INDICATION
It is indicated as a periodontal dressing for protection of sutures in periodontal surgeries.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
It is a surgical cement, to be used after periodontal surgeries, that offers safe local protection for surgical wounds, keeping them clean. It is obtained by mixing its powder and liquid components.Surgical Cement Technew is made of zinc oxide and eugenol and its physical properties make it ideal for use as dressing over wounds, after the surgery. Besides its excellent adhesion and plasticity properties the Surgical Cement is presented in a pinkish coloration, which favors an esthetic result at the wound area.
COMPOSITION
Powder: Zinc Oxide, Zinc Acetate, Rosin and Cellulose, Tannic Acid.
Liquid: Eugenol, Olive oil and colorant DC red 17.
VALIDITY
3 years from manufacture date.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Products which contain essential oil, such as Eugenol, may cause allergic reactions in susceptible people. If there is a report of allergy, discontinue the use.
MODE OF USE
- Mix powder and liquid in such a proportion that it produces a mass with consistency similar to that of the glazier mass.
- Isolate the palm of the hand and the fingers with the cement powder and make a roll in such length that allows it to cover the entire wound and to extend to the surface of the teeth, where it will remain adhered.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
Surgical Cement contains eugenol which may cause irritation to the skin, to the mucous membrane and to the eyes. In case there is prolonged contact, wash the affected area with lots of water. In case of a more serious situation of eye involvement, search for medical assistance. Keep the bottles closed. Recommend patients to avoid chewing over the surgery area, in order to protect the cement and to avoid the accumulation of food in the interface between the cement and the gum. It is also advisable to instruct the patient to use mouthwashes that will keep the wound area clean. Exclusive for dentist’s use.
