OZOFRESH Eclipse 4000 Ozone Air Care Generator

YOUR NEW ECLIPSE 4000

The Eclipse will destroy those unwanted odours that are familiar with rented properties, second hand and rental cars, B&B’s, smallhotels, caravans and boats. The Eclipse will eliminate airborne pollutants, bad bacteria, mould, mildew spores, completely removing them and leaving the area smelling fresh

This “budget” ozone machine is ideal for small businesses, landlords, letting agents, car valet shops for removing odours when there are no time constraints. It is popular with cleaning companies as a first purchase of an ozone generator to see the power that ozone treatments can provide.

DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY

Model No. Eclipse 4000. This unit fully complies with CE rules of EMC regulations: EN 61000-61, EN 61000-63, EN61000-32, EN61000-33.

This unit is for indoor use only and has the necessary instructions of use and warnings attached to the outside of the enclosure with a reference to the Owners’ manual, service and the limitations of use. It also bears the mandatory information such as a suppliers name, CE marking, fuse, voltage and current ratings etc.

This unit is RoHS compliant (restriction of hazardous materials).

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

  1. This ozone generator is intended for Commercial / Industrial and Domestic users. Any other user should seek advice from an expert before considering using this generator. All users of this product should assume full responsibility for the correct use as well as any damage or injury that may arise through its incorrect use.
  2. All users should fully acquaint themselves with the contents of the MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET, which forms an integral part of this operating manual.
  3. The Eclipse is capable of producing ozone concentrations Low enough for treatment of Occupied spaces as well as High enough for Shock treatments of Unoccupied spaces. The resultant ozone concentration (in ppm) will depend on the volume of the treated zone, leakage ventilation, temperature, humidity, period of ozone production , and load of the treated space. Due to all of these variables, it is impossible to determine likely ozone concentrations with any level of accuracy, suffice to state that in most applications, the Eclipse is capable of exceeding the 0.2ppm Short-Term Exposure Limit within a matter of a few minutes in small rooms. It is also important to note that the concentration of ozone is considerably higher in close proximity to the ozone generator. Treatment of Occupied spaces should only be carried out under controlled conditions where Ozone concentration monitors and/or alarms and/or automatic shut-off controls are installed. It is the responsibility of the user to ensure appropriate measures are taken to keep people and pets from entering the treatment zone, and to warn them of the dangers.
  4. At or below the Occupational Exposure Limit (0.1ppm), the ozone smells like very fresh air immediately after a thunderstorm. As the concentration increases toward 0.2ppm, it exhibits a sharp “bleachy” odour. A strong smell of ozone normally indicates an ozone concentration which exceeds the 15 minute exposure limit (0.2ppm). At this concentration, irritation or soreness within the throat may be experienced. Itmust be re-iterated that due to different nose sensitivities, the smell of ozone should not be relied upon to indicate the likely ozone concentration.
  5. Ozofresh and its authorised distributors/agents accept no responsibility for any damage or injury caused by this product or damage which may arise through its use by the purchaser or by others. The purchaser is responsible for ensuring that this product is correctly installed, operated, maintained, and used only by persons made aware of the safety requirements and its safe use.

General safety warnings

  • The unit is not waterproof or splash-proof, and is intended only for indoor use. Do not allow water to enter the unit. Water entry will present a danger of electrocution as well as damage the ozone plate. Water damage is excluded from the Warranty.
  • Do not handle the generator with wet hands whilst it is connected to a power supply.
  • Connect only to a properly earthed power supply of the voltage stated on the unit (230V AC in the UK).
  • Do not open the generator enclosure whilst it is connected to a power supply
  • The Eclipse utilizes very high voltages to generate ozone, and as such, should not be used in extremely high humidity environments – especially where a moisture mist or fog is visible. This will also drastically reduce the ozone output!
  • Keep the generator out of reach of children and unplug when not in use.
  • The generator should be kept under lock & key when not inuse, and only used by persons acquainted with the contents of this user manual.
  • Do not use this generator in an environment where flammable gases or explosive materials are present.
  • Ozone is a strong oxidiser and can corrode readily oxidisible metals and lactoprene materials (latex and natural rubber).
  • The person(s) operating the equipment should ensure that nobody enters the treatment zone until it is safe to do so. It is preferable to lock all access points where possible, and to append notices at all possible entry points which make it evident that access is prohibited and dangerous.
  • Provided that good ventilation is provided after suspending the ozone generation (in Unoccupied Shock Treatments), a period of at least 30 minutes should be allowed before entry is allowed into the treated zone. However, where suitable protective breathing apparatus is used, this condition does not apply.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Ozone output: 5000mg/hr
Dimensions: 300 x 180 x 140 mm
Weight: 2.5kg approx.
Mains supply: 220-240V/25W via mains switch, with fuse and IEC mains cable
Coverage: 150m3
Specification and colour of the product may change without prior notice unless previously agreed.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Only connect the generator to a power supply of the correct voltage as indicated on the product information label which is affixed to the enclosure.

  2. Vacate people, pets, plants, and materials (mainly latex & natural rubber components and fabrics which may be sensitive to colour change) which may be sensitive to moderate to high ozone concentrations.

  3. Set the Eclipse ozone generator at an elevated position close to the centre of one of the sides of the treatment zone.

  4. Close all doors, windows and air vents.

  5. In large volume spaces, it is desirable to provide a fan to assist in circulating the ozone

  6. Switch on the red power switch – the red neon light built into the switch will light up

  7. The fan will be operating.

  8. Lightly press and release the timer button switch on the top of the unit for the desired program number is displayed. The unit will then start producing ozone.

  9. Confirm that the generator is producing ozone. When the unit is running, the fan can be heard and the sound of electric discharge (sparks) can be heard. You can safely wait a short while to detect the smell of ozone – but do not inhale directly from the generator exit.

  10. Leave the room.

  11. After the desired treatment time, ozone will cease and the unit will be in standby mode,

  12. Allow the room to vent for a minimum of 30 to 45 minutes to allow the residue ozone to degrade.

  13. Then switch the unit off and continue to ventilate the treatment zone. This should be extended to 1 hours if the room cannot be effectively ventilated.

Program / Timer Modes

Program Ozone Generation Time Usage Scenario
1 15 minutes Light odours small room
2 30 minutes Light odours

medium size room

3| 45 minutes| Stronger odours and/or large room
4| 60 minutes| Stronger odours and/or large room

Please call us if you need advice on the program selection for a different room size or odour issue.

Notes:

  • The generator may not start making ozone immediately after switching it on when the temperature is very low, or the humidity is very high. Ozone generation will begin once the ozone plate warms up after a few seconds.
  • The treatment time should be extended when the temperature exceeds 30°C, or when the humidity is over 75%.

MAINTENANCE & SERVICING

Ozone output will be reduced if the ozone plate is dirty, and as such, needs to be cleaned from time to time. The ozone plate may also need to be replaced if it becomes faulty, or there is a noticeable reduction in ozone output.

The ozone plate can simply be cleaned by removing it and rubbing it down with a soft, clean, dry cloth to remove dust and other contaminants.
