  • Unbox the robot vacuum cleaner and accessories, being careful to remove all parts from the packaging.
Remove and safely discard any packaging material or promotional labels attached to the set. Before using the robot vacuum cleaner and the accessories supplied, check for any visible signs of damage. Do not use a damaged appliance or damaged accessories.

  • After unboxing the robot vacuum cleaner, follow the following steps to prepare it before first use.

  • Step 1: Remove the protective strips from the sides of the robot.

  • Step 2: Install the left and right side brushes on the bottom of the robot.
    Qilive-Q-5932-Connected-Robot-Vacuum-Cleaner- \(8\)

  • Step 3: In an uncluttered area, place the charging station flat against a wall on a level floor surface. For more tips on positioning the charging station, see “4.2. POSITIONING THE CHARGING STATION” on page 12.

  • Step 4: Plug the AC adapter into a wall outlet and connect the power cord to the charging station. The Power indicator on the top of the stand lights up.

  • Step 5: Place the front of the robot onto the charging station, making sure the two charging contacts on the charging station match up with those under the robot. When the charging starts, you hear a beep and the Recharging indicator starts blinking. For more tips on charging the robot, see “4.3. CHARGING THE ROBOT” on page 12.

POSITIONING THE CHARGING STATION
Place the charging station under an easily accessible socket-outlet, on a horizontal surface, against a wall, perpendicular to the ground, in the uncluttered area leaving the following distances around it:

  •  At least 0.5 meter on each side of the charging station.
  • At least 1.5 meters in front of the charging station.
  • At least 1.5 meters away from the stairs

NOTES

  • Any objects placed in front of the charging station will prevent the robot vacuum cleaner from auto-charging itself. Keep the area clear.
  • The charging station can not be placed in areas with reflective objects and surfaces, as well as strong reflection, such as direct sunlight or nearby mirrors.
  • When the floor is made of wood, install the charging station in the same direction as the grain of the wood.
  • Always keep the power plug plugged into the socket-outlet. If no power is supplied to the charging station, the robot vacuum cleaner will not be able to find the charging station and will not be able to charge automatically.
  • Ensure that the indicator light on the charging station illuminates when plugged in, otherwise the robot cannot automatically return to it for recharging.
  • Arrange the power cord along the wall so that it does not tangle in the brushes or wheels of the robot vacuum cleaner.

CHARGING THE ROBOT

  • You should manually charge the robot fully before using it for the first time. During charging, the Recharging indicator blinks. It takes about 5 hours to fully charge the robot with an empty battery.

  • When charging is complete, the Recharging indicator becomes steadily on.

Manual charging

To manually charge the robot, place the front of the robot onto the charging station, making sure the two charging contacts on the charging station match up with those under the robot. When the charging starts, you hear a beep and the Recharging indicator starts blinking.
Notes:

  • Keep the front side of the robot at a distance from the charging station, to ensure that the robot charging contact pins are perfectly aligned with the charging  contact pins of the charging station.
  • If the robot is off, it will automatically turn on before the charging starts.
  • The robot ships with a partial battery charge. If you start a cleaning cycle before charging the battery fully, the robot may return to the charging station to recharge sooner than it will during future cleaning cycles.

Automatic recharging
Automatic recharging can occur in one of the following ways:

  • If the robot starts a cleaning cycle from the charging station, it will return to the charging station for recharging after completing the cycle.
  • If its battery gets low before finishing a cleaning cycle, the robot returns to the charging station to recharge. After its battery has been recharged, the robot automatically resumes, completes the cleaning cycle, and returns to the charging station.
  • You press the Recharging button on the robot or remote control when the robot is on and away from the charging station. The robot turns on the Recharging indicator and starts returning to the charging station.

Notes:

  • Do not reposition the charging station during the cleaning, or the robot may fail to return to the charging station for recharging.
  • You cannot turn off the robot when it is charging.
  • Before leaving the robot unused for a long time, turn off the robot and unplug the AC adapter to lower your energy bill.

PREPARING THE REMOTE CONTROL

  • WARNING: This remote control contains small batteries. Keep the remote control away from children and do not swallow the batteries. If a battery is swallowed, seek medical advice at once.
  • The robot comes with a remote control to allow you to easily operate the robot from a short distance.
  • You can start using the remote control after switching on the robot and insert the supplied batteries into the remote control. When using the remote control, make sure:
    • You are less than 9 meters away from the robot.
    • You point the remote control at the robot.
    • There is a clear line of sight between the robot and the remote control.

The remote control is powered by 2 AAA batteries. Follow the steps below to insert or replace batteries:

  1. Open the battery compartment.
  2. If you are replacing batteries, remove the old batteries.
  3. Insert the supplied or other new batteries with correct polarity(+/-) indicated.
  4. Close the battery compartment.

Notes:

  • Replace the batteries when they are flat or in case of leakage.
  • Only use the type of batteries specified in this manual.
  • Before leaving the remote control unused for a long time, remove the batteries from the remote control.
  • Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries, do not disassemble the batteries, and do not throw them into a fire.
  • Do not expose batteries to high temperatures or direct sunlight.
  • Do not dispose of batteries with household waste. To protect the environment, dispose of batteries in accordance with current regulations.

POWERING ON/OFF THE ROBOT

  • To turn on the robot, press and hold the Power button on the robot until you hear 2 beeps. Once turned on, the robot turns on the Power indicator and enters standby mode.

IMPORTANT TIPS BEFORE CLEANING

  1. Remove small objects (toys, ornaments, puzzles, etc.) or fragile and lightweight items (such as china, ceramics, glass objects, vases, small flowerpots, etc.) from the area to be cleaned in advance.
  2. Remove objects such as clothes, books, belts, loose papers, towers, pads, small rugs, power cords scattered on the floor before cleaning, as they can become entangled in the brushes or driving wheels. If the robot vacuum cleaner passes over a power cord, long table cloth, etc., and drags it, there is a chance an object could be pulled off a table or can be overturned.
  3. Remove the sharp and hard objects from the floor, which could scratch surfaces.
  4. Lift items such as long table cloths, curtains, blind cords off the floor.
  5. The robot vacuum cleaner is not designed to thoroughly clean carpets or rugs. Do not use it to vacuum long-haired or thick, fluffy carpets. For carpets with long fringes, tassels, fold the tassels under the carpet to prevent them from getting tangled or caught in the robot brushes.
  6. Wind up all loose power cords.
  7. The robot vacuum cleaner is more efficient in spaces with as few obstacles as possible. Place the furniture, such as chairs, in their place.
  8. Dark coloured surfaces may reduce the efficiency of cliff sensors. Cliff sensors prevent the robot vacuum cleaner from working and vacuuming dark-coloured floors or carpets with darkcoloured patterns and from falling on stairs or off the edges. If the sensors are not cleaned periodically, they may lead to improper operation of the robot vacuum cleaner.
  9. If there is a step, stairs or a balcony in the cleaning area, a physical barrier at the edge of the drop zone is required to restrict the access to that area and to ensure the safe operation of the device.
  10. Do not use the robot vacuum cleaner in wet or moist environment (e.g. bathroom), on wet surfaces or surfaces with standing water. Do not use the robot to vacuum up any liquids, wet dirt or wet areas, as this could damage the device.

USING DIFFERENT CLEANING MODES
Depending on different requirements and floor types, the robot vacuum cleaner has different cleaning modes to choose from.
Tip: When the robot is cleaning, press the Decreasing/Increasing suction power button on the remote control to adjust the suction power.
