Safety information

Keep other persons well away from your workplace.
The work area is out of bounds for children and unauthorized persons. Never allow other persons to touch the device or cable.

WARNING

Protect yourself against electric shocks. Connecting the control unit incorrectly poses a risk of injury due to electric shock and can damage the device.

• Only use the supplied, detachable power supply unit (T0058771809).
• If the device is faulty, active electrical conductors may be bare or the PE conductor may not be functional.
• Repairs must always be referred to a Weller-trained specialist.
• If the electrical tool‘s power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced with a new power supply cord available through the customer service organization. If the electrical tool‘s power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced with a specially prefabricated power supply cord available through the customer service organization.
• Protect yourself against electric shocks.
• Avoid touching earthed objects such as pipes, heaters, cookers and refrigerators.

CAUTION!
To provide continued protection against risk of electric shock, connect to properly grounded outlets only.

• The power cable must only be plugged into the power socket or adapter approved for this purpose. Check to see if the mains voltage matches the ratings on the nameplate. Make sure the machine is switched off before plugging in.

• Do not use the cable for purposes other than those for which it is intended. Do not use the cable to pull the plug out of the socket. Protect the cable against heat, oil and sharp edges.

• Be alert. Pay attention to what you are doing. Be smart when using the unit. Do not use the device if you are having difficulty concentrating.

• Avoid abnormal posture. Arrange your work station in an ergonomically correct way. Avoid bad posture when using the unit, as this can lead to postural problems. The device must be operated only in  perfect technical working order.

• Use the correct tool. Use only accessories or auxiliary devices which are included in the list of accessories or approved for use by the manufacturer. Use WELLER accessories or auxiliary devices on original WELLER equipment only.

• Secure the tool. Use clamping fixtures to hold the workpiece.

Above-normal contamination levels in the ambient air during cleaning work on the pipe system/extraction area

• If suction capacity is impaired by build-up within the pipe system, replace the contaminated parts
• A saturated activated carbon filter will not be able to capture harmful substances. The harmful substances will be released back into the environment unfiltered.
• Observe the recommended filter replacement intervals.
• High concentrations of harmful gases can lead to overheating of the activated carbon and possibly trigger spontaneous combustion of the filter.
• Run the unit on clean air for several minutes before switching off.

Specified Conditions Of Use

This filtration system is suitable for the extraction and filtration of particles and gases, depending on the filter medium used.
WARNING

• Particles and gases which are unsuitable for the filter medium in use may not be extracted.
• Liquids and flammable gases may not be extracted
• Never use the device without a filter or with a full filter.

This device may only be used at room temperature and indoors. The unit is designed for use as a surface extraction unit and is not suitable for extracting fumes directly from the soldering gun. Intended use of the soldering station/ desoldering station also includes the requirement that you

•  comply with national accident prevention guidelines applicable at the place of use.

Notes on operation, Care and maintenance

WARNING

Before doing any work on the machine, pull the plug out of the socket.

• Check all connected cables on a regular basis.
• If power tools are damaged, they must be immediately removed from use.
• Repairs must always be referred to a Weller-trained specialist.
• Use original replacement parts only.

WARNING

External Power Supply:
Mount plug type appropriate for your region by slipping into the power adapter until the plug clicks in.
To ensure that the filtration system functions properly, the filter must be replaced as follows

• at least once a year or when indicated or
• if the maximum allowable workplace concentration is exceeded or as per maintenance schedule
• The suspended matter filter and the broadband gas filter are complementary to one another and can be replaced together as a compact filter. The compact filter must be changed once a year in order to ensure it is fully functional. The fine dust filter (filter mat) is the preliminary stage of the compact filter and therefore must be replaced more frequently.
• It is strongly recommended that the compact filter be replaced after no more than 10 fine dust filter changes.
• The red warning light is flashing
• Recommended service life of filter has expired. Indicates that the filter needs changing. Reset the warning with the reset function on the control panel and schedule a filter change.
• The red warning light is lit continuously
• Extraction capacity is too low. Switch off the filter unit. Check the nozzles and tubes, and clean them if necessary. If the red warning light comes on again the next time the unit is turned on, the filter must be changed.
• NOTICE
• Different fluxes and flux constituents and the amount of and size of dust particles in the extracted air will significantly effect the filters working life. Submicron particles in the extracted air increase when soldering or welding to varnish insulated wire.
• CAUTION!
  • Contaminated filters must be treated as special waste.
  •  Dispose of replaced equipment parts, filters or old devices in accordance with the rules and regulations applicable in your country.
