with one leg and push the backrest backwards with your hand. Hinges will unlock, now you can separate the top and bottom. See: fig. 36
- Remove elastics of the child safety seat covering from fasteners. See: fig. 37
Cleaning
- Check the seat for damage and wear periodically.
- If you can find any damaged parts, stop using the child safety seat.
- Keep the child safety seat clean to prolong its life.
- Do not expose the seat to sunlight for a long time.
- Wash the seat fabric manually, with warm water, use soap or soft cleaning agents.
- After washing, do not let the child safety seat go dry in the sun.
How to clean belt and base:
- • Use sponge, soap and warm water – do not use other cleaning agents.
