Description – the purpose of use

EXTOL 42084 USB Car Charger

  • Intelligent in-car USB charger with display and measurement of the car battery voltage, alternator, charging voltage, and current with two USB charging ports 1 A/5 V and 3.4 A/5 V, which are intended for charging a wide range of electronic devices with a USB charging connector (mobile phones, etc. Android, Apple, tablets, cameras, etc.) via a 12 V or 24 V car socket, also serving to determine the car battery voltage and the charging voltage of the alternator.

  • The USB charger features important intelligent protection elements thanks to which electronics can be safely charged. The protection elements include:
√ Over-voltage protection on the output
√ Over-current protection on the output
√ Over-current protection on the input
    √ Short circuit protection
√ Protection against battery discharge on the charged device during under- voltage in the vehicle‘s socket
√ Protection against overcharging of the battery in the charged device

  • This makes the USB charger an ideal in-car accessory.

  • Two USB charging ports enable the charging of 2 devices at the same time.

  • On the display of the charger without using the buttons, the current-voltage in the vehicle‘s socket is regularly shown, by means of which it is possible to measure the car battery voltage when the engine is not running; and then when the engine is running the measurement of the circuit will show the charging current of the alternator and then also the charging current and charging voltage in the USB port (output parameters).

  • The electronics of the USB charger will set the optimal charging current for the safe charging of the battery since an excessively large charging current could damage the battery or could result in a fire.

  • The charger will automatically stop charging when the charging voltage or current is not safe with respect to the battery that is being charged, and also when a battery is fully charged, i.e. this prevents overcharging the battery.
