Danger of suffocation!
7 OPERATION
7.1 Before use
Before first use, wipe the appliance’s internal surfaces with a damp cloth or a sponge, then wipe them dry with a paper towel. Spread a small amount of butter, margarine or oil on the inside of the appliance.
Attention!
When the appliance is heated or operated for the first time, a trail of
smoke or steam may appear. This is a normal phenomenon that occurs when
new internal components are preheated.
The appliance can be used for toasting toast-type or common bread. Do not
toast slices of bread that are too large or too thick.
Be extremely careful when closing the cover (your fingers may get
caught).
Before turning the appliance on, place it on a stable and flat surface
resistant to high temperatures.
7.2 Turning the appliance on and off
- To turn the appliance on, connect it to an alternating current source whose parameters match those specified on the appliance’s label.
- To turn the appliance off, disconnect it from the alternating current source.
Attention!
The appliance should be connected to a readily accessible socket situated
near the appliance so that the appliance can be disconnected from the
power source immediately in the event any danger arises. The power outlet
must be equipped with protective earth pins.
7.3 Opening and closing the lid
- To open the lid, release the catch.
- To close the lid, fasten the catch. In order not to damage the catch, make sure that the sandwiches fit inside the toaster easily. Do not use excessive force when fastening the catch.
7.4 Toasting bread
1. Before first use, wipe the appliance’s internal surfaces with a damp cloth
or a sponge, then wipe them dry with a paper towel. Spread a small amount of
butter, margarine or oil on the inside of the appliance.
2. Insert the plug into an alternating current network outlet. The power
indicator (red light) will turn on.
3. Close the lid and fasten the catch, so that the appliance heats up faster. During this time you may prepare your sandwiches (to make golden toasted sandwiches you may spread a tiny amount on butter on the outside of the slices).
4. Wait about 2 minutes until the indicator showing that the appliance is
ready to toast sandwiches (green light) turns on (it means that the toasting
plates have reached the suitable temperature), and put the sandwiches on the
toasting plates.
5. Close the toaster lid and fasten the catch. (In order not to damage the
catch, make sure that the sandwiches fit inside the toaster easily.)
6. Open the toaster lid after several minutes to see if the sandwiches are
ready and show the desired golden colour. Beware of hot steam coming out of
the appliance during toasting! (Toasting time depends on the type of food and
on individual taste – on average it is from 2 to 5 minutes).
Attention!
During appliance operation, the green light indicating readiness for
toasting may go on and off. This is a normal phenomenon indicating that
the thermostat, which serves to maintain the desired temperature, is
working properly.
7. After your sandwiches are ready, take them off the plates with a plastic
or wooden spatula. Do not use metal tools or anything that could damage the
surface of the toasting plates. Do not use a fork or knife.
8. After you finish toasting, remove the plug from the socket and let the
toaster cool down.
Attention! In case of triangle plates, it is highly recommended to warm up sandwiches with one slice of cheese only. You should put them into the machine without waiting for the ready indicator to turn on (green light). Proceeding as recommended above will help to avoid cheese leaking from sandwich and making plates dirty.
Warning!
PROCEED WITH UTMOST CAUTION, AS THE TOASTING PLATES ARE VERY HOT.
