Safety Instructions

Position on a flat, stable surface.

A service agent/qualified technician should carry out installation and any repairs if required. Do not remove any components on this product.

DO NOT immerse the appliance in water.

DO NOT clean with jet/ pressure washers.

DO NOT move or carry the appliance when it is switched on.

DO NOT operate the appliance without water in the outer container.

Keep the lid closed when not serving.

Suitable for indoor use only.

Always switch off and disconnect the power supply to the appliance when not in use.

This appliance must only be used in accordance with these instructions and by persons competent to do so.

Keep all packaging away from children. Dispose of the packaging in accordance to the regulations of local authorities.

If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an BUFFALO agent or a recommended qualified technician in order to avoid a hazard.

BUFFALO recommends that this appliance should be periodically tested (at least annually) by a Competent Person. Testing should include, but not be limited to: Visual Inspection, Polarity Test, Earth Continuity, Insulation Continuity and Functional Testing.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

BUFFALO recommend that this product is connected to a circuit protected by an appropriate RCD (Residual Current Device).
Introduction
Please take a few moments to carefully read through this manual. Correct maintenance and operation of this machine will provide the best possible performance from your BUFFALO product.

unpacking the contents are supplied fully functional and free of damage.
Should you find any damage as a result of transit, please contact your BUFFALO
dealer immediately.
Installation
Fit the Lid
- Slot the lid on top of the appliance.
Note: The lid is hinged in the middle. Lift one half of the lid to access the container.
Attaching Labels
- Slide the relevant label into the magnetic label holder.
- Attach the holder to the side of the appliance.
Note: If the desired label is not included, simply write the name of the product on the reverse of one of the labels.
Operation

Connect the appliance to the mains power supply.

Fill the outer container with approximately 600ml of water. Do not exceed the MAX marking.

Carefully place the inner container into the appliance.
Note: The inner container must NOT float, even when empty. If the container floats reduce the amount of water in the outer container. -
Fill the inner container with hot soup and close the lid.
Note: If necessary, remove any excess water from the outer container. -
Set the temperature control. The temperature ranges from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest).

The Power light will come on and remain on and the kettle will begin to heat up.
Note: Kettle is not designed to heat food from cold. -
Reduce the temperature to maintain heat levels. To maintain temperature, BUFFALO recommend the lowest heat setting possible.

Use a suitable implement to remove the contents of the kettle. DO NOT tip the kettle to remove the contents.

To turn the appliance Off, set the Temperature Control to ‘0’.
WARNING: Never move or carry the appliance when it is switched on or contains hot liquid.
Cleaning, Care & Maintenance
- Always turn off and disconnect the appliance from the power supply before cleaning.
- Clean any spilt food on the appliance immediately.
- Use soapy water and a damp cloth to clean the exterior of the appliance.
- The inner container and lid are machine washable.
- Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
Descaling
In hard water areas lime scale can build up within the appliance after
prolonged use. To descale the appliance.
- Remove the lid and inner container first.
- Pour a solution of de-scaler and water into the outer container.
- Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the de-scale solution with reference to the length of time required to soak, agitation, water temperature and on how to dispose of the solution safely.
- Fill the outer container with clean water and turn the appliance On to flush out the system. Flush out the system thoroughly to remove any de-scaler residue.
- The appliance is now ready for use.
Note: Use a suitable descaler and always follow the manufacturer’s instructions. BUFFALO recommend that this appliance is descaled every 3 months or more frequently in hard water areas.

Electrical Wiring
This appliance is supplied with a 3 pin BS1363 plug and lead.
The plug is to be connected to a suitable mains socket.
This appliance is wired as follows:
- Live wire (coloured brown) to terminal marked L
- Neutral wire (coloured blue) to terminal marked N
- Earth wire (coloured green/yellow) to terminal marked E
This appliance must be earthed.
If in doubt consult a qualified electrician.
Electrical isolation points must be kept clear of any obstructions. In the event of any emergency disconnection being required they must be readily accessible.
