Warnings and Cautions
- Review the diagrams thoroughly before beginning.
- All electrical connections must be in accordance with local codes, ordinances, and the National Electric code.
- Disconnect power at fuse or circuit breaker before installing or servicing.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not mount in hazardous locations or near gas or electric heaters.
- Do not let power cords touch hot surfaces.
- Equipment should be mounted in locations and at heights where it will not be subjected to tampering by unauthorized personnel.
- The use of accessory equipment not recommended by the manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.
- Do not use this equipment for other than intended use.
- All servicing should be performed by qualified personnel only.
- Allow the battery to charge for 24 hours before first use.
Mounting Instructions
Wall Mounting
- Turn off electricity before starting.
- Remove mounting plate from the fixture.
- Knockout in the back of the mounting plate and push wires through the hole.
- Securely attach the mounting plate to J-box. Max mounting height is 7.98ft (2.4m).
- Connect the battery to the connector on the PCBA.
- Snap the fixture onto the mounting plate ensuring no wires are pinched. Make sure the unit is fully attached.
- Restore power and press the test button. The battery-powered LED will come on, AC light will turn off.
Ceiling Mounting
- Open the top cover and knockout on the top of the fixture.
- Secure the mounting plate to the tube with a nut.
- Make the proper supply wire connections. Connect the black and white wires to the building utility.
- Reference steps 4-7 in wall mounting above for ceiling mounting.
