Husqvarna AUTOMOWER Robotic Lawn Mower
Product Information
The product is a robotic lawn mower manufactured by Husqvarna.
It is designed to automatically mow lawns and maintain the grass at an optimal
length. The product comes with various features and components, including a
cover, charging socket, connections, sealing cap, ON/OFF button, LED
indicator, connectors, stakes, wire for the zone boundary wire, and a USB-C
charging cable. The product is compliant with applicable EU and UK Directives.
Product Usage Instructions

- To prepare for installation:
- Use the included parts for installation.
- Contact your Husqvarna representative for additional parts if needed.
- To install the product:
- Put the zone boundary wire around the stay-out zone.
- Cut the 2 ends of the zone boundary wire.
- Attach 1 connector to each end of the zone boundary wire.
- Attach the 2 connectors (A) to the 2 connections on the product (B).
- Use a hammer or a plastic mallet to attach the zone boundary wire with stakes into the ground. Put the stakes at a maximum of 75 cm / 30 in. distance from each other.
- Put the product in the stay-out zone and attach it to the ground with stakes using a hammer or a plastic mallet.
- Enable the Zone Generator function of your robotic lawn mower. Refer to the Operator’s manual of the robotic lawn mower for instructions.

With Automower® FlexiFence you can install a stay-out zone in the work area
for the robotic lawn mower in which it cannot enter and cut the grass.
To use the Automower® FlexiFence with the Automower® robotic lawn mower it can
be necessary to update the firmware for the Automower® robotic lawn mower.
Speak to your Husqvarna representative for more information.
The Automower® FlexiFence must not be used in public areas, parks, sport
arenas, or in agriculture or forestry.

Safety
Safety definitions
Warnings, cautions and notes are used to point out specially important parts
of the manual.
WARNING: Used if there is a risk of injury or death for the operator or
bystanders if the instructions in the manual are not obeyed.
CAUTION: Used if there is a risk of damage to the product, other
materials or the adjacent area if the instructions in the manual are not
obeyed.
Note: Used to give more information that is necessary in a given
situation.
Safety instructions for operation
WARNING: Read the warning instructions that follow before you use the
product.
- This product may be used under supervision, or if instruction regarding the safe use of the product has been provided and the resulting dangers have been understood, by persons with physical, sensory or mental disabilities or a lack of experience and knowledge. Children must not play with the product.
- Children are not allowed to be unsupervised in the stay-out zone. When the battery is empty or if the FlexiFence is overheated, the zone is no longer protected.
- This product makes an electromagnetic field while it operates. This field may under some conditions interfere with active or passive medical implants. To decrease the risk of conditions that can possibly injure or kill, we recommend persons with medical implants to speak with their physician and the medical implant manufacturer before you operate the product.
- Small parts can be easily swallowed. There is also a risk that the polybag can suffocate toddlers. Keep toddlers away when you assemble the product.
- If used incorrectly or if the batteries are damaged, flammable liquid may be ejected from the batteries. Contact with this liquid should be avoided. If contact accidentally occurs, rinse off with water. If the liquid comes into contact with your eyes, seek additional medical attention.
- Only charge the product in dry indoor areas.
- Do not remove the battery from the product.
- An USB power supply unit is not included with this product. It is recommended to use a third party power supply according to the power supply unit specification, refer to Technical data on page 14. Before you use the third-party USB power adapter, check that it complies with national and international safety standards for safety extra low voltage (SELV).
- Do not use the product and its peripherals in bad weather conditions, especially when there is a risk of lightning.
- Follow the maintenance instructions.
- For safe disposal of the battery.
- Operation and storage temperature range is 0-40 °C / 32-104 °F. Too high temperatures can cause damage to the product.
- Charge the battery at ambient temperatures 4-30 °C / 39-86 °F. The full charging power is available from 15 °C / 59 °F.
Installation
WARNING: Read and understand the safety chapter before you install the
product.
CAUTION: Use original spare parts and installation material.
Note: Refer to the Operator’s manual for the robotic lawn mower or
www.husqvarna.com for more information about installation.
Installation of the product
To prepare for the installation of the product
- Charge the battery of the product. Refer to To charge the battery.
- Install the stay-out zone in the work area of the robotic lawn mower, but not across a guide wire.
- Make sure that the FlexiFence and all objects in the FlexiFence area are minimum 35 cm / 14 in. from the zone boundary wire (A).
- Make sure that the minimum distance from the zone boundary wire to the boundary wire of the work area (B) is 60 cm / 24 in.
- Make sure that the minimum distance from the zone boundary wire to the guide wire (C) is 60 cm / 24 in.
- If you use more then 1 FlexiFence unit, make sure that the minimum distance between the 2 zone boundary wires is 60 cm / 24 in.
- Make sure that the slopes in the FlexiFence area are not more than 10%.
- Make sure that the length of the zone boundary wire is maximum 15 m / 50 ft.
- Do not put the zone boundary wire across the same zone boundary wire or a different zone boundary wire installation. This can cause interference with the product and the zone boundary wire.
- To put the FlexiFence at a distance to objects, read the section To examine where to put the boundary wire in the Operator’s manual for the robotic lawn mower.
Note: Use the included parts for installation. You can speak to your
Husqvarna representative to get more parts for installation.
To install the product
- Put the zone boundary wire around the stay-out zone.
- Cut the 2 ends of the zone boundary wire.
- Attach 1 connector to each end of the zone boundary wire.
- Attach the 2 connectors (A) to the 2 connections on the product (B).
- Use a hammer or a plastic mallet to attach the zone boundary wire with stakes into the ground. Put the stakes at a maximum of 75 cm / 30 in. distance from each other.
- Put the product in the stay-out zone and attach it to the ground with stakes with a hammer or a plastic mallet.
- Enable the Zone Generator function of your robotic lawn mower. Refer to Operator’s manual of the robotic lawn mower.
Note: If the product does not have the Zone Generator menu, a firmware
update of the robotic lawn mower is necessary.
To do a test of the installation
- Set the product to ON and make sure that the LED indicator is green.
- Make sure that ECO mode of the robotic lawn mower is disabled. Refer to ECO Mode in the Operator’s Manual for the robotic lawn mower.
- Put the robotic lawn mower 1-2 m in front of the stay-out zone. Make sure that the robotic lawn mower points forward to the stay-out zone.
- Start the robotic lawn mower and make sure that it stops by the zone boundary wire.
Operation
To charge the battery
Charge the battery fully before you start the product for the first time. The
battery is fully charged when the LED indicator is constant orange. The
product does not operate while it charges.
- Remove the cover of the product.
- Remove the sealing cap of the product.
- Connect the USB-C charging cable into the charging socket.
- Connect the USB-A charging cable into a power supply unit.
- Connect the power supply unit to a power outlet.
- Examine if the LED indicator on the product flashes orange to make sure that the battery charges.
Note: The 5 V power supply unit with USB socket is not included.
Note: If the product is not used for a long time, charge the battery to a
minimum of 60% each 3 months. Charge the battery of the product to a minimum
of 60% before you start the product after long-term storage.
LED indicator of the battery capacity
The LED indicator comes on when the battery state of charge of the product is
less than 10%. To show the LED indicator when the battery state of charge is
more than 10%, push the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds.

To start the product
- Push the ON/OFF button on the product for 2 seconds.
- Examine if the LED indicator on the product is green to make sure that the product is on.
To stop the product
- Push the ON/OFF button on the product for 2 seconds.
- Examine if the LED indicator on the product flashes white. The product is off when the LED indicator goes out.
Maintenance
To clean the product
CAUTION: Do not use a high-pressure washer or running water to clean the
product. Do not use solvents for cleaning.
- Use a moist cloth to clean the product.
Troubleshooting
LED indicator of the product
The LED indicator comes on when the battery capacity of the product is less
than 10%. To show the LED indicator when the battery state of charge is more
than 10%, push the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds.
- Solid light – The battery state of charge is more than 30%.
- Flashes slowly – The battery state of charge is 10-30%.
- Flashes quickly – The battery state of charge is less than 10%.

wire for the work area, replace the boundary wire if it is defective.
Make sure that the boundary wire for the work area is instal- led correctly.
Make sure that the charging station of the robotic lawn mower is connected to
a power outlet.
Disable the ECO mode.
Red LED| The temperature of the product is too high.| Put the product in an
area with protection from the sun. Let the temperature of the product decrease
before you start the product.
If the problem remains, speak to your local Husqvarna representative.
Symptoms
Symptom | Cause | Solution |

The robotic lawn mow- er stops with the fault message “Zone genera- tor
problem”.| The battery of the Flex- iFence is low. The Flex- iFence does not
oper- ate when the battery is empty. The robotic lawn mower can cut in the
stay-out zone if you start the robotic lawn mower before you charge the

The FlexiFence is auto- matically set to off be- cause the temperature in the
FlexiFence is a higher than the maxi- mum limit.| Put the product in an area
with protection from the sun. Let the temperature of the prod- uct decrease
before you start the product.
The robotic lawn mow- er enters the FlexiFence zone.| Software transfer prob-
lem.| Push the ON/OFF but- ton for 15 seconds to restart the product.
Storage and disposal
To put the product into storage
WARNING: Put the product in an area where a child cannot get access to
the product.
- Charge the battery of the product.
- Clean the product.
- Put the product into storage in a dry, closed and frost-free area.
Disposal
- Obey national regulations.
- Use the local recycling system.
- Do not dispose the battery as usual domestic waste. The battery contains lithium-ion cells.
CAUTION: Only qualified personnel can remove the battery.
For more information about removal of the battery, speak to your Husqvarna
representative.

Warranty
Husqvarna warranty covers this product’s functionality for a period of 2 years from date of purchase. The warranty covers serious faults relating to materials or manufacturing faults. Within the warranty period, we will replace the product or repair it at no charge if the following terms are met:
- The product may only be used in compliance with the instructions in this Operator’s Manual. This manufacturer’s warranty does not affect warranty entitlements against the dealer/retailer.
- End-users or non-authorized third parties must not attempt to repair the product.
Examples of faults which are not included in the warranty:
- Damage caused by water seepage from using a high-pressure washer.
- Damage caused by lightning.
- Damage caused by not using Husqvarna original spare parts and accessories.
- Damage caused by non-authorized changing or tampering with the product.
