IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Read this instruction manual carefully before using the appliance and keep it for future reference. If you give this product to another person, please also make sure that you give them this instruction manual.

  1. Use the appliance only for its intended purpose. Improper use may result in an electric shock, fire or serious injury and may void the warranty.

  2. Neither Westinghouse nor the dealer can accept any liability for damage to the appliance or personal injury resulting from failure to observe the correct electrical connection procedures, improper use, or incorrect operation.

  3. This appliance is for household use only. It is not suitable for commercial, industrial, or outdoor use.

  4. Only use the appliance to make filter coffee.

  5. This appliance is intended to be used in households and similar applications such as:
    – Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments.
    – Farmhouses.
    – Hotels, motels, and other residential-type environments.
    – Bed and breakfast type environments.

  6. DANGER OF ELECTROCUTION! Do not immerse the coffee maker, or power cord, or plug in water or any other liquids. Never place electrical parts of the appliance under running water (see CLEANING AND CARE).

  7. This appliance can be used by children aged eight years and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities, or lack of experience or knowledge if they are properly supervised or instructed on how to use the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning, operating, maintenance or connecting the appliance to the power supply should not be made by children under the age of eight.

  8. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF BABIES AND CHILDREN Coffee can remain hot for a considerable time after brewing and can be a scald hazard. Keep the coffee maker and power cord out of the reach of children (under the age of 8).

  9. This appliance is not a toy. Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

  10. Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by or near children.

  11. Ensure that the water is not filled above the maximum mark (MAX 1.25 L) on the appliance.

  12. CAUTION! Do not switch the coffee maker on unless it is filled with the minimum amount of water (2 cups). Always fill the water tank before plugging the appliance into the wall socket. Never operate the appliance without any water inside it.

  13. Only fill the appliance with cold, fresh drinking water.

  14. CAUTION! Ensure that the lid is fully closed and the coffee pot is on the hot plate before switching the coffee maker on.

  15. The use of accessories or fittings other than the original parts supplied with this appliance may result in an injury, fire, or damage and will void the warranty.

  16. Never leave the appliance unattended while it is in use.

  17. DANGER OF BURNS:
    – Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles, buttons, or knobs.
    – Keep your hands and face at a safe distance from escaping steam and use caution when pouring hot coffee from the coffee maker. Pour slowly and do not over-tilt the coffee pot to prevent splashes.
    – Extreme caution must be used when moving the coffee maker if it contains hot coffee.
    – The scalding hazard remains long after the coffee has brewed.

  18. Do not open the lid during the brewing process.

  19.  Follow the cleaning and maintenance instructions detailed in the CLEANING AND CARE section of this instruction manual.

  20. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged, dropped, or malfunctions. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment.

  21. WARNING! Do not attempt to repair the coffee maker yourself. For servicing and repairs, contact the retail outlet, the manufacturer, or an authorized center.

  22.  RISK OF SUFFOCATION! KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN – Keep all packaging materials out of the reach of babies and children.

INSTALLATION LOCATION

  1. Place the appliance in a dry location on a firm, level, non-slip and heat-resistant surface as close as possible to the wall socket.
  2. Do not operate the appliance on an inclined surface.
  3. Keep the appliance and power cord away from naked flames and hot surfaces such as hotplates, hobs, and burners.
  4. DANGER OF ELECTROCUTION! Do not place the coffee maker on an enclosed surface, such as a serving tray, as this could cause water to accumulate under the appliance and create a hazard.
  5. DANGER OF ELECTROCUTION! Do not place or use the appliance near water or in humid environments, such as a bathroom, or where water might drip or splash on it.
  6. DANGER OF ELECTROCUTION! Never store the appliance where it can fall into a tub or sink. If the appliance falls into water or becomes wet in any way, do not touch it. Disconnect it immediately from the power supply. Then take it to the retail outlet, the manufacturer, or an authorized center.
  7. DANGER! KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF BABIES AND CHILDREN Install the appliance where it cannot be reached by children or pets.

POWER SUPPLY

  1. Before first use, make sure the power voltage matches the information on the appliance rating label.
  2. Only connect the appliance to an earthed wall socket.
  3. To avoid overheating, fully unwind the power cord.
  4. Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of tables or countertops.
  5. A short power cord should be used and arranged to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over the power cord. Do not change the power cord to a long power cord or use an extension cord with this product. Have a qualified electrician install a wall socket near the appliance.
  6. Arrange the power cord so that no one can catch, trip or step on it accidentally.
  7. Do not cover the power cord or place it under a heavy object.
  8. Make sure the power cord is not crushed or bent especially where the power cord attaches to the appliance and the plug.
  9. If the power cord or plug is damaged, do not use the appliance and return it to the manufacturer, an authorized service agent, or a similarly qualified person.
  10. Always unplug the appliance from the wall socket when it is not in use, before repositioning, in the event of a thunderstorm or malfunction, and prior to cleaning and storing. Allow the kettle to cool down completely before cleaning and storing.
  11. Removing the power plug is the only way to separate the appliance completely from the power supply. Make sure the power plug is easily accessible.
  12. Disconnect from the power supply by pulling the power plug. Do not pull on the power cord.
  13. Do not plug in the power cord or operate the appliance with wet hands or when standing on a wet floor.
  14. For additional electrical safety, you are advised to use a residual current device (RCD / Safety Switch) with a tripping current not exceeding 30 mA in the household wall outlet supplying power to your appliance. Consult a qualified electrician if you are not sure how to proceed.

BEFORE FIRST USE

  • Remove all packaging from the appliance.
  • Unpack all parts and check for damage that may have occurred during transport. If any parts are damaged or missing, do not use the appliance and return it to your retail outlet immediately.
  • Make sure you remove the coffee spoon stored in the filter compartment.
  • Flush the coffee maker with water. Do not add coffee. Fill the water tank (5) up to the MAX mark, brew, and then discard the water. Repeat 2-3 times. Clean and dry all parts thoroughly (→ CLEANING AND CARE).

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

The coffee maker can brew 10 cups of coffee from 1.25 L of water. You can use the permanent filter provided or insert regular coffee filters (size 1 x 4). The automatic hot plate keeps coffee warm for up to 30 minutes.

ASSEMBLING AND USING THE COFFEE MAKER

  1. Open the lid (4).

  2. Insert the coffee filter: a. Place the filter basket (1) in the filter compartment. Place a paper filter into the filter basket (1). OR
    b. Insert the permanent filter (2) into the filter basket (1) in the filter compartment.

  3. Add ground coffee to the filter (1/2).
    NOTE: We recommend using 1 level tablespoon per 1 cup of coffee and then adjusting according to your personal taste.

  4. Fill the water tank (5) with cold drinking water to the desired level as shown on the water level gauge (6).
    NOTE: Ensure the water level is above the minimum level (2 cups) and below the maximum marking (MAX 1.25 L / 10 cups).

  5. Close the lid (4).

  6. Place the coffee pot (7) on the hot plate (8) making sure it is in the correct position.

  7. Plug the power cord (10) into the wall socket.

  8. Press the ON/OFF switch (9) left towards the I marking to turn on the coffee maker.
    • The ON/OFF switch (9) illuminates when the coffee maker is on.

  9. Once the coffee has filtered through to the coffee pot (7), the hot plate (8) will keep it warm for 30 minutes after which it will automatically turn off.

  10.  To manually switch off the coffee maker at any time during or after use, press the ON/OFF switch (9) right towards the O marking and the indicator light turns off.

  11. Unplug the coffee maker from the wall socket when it is not in use.

The brewing process displays a gauge
It shows the brewing process from start to finish when the pointer is in the Black Bar area.
After brewing is completed, it turns to keep warm function. 10-40 is the keep warm time. It can keep warm up to 30 minutes.

CAUTION

  • Never place an empty coffee pot (7) on the hot plate (8) while it is still warm.
  • Pour the coffee slowly, ensuring the coffee pot (7) is never at more than a 45-degree angle to prevent spilling the coffee and possibly scalding yourself.
  • Do not overfill the coffee maker, as hot coffee may splash out from the coffee pot (7).
    NOTE: The amount of coffee in the coffee pot (7) will be slightly less than the amount of water you put into the water tank as ground coffee absorbs some of the water.

PAUSE AND POUR
The pause-and-pour function allows you to pour a cup of coffee before the brewing process has finished. When you remove the coffee pot (7), the appliance will pause the brewing process, and then recommence when you replace the coffee pot. Make sure you do not remove the coffee pot (7) for more than 30 seconds.

CLEANING AND CARE

CAUTION

  • Always unplug the appliance from the wall socket and let it cool down before cleaning.

  • Do not immerse the coffee maker, power cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
    Never rinse them under the tap or expose them to moisture.

  • Never use solvents, chemical or abrasive cleaning agents, wire brushes, sharp objects or scouring pads to clean the appliance.

  • Do not put any part of this appliance in the dishwasher.

General cleaning

  1. Open the lid (4), take out the filters (1/2) and throw away the used ground coffee and paper filter (if using).

  2. Remove the coffee pot (7) and pour away any leftover coffee.

  3. Clean the filter (1/2) and the coffee pot (7) with a soft cloth in warm water with mild detergent. Rinse with clean water to remove all soap residues and dry thoroughly.

  4. Wipe the outside of the coffee maker and the interior of the filter compartment with a soft cloth moistened with water or mild detergent solution. Dry completely with a soft, dry cloth.
    NOTE: Water droplets may build up in the filter compartment or on the underside of the lid (4). Wipe dry after each use.

  5. Periodically fill the water tank (5) with cold water to rinse it. The water tank (5) is not removable. Tip the water out to empty it or press the ON/OFF switch (9) to the on position I and run the coffee machine through a brewing cycle. Make sure the coffee pot (7) and the empty filters (1/2) are in place.
    NOTE: Do not clean the water tank with a cloth or detergent as this may leave residues that can clog your coffee maker.

Descaling
Limescale is present in tap water and will build up over a period of time depending on how hard or soft the water is in your area.
Descale your coffee maker once every 3 months if you live in an area with soft water, or once every month if you live in an area with hard water. Regular descaling ensures proper function, and product longevity, and saves energy.
To descale with a commercially available descaling solution:

  • Choose a descaler suitable for plastic coffee makers and follow the package instructions.
  • Make sure you rinse the coffee maker fully after descaling to flush out any chemical residues.

To descale with white vinegar:

  1. Open the lid (4).
  2. Fill the water tank (5) to the MAX level with a vinegar solution of 50 percent water and 50 percent white vinegar. You can increase the amount of vinegar if your coffee maker is particularly dirty.
  3. Make sure the coffee pot (7) and the empty filters, (1/2) are in place.
  4. Press the ON/OFF switch (9) to the on the position I to start brewing.
  5. After brewing 2 cups, press the ON/OFF switch (9) to the off position O and let the solution stand for 15 minutes.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until the water tank is empty.
  7. Fill the water tank with fresh water and brew at least 3 times to remove any trace of the vinegar solution.

Tips to reduce scale build-up

  • Empty the water tank after each use.
  • Do not allow water to stand overnight in the water tank.
  • Use filtered water instead of tap water or mineral water.

NOTE:

  • Always clean the appliance before storing it for a long time.
  • Store the appliance in its original packaging in a cool, dust-free, dry environment away from direct sunlight.
