This document is the user manual and contains all the information for correct, efficient and safe use of the product.

This user manual is addressed to the end user. Read this information carefully before installing or using the product.

Product description

Intended use

The Nedis KACM260EBK is a coffee maker with a water reservoir for up to 10 cups of coffee.

The product is intended for indoor use only.

This product is not intended for professional use.

This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision.

The product is intended for use in household environments for typical housekeeping functions that may also be used by non-expert users for typical housekeeping functions, such as: shops, offices other similar working environments, farm houses, by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments and/or in bed and breakfast type environments.

Any modification of the product may have consequences for safety, warranty and proper functioning.

Safety instructions

WARNING

  • Ensure you have fully read and understood the instructions in this document before you install or use the product. Keep the packaging and this document for future reference.
  • Only use the product as described in this document.
  • Do not use the product if a part is damaged or defective. Replace a damaged or defective product immediately.
  • Do not drop the product and avoid bumping.
  • Unplug the product from the power source and other equipment if problems occur.
  • Do not use the product to heat anything other than water.
  • If the surface is cracked, immediately disconnect the product from the power supply and do not use the product anymore.
  • Do not let the power cable hang over the edge of a table or counter.
  • Do not place the product in a cabinet when in use.
  • Place the product on a stable and flat surface.
  • Ensure no water enters the power outlet.
  • Connect to a grounded outlet only.
  • Do not unplug the product by pulling on the cable. Always grasp the plug and pull.
  • Do not let the power cable touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not expose the product to direct sunlight, naked flames or heat.
  • Never immerse the product in water or place it in a dishwasher.
  • Do not remove the top lid while the brewing cycle is in progress.
  • Do not open the water reservoir during use.
  • Unplug the product when not in use and before cleaning.
  • Unplug the product from the power source before service and when replacing parts.
  • Children of less than 8 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
  • Usage by children should be supervised at all times.
  • This product is not a toy. Never allow children or pets to play with this product.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision.
  • Do not move the product during operation.
  • Do not touch any hot surfaces.
  • The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the product is operating.
  • Do not fill the water reservoir above the MAX indicator.
  • This product may only be serviced by a qualified technician for maintenance to reduce the risk of electric shock.

Installation

  • Check the contents of the package
  • Check that all parts are present and that no damage is visible on the parts. If parts are missing or damaged, contact the Nedis B.V. service desk via the website: www.nedis.com.
Before first use

1. Clean the reusable mesh coffee filter A1, brewing chamber A2, coffee jug A6 and the water reservoir A9 with soap and rinse with water.

  • When you first use this product, perform two full brewing cycles without coffee to clean the inside of the product.

Use

Brewing coffee
  • Do not fill the water reservoir above the  MAX indicator.
  • Do not touch any hot surfaces.

1. Open the lid A8.

2. Fill the water reservoir A9 with 150 ml clean water for every cup of coffee.

3. Place the reusable mesh coffee filter A1 and the brewing chamber A2 into the brewing chamber holder A3.

4. Add grounded coffee into A1.

  • Usually one level spoon of grounded coffee is needed for one cup of coffee. Adjust the amount according to your personal taste.

5. Distribute the ground coffee evenly.

6. Close A8.

7. Place the coffee jug A6 on the base Ae.

8. Plug the power cable Aw into a power outlet.

9. Press the power button A7 to start the brewing cycle.

  • A7 lights up.
  • Do not open the lid A8 while the brewing cycle is in progress.
  • Press A7 to cancel the brewing cycle.

10. Wait one minute after the brewing cycle has finished to allow all the coffee to drip into A.

11. Take A6 from Ae.

12. Fill your cup with the brewed coffee.

  • Be careful, hot steam may escape.

13. Press A7 to switch off the product.

14. The product automatically switches off after 40 minutes.

15. Unplug Aw from the power outlet.

16. Discard the used ground coffee.

Maintenance

  • Unplug the product from the power outlet and allow it to cool down before cleaning and maintenance.
  • Do not immerse the product in water.
  • Do not expose the electrical connections to water or moisture.
  • Do not use aggressive chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, acid or acetone when cleaning the product.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children under the age of 8 and without supervision.
  • Do not attempt to repair the product. If the product does not operate correctly, replace it with a new product.
  • Clean the product regularly with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Avoid abrasives that can damage the surface.

1. Clean all detachable parts in hot water with dish soap.

2. Clean the outside of the product using a soft, damp cloth.

3. After cleaning, dry the parts completely.

Descaling the product

1. Open A8.

2. Fill A9 to the  MAX  indicator with one part white vinegar (or household descaler) and three parts of cold water.

3. Place A12 into A3.

4. Close A8.

5. Place A6 onto Ae.

6. Plug Aw into the power outlet.

7. Press A7 to switch on the product.

8. Wait a few minutes after the brewing cycle has finished to allow all the water to drip into the jug.

9. Leave the descaling solution in A6 for 15 minutes.

10. Allow the product to cool down.

11. Remove, rinse and place back A6.

12. Repeat the above steps with a fresh water-vinegar mixture.

13. Rinse the product three times with only cold water.
