Safety warnings
General tool safety warnings
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term “tool” in
all of the warnings listed below refers to your mains operated (corded) tool
or battery operated (cordless) tool. Save all warnings and instructions for
future reference.
WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and
specifications provided with this tool. Failure to follow all instructions
listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
Using your tool
Always take care when using the tool.
- Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
- Do not expose the tool to rain or wet conditions. Water entering the tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
- Do not immerse the tool in water.
- Only use the tool in daylight or good artificial light.
- Do not operate your tool in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
- The tool is not to be used as a toy.
- Do not open the body casing. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
- Disconnect the battery from the tool when not in use, before fitting or removing parts, and before cleaning.
WARNING: Only use the battery cartridges and chargers recommended by the
manufacturer. Use of any other battery cartridges and chargers may cause
injury and/or fire.
Tool use and care
- Before use, check the tool for damaged or defective parts. Check for breakage of parts, damage to switches, and any other conditions that may affect its operation.
- Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
- Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery cartridge from the tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the tool accidentally.
- Do not use the tool if any part is damaged or defective.
- Have any damaged or defective parts been repaired or replaced by an authorized repair agent?
- Never attempt to remove or replace any parts other than those specified in this manual.
After Use
- Switch off and remove the battery before leaving the tool unattended and before changing, cleaning or inspecting any parts of the tool.
- When not in use, the tool should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated place out of the reach of children.
- Children should not have access to stored tools.
Battery tool use and care
- Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery cartridge may create a risk of fire when used with another battery cartridge.
- Use power tools only with specifically designated battery cartridges. The use of any other battery cartridges may create a risk of injury and fire.
- When the battery cartridge is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
- Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts the eyes, and- tionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
Service
- Have your tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
- Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.
Additional safety warnings for glue guns
The intended use is described in this manual. The use of any accessory or
attachment or performance of any operation with this tool other than those
recommended in this instruction manual can present a risk of personal injury
and/ or damage to property. A fire may result if the tool is not used with
care, therefore:
- Be careful when using the tool in places where there are combustible materials.
- Do not apply to the same place for a long time.
- Do not use it in presence of an explosive atmosphere.
- Be aware that heat may be conducted to combustible materials that are out of sight.
- Allow the tool to cool down before storage.
- Do not leave the tool unattended when it is switched on.
- Do not touch the heated nozzle of the Glue Gun. The operating temperature of this tool is approximately 175°C.
- Keep hands away from the heated attachment and work area. Heat may be conducted through the workpiece. Use clamps or pliers to hold the workpiece.
- The heating element will begin to heat up as soon as the tool is switched on. To avoid injury or damage to property always assume that the tool is hot.
- Protect the work surface and materials from heat damage. Heat may be conducted through the workpiece. Use heat-resistant material to protect the work surface.
- Glue sticks are not intended for ingestion and should not come in contact with food, etc. If swallowed, seek medical attention. Keep out of the reach of children.
- Before cleaning. Remove the battery from the tool and allow it to cool.
- Never attempt to force cool the tool after use by immersing any part of it in water or any other liquid. Allow the tool to air cool only.
- Keep the tool away from all flammable material. Be aware that this product may ignite the material. Where this is a concern, test a piece of scrap material.
- Never leave the tool unattended. After use, remove the battery from the tool, allow it to cool, and store it in a safe place out of the reach of children.
- Fumes resulting from heating materials for craft activities may be hazardous. Always work in a well-ventilated area. Seek advice on the materials being used.
- Never attempt to insert any material other than recommended glue sticks, sealer, or caulk sticks in the glue gun. For example: Do not attempt to melt crayons or candles.
- DO NOT use hot melt glue to take the place of structural fasteners.
- The glue sticks used with this glue gun will begin to soften at about 60 °C. Don’t use glue on objects or materials that are subjected to heat.
- Avoid accidental glue discharge. Forcing glue sticks into an unheated tool may damage the tool or cause hot glue to be unexpectedly expelled from the nozzle when the operating temperature is achieved. Glue may discharge from a heated tool without pressure applied to the trigger (1). Use heat-resistant material to protect the work surface.
- This tool is not a toy. Keep out of the reach of children.
Safety of others
- This tool can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the tool in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the tool. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the tool.

Important safety instructions for battery cartridge
- Before using the battery cartridge, read all instructions and cautionary markings on (1) the battery charger, (2) the battery, and (3) the product using the battery.
- Do not disassemble the battery cartridge.
- If the operating time has become excessively shorter, stop operating immediately. It may result in a risk of overheating, possible burns, and even an explosion.
- If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse them out with clear water and seek medical attention right away. It may result in loss of your eyesight.
- Do not short the battery cartridge: (1) Do not touch the terminals with any conductive material. (2) Avoid storing battery cartridges in a container with other metal objects such as nails, coins, etc. (3) Do not expose battery cartridges to water or rain. A battery short can cause a large current flow, overheating, possible burns, and even a breakdown.
- Do not store the tool and battery cartridge in locations where the temperature may reach or exceed 50°C (122°F).
- Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even if it is severely damaged or is completely worn out. The battery cartridge can explode in a fire.
- Be careful not to drop or strike the battery.
- Do not use a damaged battery.
- The contained lithium-ion batteries are subject to the Dangerous Goods Legislation requirements. For commercial transports e.g. by third parties, for warding agents, the special requirements on cartridge aging and labeling must be observed. For the preparation of the item being shipped, consulting an expert for hazardous material is required. Please also observe possibly more detailed national regulations. Tape or mask off open contacts and cartridge up the battery in such a manner that it cannot move around in the cartridge aging.
- Follow your local regulations relating to the disposal of batteries.
CAUTION: Only use genuine Bormann batteries. Use of non-genuine Bormann batteries, or batteries that have been altered, may result in the battery bursting causing fires, personal injury, and damage. It will also void the Bormann warranty for the Bormann tool and charger.
Tips for maintaining maximum battery life
- Charge the battery cartridge before completely discharged. Always stop tool operation and charge the battery cartridge when you notice less tool power.
- Never recharge a fully charged battery cartridge. Overcharging shortens the battery service life.
- Charge the battery cartridge at room temperature at 5°C – 45 °C. Let a hot battery cartridge cool down before charging it.
Intended use
The glue gun is intended to be used only by adults who have read and understood the instructions and warnings in this manual and can be considered respond- sible for their actions. The glue gun is intended for solvent-free gluing of materials such as paper, cardboard, cork, wood, leather, textiles, foam materials, plastic (except PE, PP, PTFE, Styrofoam®, and plasticized PVC), ceramics, porcelain, metal, glass, and stone.

Battery and charger are not included among the items of standard delivery. They are sold separately.

Operating instructions
CAUTION: Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the battery
cartridge is removed before adjusting or checking the function of the tool.
Installing or removing the battery cartridge (fig.1)
CAUTION: Always switch off the tool before installing or removing the
battery cartridge.
CAUTION: Hold the tool and the battery cartridge firmly when installing
or removing the battery cartridge. Failure to hold the tool and the battery
cartridge firmly may cause them to slip off your hands and result in damage to
the tool and battery cartridge and a personal injury.

To remove the battery cartridge, slide it from the tool while sliding the
button on the front of the cartridge.
To install the battery cartridge, align the tongue on the battery cartridge
with the groove in the housing and slip it into place. Insert it all the way
until it locks in place with a little click.
CAUTION: Always install the battery cartridge fully. If not, it may
accidentally fall out of the tool, causing injury to you or someone around
you.
CAUTION: Do not install the battery cartridge forcibly. If the cartridge
does not slide in easily, it is not being inserted correctly
Battery protection system
The tool is equipped with a battery protection system. The tool will
automatically stop during operation if the tool and/or battery are placed
under one of the
following conditions:
Low battery voltage: The remaining battery capacity is too low and the
tool will not operate. In this situation, remove and recharge the battery.
Overheated: The tool does not start when the battery is overheated. In
this situation, let the battery cool before turning the tool on again.
Indicating the remaining battery capacity (Fig.2)

Press the check button on the battery cartridge to indicate the remaining
battery ca- capacity. The indicator lamps light off immediately when releasing
the check button.
NOTE: Depending on the conditions of use and the ambient temperature, the
indication may differ slightly from the actual capacity.
NOTE: Items included in the tool package as standard accessories may
differ from country to country.

Installing or removing the glue sticks (Fig.3-4)

- Insert a glue stick into the inlet of the glue stick chamber located at the rear of the tool.
- Gently squeeze the Switch trigger to locate the glue stick firmly in position, as far as it can go.
- On first use, the glue stick may be completely inserted into the tool. A second glue stick may be required.
CAUTION: Only use low-temperature glue sticks. Replacement glue sticks
are available from your local authorized dealer. Other brands may cause
dangerous malfunctions.
CAUTION: Do not attempt to remove an unused portion of a glue stick from
the tool.
Switch action (fig.5-6)
CAUTION: Before installing the battery cartridge into the tool, always
check to see that the tool is switched off.

To start the tool, slide the On/off switch toward the “I (ON)” position, the
LED indicator light on.
To stop the tool, slide the On/off switch toward the “O (OFF)” position, the
LED indicator light off.
Operation
CAUTION: Be aware that this product may ignite the material. Where this
is a concern, test a piece of scrap material. This tool will become warm
during use. This
is normal and does not indicate a problem. Avoid contact with the nozzle.
CAUTION: Molten glue reaches 1750C. Do not touch applied glue. Keep away
from children.
CAUTION: Glue dispersion may be delayed longer than the time claimed due
to the presence of solidified glue in the unit.
CAUTION: Molten glue and nozzle area will remain hot even after the tool
is turned off or the battery is removed. Squeezing the trigger after the tool
is turned off may dispense melted glue. Allow the tool to cool for 30 minutes
before storing.
Gluing (fig.7)
- Start the tool
- After the glue gun has been turned on for at least 180 seconds, apply the glue by squeezing the switch trigger.
- To glue objects together apply glue to one object and press the second object into the melted glue.
- Hold glued objects together for 5-10 seconds. Heavy applications may require up to a minute for the glue to reach full strength.
Maintenance
CAUTION: Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the battery
cartridge is removed before attempting to perform inspection or maintenance.
NOTICE: Never use gasoline, benzene, thinner, alcohol, or the like.
Discoloration, deformation, or cracks may result.
Regularly clean the tool using a damp cloth. Do not use any abrasive or
solvent-based cleaner. Never let any liquid get inside the tool and never
immerse any part of the tool into a liquid.
