People could be injured or objects damaged by a faulty door.
▶ Only take the door into operation when it is in a faultfree condition.

WARNING
Door movements
People could be injured or objects damaged by door movements.
▶ Make sure that no persons or objects are in the door’s closing area during door operation.
▶ Never use the door to lift objects or persons.
▶ Do not reach into the guide, inlet, chain, toothed wheel or return pulley during door operation.

The doors must be fitted in an upstream system. The cleaning cycles of the equipment (dust accumulation) depends on the IP protection category.
It is essential that only devices are installed that feature device ignition protection methods for the respective zones! During installation, make sure to abide by the national valid installation regulations, e.g. EN 60079-14. Other important factors:
– Installation in the Ex-area may only be carried out in compliance with local installation regulations. Please observe the following instructions (incomplete):
– Fitting and maintenance only in non-explosive atmospheres and with a fire permit.
Warning: A fire watch must usually still be performed 24 h after completion of fitting. Observe all potential restrictions posed by fitting components and accessories!

The door may only be put into operation in zones 2 and 22 (category 3G, EPL and 3D, EPL Dc) and zones 1 and 21 (category 2G and 2D, EPLDb) by professionals who meet the requirements of a qualified person according to TRBS 1203. It is mandatory to  observe the information on the data label.

  • Observe the notes in these operating instructions as well as the conditions of use and permissible data shown on the printing / data labels of the respective products.

  • Only products which are suitable for operation in the zone on-site and for which the relevant documents are available may be connected to the circuits.

  • The high-speed door must be adequately protected in adverse environmental conditions.

  • Potential equalization must be achieved. It must be handled in acc. with the construction regulations in the country of application (VDE 0100 part 540, IEC 364-554).

  • Direct electrostatic charging of high energy on the equipment – which can lead to propagating brush discharges – is not permitted (this usually cannot be generated by human contact).

  • The national requirements must be considered to ensure the discharge of electrostatic charges. There are generally several possibilities for this, which – if available – are to be applied additively:
    – Fitting of the high-speed door on an electrostatically conductive surface (e.g. a steel frame that has a connection to the system PA)
    – The high-speed door can have a potential equalization connection on the fitting surface (marked with the potential equalization symbol or ****). The potential equalization of the system / building must be connected here.
    – The effectiveness of the curtain conduction to the potential equalization should be checked once per year.

  • The system may only be operated with electrostatic earthing.

  • Direct hazardous electrostatic discharge is not permissible. Usually such a discharge cannot be generated by humans. It usually requires compressed air nozzles or similar equipment.

  • The plastic curtain has an electrostatically conductive coating and is conductively connected to the potential equalization. The effectiveness of the discharge must be checked at regular intervals in accordance with local requirements (recommendation: 1× per year) using suitable measuring equipment.

  • If cable ducts or other external plastic parts > 100 m² are installed in IIB or > 20 cm² in IIC, they must be electrostatically safe.
    – ESD warning labels may also be affixed in the appropriate places as required.

  • Dust deposits may not exceed 2 mm.

  • Parts that have become stuck (for example due to frost or corrosion) in potentially explosive atmospheres may not be forcefully removed. Icing must therefore be avoided.

  • The door consists primarily of aluminium in certain versions. It is essential that impacts from the outside, e.g. of rusty parts, are avoided.

  • The high-speed door is only approved for operation fully fitted and undamaged. Operation is prohibited if damaged.

  • Simple electrical equipment can be fitted in attached housing; it may be used in intrinsically safe electrical circuits. In all cases the manufacturer has to prepare a control drawing (proof of intrinsic safety) and include it with the delivery documentation.

  • Prevent the high-speed door from coming into contact with corrosive media.

  • The high-speed door must not – or only after consultation with the manufacturer and then with special measures – be used in systems with electrical corrosion protection. Equalizing currents may not be conducted over the construction.

  • Only accessories that comply with the requirements of the European directives and national legislation may be used in potentially explosive areas.
Installation in the Ex-area may only be carried out in compliance with local installation regulations. Please observe the following instructions (incomplete):
    – Fitting and maintenance only in Ex-free atmospheres, taking into account the user country regulations.
    – Additional precautionary measures must be taken if the presence of hydrogen sulphide, ethylene oxide and / or carbon monoxide is expected. These substances have a very low ignition energy!
    – Only non-arcing tools may be used with these substances and all substances in explosion group IIC if the presence of a potentially explosive atmosphere is expected!

  • The maximum paint application may not be more than 80 μm.

  • Pay attention to external heat sources during fitting (sunlight).

  • Consultation with the manufacturer and, if necessary, a conversion is required for frequency converter operation.
