Properties of the tool
Multi-purpose oscillating tool is a regular electric tool of the 2nd insulation class designed principally for finishing works at wood, plastics and metal processing, particularly in corners and in areas that are difficult to reach. The tool permits cutting, grinding, clean surfaces and polish with an adequate insertion tool. Under no circumstances may the tool be used for the purpose of processing other materials than those mentioned above, e.g. for grinding of finishing coats, fiber-reinforced putty, etc. Correct, reliable, and safe functioning of the grinder depends upon its adequate operation, and therefore: Before you proceed to use the tool, read the whole manual and keep it.
Attention! Dust generated while grinding certain surfaces may be harmful and even toxic.
The note above regards for example grinding surfaces coated with lead- containing paints, certain kinds of woods, some metals (e.g. lead) and materials, and therefore during work it is necessary to apply an efficient dust extraction system, dust masks and other means of protection of the skin and respiratory system. The supplier shall not be held responsible for any damage due to failure to observe safety regulations and the recommendations included in this manual.

Safety matters regarding the power tool
Warning! Read all safety warnings, illustrations and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to do so may result in electric shock, fire or serious injury. Keep all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term “power tool” used in warnings applies to all tools driven by power both wired and wireless tools.
Workplace safety
Keep the workplace well-lit and clean. Disorder and poor lighting can be
causes of accidents. Do not work with power tools in an environment with an
increased risk of explosion, containing flammable liquids, gases or vapors.
Power tools generate sparks that can ignite dust or fumes. Children and third
persons should not be allowed to enter the workplace. Loss of concentration an
result in loss of control.
Electrical safety
The plug of the electric cable must match the power socket. You must not
modify the plug in any way. Do not use any plug adapters with earthed power
tools. An unmodified plug that fits the outlet reduces the risk of electric
shock. Avoid contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, radiators and
coolers. Grounding the body increases the risk of electric shock. Do not
expose power tools to contact with atmospheric precipitation or moisture.
Water and moisture that gets inside the power tool increases the risk of
electric shock. Do not overload the power cable. Do not use the power cord to
carry, pull or unplug the power plug from the power outlet. Avoid contact of
the power cable with heat, oils, sharp edges and moving parts. Damage or
entanglement of the power cord increases the risk of electric shock. In the
case of working outside closed rooms, use extension cords intended for work
outside closed rooms. The use of an extension cord adapted for outdoor use
reduces the risk of electric shock.
When using a power tool in a humid environment is unavoidable as a protection
against supply voltage use a residual current device (RCD). The use of RCD
reduces the risk of electric shock.
Personal safety
Stay alert, pay attention to what you do and keep common sense while working
with the power tool. Do not use a power tool when you are tired or under the
influence of alcohol or medication. Even a moment of inattention while working
can lead to serious personal injury. Use personal protective equipment. Always
wear eye protection. The use of personal protective equipment such as dust
masks, anti-slip safety shoes, helmets and hearing protection reduces the risk
of serious personal injury. Prevent accidental operation. Make sure that the
electric switch is in the “off” position before connecting to the power supply
and/or battery, lifting or moving the power tool. Moving the power tool with
the finger on the switch or powering the power tool, when the switch is in the
“on” position can lead to serious injuries. Before turning on the power tool
remove any keys and other tools that were used to adjust it. The key left on
the rotating parts of the power tool can lead to serious injuries. Do not
reach and do not lean too far. Keep the right attitude and balance all the
time. This will allow easier control over the power tool in case of unexpected
work situations. Dress accordingly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry.
Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts of the power tool. Loose
clothing, jewelry or long hair can be caught by moving parts. If the devices
are fitted for the connection of dust extraction or dust collection, make sure
that they are connected and used properly. The use of dust extraction reduces
the risk of dust hazards. Do not let the experience acquired from frequent use
of the tool resulted in carelessness and ignoring safety rules. Carefree
action can cause serious injuries in a fraction of a second.
Use and care of the power tool
Do not overload the power tool. Use the power tool appropriate for the selected application. The right power tool will provide a better and safer job if used according to the designed load. Do not use the power tool, if the electric switch does not allow switching on and off. Power tool, which cannot be controlled by means of a power switch is dangerous and must be returned for repair. Disconnect the plug from the power socket and/or remove the battery if it is detachable from the power tool before adjusting, changing accessories or storing the tool. Such preventive measures will allow you to avoid accidentally turning on the power tool. Keep the tool out of the reach of children, do not let people who do not know how to operate the power tool or these instructions use a power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users. Maintain power tools and accessories. Check the tool for mismatches or jams of moving parts, damage to parts, and any other conditions that may affect the operation of the power tool. Damage must be repaired before using the power tool. Many accidents are caused by incorrectly maintained tools. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp edges are less prone to jamming and are easier to control when working. Use power tools, accessories and inserted tools etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the type and conditions of work. The use of tools for work other than designed is likely to result in a dangerous situation. Handles and gripping surfaces must be dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and gripping surfaces do not allow for safe operation and control of the tool in dangerous situations
Repairs
Repair the power tool only in authorized facilities using only original spa e
parts. This ensures proper operation safety of the power tool.
Operation of the tool
Mounting the inserted tool
Attention! The steps described in this chapter should be carried out only when
the power supply is disconnected. Pull the plug of the tool out from the
socket!
During the installation of the inserted tool equipped with sharp edges, be
careful and use personal protective equipment, in particular protective
gloves. Lift, and then turn for 180 degrees the lever of the quick
installation mechanism (Il). Install the inserted tool which is designed for
the selected type of work. Mount the inserted tool holder on the spindle
handle so that the work was as easy as possible, yet safe. Attention! It is
prohibited to assemble at the place, where the working part of the inserted
tool (blade) would be directed towards the tool operator. Make sure, that the
holes of the tool are inserted in line with the pins of the handle spindle
(III). Attention! It is prohibited to mount the tool of the place where the
inserted tool will be mounted with less than two pins. Attention! It is
possible to install the inserted tools with open or closed mounts. The lever
of mechanism for rapid installation is equipped with protection, which
protects the operator’s fingers against being trapped by the descending lever.
Before you completely lower the lever you should move the protection to the
position which is enabling to close the lever (IV). Turn the lever of the
quick installation mechanisms for 180 degrees, allowing the inserted tool to
be mounted int spindle handle. Push the lever of the quick installation, so as
o protect it from accidental opening during its operation (IV)
Attention! Adapter for grinding may be provided with a pad located in the
mounting hole, before mounting the adapter for grinding, the pad should be
removed from the opening, for example by a small screwdriver.
Mounting the abrasive sheet (V)
When you select as an inserted tool the adapter for grinding, before starting
the work you need to install a sanding sheet on it. The adapter is equipped
with a velcro pad, to which the sanding sheet should be attached in such a way
so the edges of the sheet would be covered with the adapter edges. For
adapters that are equipped with holes for dust extraction, you should apply
sanding sheets with holes. While attaching the sheet to the adapter, you
should ensure that the holes in the sheet would cover the holes in adapter.
Dust extraction (VII)
The tool is equipped with the attached dust extraction system. Dust extraction
fulfills its role only in the case of work performed with the grinding
adapter. The dust extraction should be installed before installing the
grinding adapter. The front part of the exhaust should be translated through
the spindle so, the catches would be blocked on the protrusions of tool
housing. The rear part of the dust extraction should be secured with a clamp
engaging at the bottom row of the rear air vents. The dust extraction outlet
should be connected to an external dust extraction system. In the case of
using an external installation of dust extraction, you should follow the
instructions supplied with these installations.
Installation of the auxiliary handle (VIII)
The tool enables for a two-handed grip, even without a mounted auxiliary
handle, but where the handle will not interfere with the work, e.g. due to
lack of space, it should be installed by firm screwing to the hole in the
housing on the left or right side.
Preparation for work
Remove the plug of the power supply cable from the socket. Before any work
with the tool, it is required to make sure the housing and the connection cord
with the plug are not damaged. In case any damage is detected, it is
prohibited to connect the tool to the mains! Insert the insertion tool
designed for the given kind of work. Wear eye and hearing protectors and
working gloves. Make sure the switch is, OFF”, and then insert the plug of the
power supply cable to the mains socket. Adopt an adequate position, which
guarantees stability during work and turn the tool on using the switch.
Using the tool
Commence work applying the insertion tool to the material to be processed.
During work do not exert excessive pressure against the material being
processed and do not make sudden movements, so as to avoid any damage to the
insertion tool or the abrasive sheet. Due to the level of vibration noise and
dust generated by the tool, it is necessary to make regular breaks during
work. Avoid overloading the tool, the temperature of the external surfaces at
any time must not exceed 60°C. Always use individual protection means: working
gloves, safety goggles and hearing protection. Remove accumulated dust from
the abrasive sheet from time to time. In order to do so turn the tool off and
slightly tap the foot of the grinder. Do not process different materials using
the same abrasive sheet! Once the work has concluded turn the tool off, remove
the plug of the power supply cable from the mains socket, and begin
maintenance and inspection of the tool. The declared total value of vibration
has been measured through a standard measurement method and may be used to
compare different tools. The declared total value of vibration may be used for
the purpose of a preliminary evaluation of exposure. Attention! The actual
vibration while operating the tool may vary from the declared value, depending
on the use of the tool. Attention! It is required to specify the safety
measures to protect the operator, which are based upon the evaluation of
exposure under actual conditions of work (including all the stages of the
working cycle, e.g. the periods when the tool is off or is idling and the
periods of active operation)
Maintenance and Overhaul
ATTENTION! Before any adjustment, technical service or maintenance operations unplug the tool. Once the operations have been finished, the technical conditions of the tool must be assessed by means of external evaluation and inspection of the following elements: body and handle, conductor with a plug and deflection functioning of the electric switch, patency of ventilation slots, sparking of brushes, the noise level of functioning of bearings and gears, start-up and smoothness of operation. During the guarantee period, the user cannot dismantle the electric tools or change any sub-assemblies or elements, since it will cancel any guarantee rights. All irregularities detected at overhaul or during the functioning of the tools are a signal to have the tool repaired at a service shop. Once the functioning has been concluded, the casing, ventilation slots, switches, additional handles,s and protections must be cleansed with a stream of air (at a pressure not exceeding 0.3 MPa), with a brush or a cloth without any chemical substances or cleaning liquids. Tools and handles must be cleansed with a clean cloth.
