INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
HIGH BAY LED RETROFIT KIT
Step 1:
Disconnect power from the fixture.
Step 2:
Remove existing linear fluorescent lamps as shown in Figure 1 . Dispose of
lamps per local regulations.
Step 3:
Remove wiring compartment cover to access existing ballast and set aside.
(See Figures 2, 3,4)
Step 4
Cut the leads from the ballast to the socket housing on both ends of the
fixture as shown in Figures 5-6.
Step 5:
Cut the leads from the input power to the ballast.
See Figure 7.
NOTE: Cut leads at the ballast leaving as much length as possible to
facilitate installation of the driver. Strip wires as necessary.
Step 6:
Remove the ballast by removing the ballast mounting screw(s) from the fixture
and dispose of properly per local regulations. See Figure 8.
Step 7:
Mount the driver into the fixture wiring compartment on a flat surface. The
driver mounting surface must be set flush to the fixture for proper thermal
management. Install the driver where possibleusing existing crow’s feet or
mounting holes and the provided two drill point screws with serrated heads.
Ensure the driver is properly grounded. See Figure 9.
Step 8:
Position the light bars approximately centerline between the existing lamp
sockets of the outer four reflectors as shown in Figure 10. Secure each light
bar to the reflector with the (6) provided self-tapping screws shown in Figure
11.
Step 9:
Connect red leads from both light bars to the red lead wire of the LED driver
with the supplied orange 3-position connector by pushing into the open slot.
Repeat for blue leads. See Figure 12.
Step 10: Connect the input power lead wires of the LED driver to the
branch circuit power conductors Figure 13 as indicated on the wiring diagram
shown on the LED driver label. See Figure 15.
NOTE: Optional 0-10Vdc Analog Dimming interface
- Use Violet (+) and Gray (-) for connection to 0- 10Vdc.
- Capping Violet and Gray leads separately provides 100% light output.
- Wiring Violet and Gray leads together provides minimum light output.
- The dimming control connections on the LED driver are for Class 2 wiring methods only. Separate the dimming control field wiring from the branch circuit field wiring in the wiring compartment in accordance with the National Electrical Code.
Step 11:
Replace wiring compartment cover. Take care not to pinch the red and blue
leads between the cover and the fixture. See Figure 14
Step 12:
Place the re-lamp label at a visible location in the fixture.
