(This instruction manual covers various colour versions of the product )

INTENDED USE

The appliance is intended for toasting toast-type bread products and slices of bread.
The appliance is intended solely for indoor use for private purposes.
This appliance is not intended for use in industrial conditions or for commercial purposes.
Please follow this instruction manual for safe installation and operation of the product.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. The appliance may be used by children over 8 years of age and by individuals with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or by individuals lacking the necessary experience and knowledge, provided that they are supervised or use the appliance  afely, in compliance with the instruction manual, and understand the hazards involved .

  2. Children must not play with the appliance .

  3. Children must not perform cleaning and maintenance of the appliance unless they are older than 8 and are supervised by an adult.
    4 . Keep the appliance and its power cord away from children younger than 8 .

  4. Caution! Risk of burns! Parts accessible to the user heat up and become very hot during operation .

  5. The appliance cannot be controlled with an external timer or a remote control system .

  6. Clean the surfaces that come into contact with food and  remove crumbs from the toaster as described in Section

  7. Cleaning and Maintenance.

  8. Bread can ignite and burn – never place the toaster near or under curtains or other flammable materials. The toaster must always be used under supervision .

  9. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the  manufacturer, a service centre or a properly qualified individual in order to avoid hazard .

  10. This equipment is intended for home use and similar uses such as:
    – dining room equipment in the store, office and other work environments
    – on farms
    – in hotel rooms, motels and other environments of this type
    – in boarding houses.
    – in bed and breakfast type of accommodation (B & B).

  11. Detailed instructions concerning safe operation of the appliance can be found in a further part of this instruction manual.

  12. Read the entire manual before you start using the product.

  13. When using electric appliances, especially in the presence of children, basic safety precautions should be observed in order to avoid the risk of fire or electric shock.

  14. This appliance is intended for household use only . Use the appliance only for its intended purposes .

  15. The product is not a toy . Children must not play with the appliance.

  16. To prevent electrocution, do not immerse the plug, the power cord or the appliance in water or other liquids.

  17. Do not hang the power cord over a table or sink edge.

  18. Do not use the appliance near flammable fabrics (curtains, carpets etc.), and do not leave it near sources of heat: gas water heaters, electric cookers etc .

  19. Whenever you intend to use the appliance, first make sure that the voltage specified in the label on the appliance matches the voltage in the mains .

  20. Unfold the power cord before you start using the appliance.

  21. The power cord should not hang freely or touch any hot surface.

  22. The outlet socket and the power cord plug of the appliance should be easily accessible to the user.

  23. Do not cover the appliance during operation . In a situation where the appliance is covered or touches a flammable material, a fire could start.

  24. When operating the appliance, do not put your hands or any objects (utensils, tools etc .) into the toaster . Do not put any objects into the toaster’s slot.

  25. Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is connected to the mains.

  26. Do not operate the appliance when it is damaged or after it malfunctions.

  27. Do not use the appliance after it has been dropped or shows clear signs of damage.

  28. Do not attempt to open the body or dismantle any parts of the appliance.

  29. Retain the instruction manual and the packaging, if possible.

Open the packaging and carefully take the appliance out . Make sure that the set is complete and that its components are undamaged . Check that plastic parts are not broken and the power cord is not damaged. If you find that any components are missing or  damaged, contact the vendor and do not use the appliance. Keep the packaging or dispose of it in accordance with local regulations.
Caution! To keep children safe, do not leave any packaging parts (plastic bags, cardboard boxes, expanded polystyrene elements etc.) freely accessible. Danger of suffocation!

OPERATION

7.1 Before use
Attention!
When the appliance is heated or operated for the first time, some smoke or steam may appear . This is a normal phenomenon that occurs when new internal components are first heated.
Before switching the appliance on, place it on a stable and flat surface resistant to high temperatures .
7.2 Toasting tips

  1. Insert slice(s) of bread into one or two bread slots.

  2. Plug the cord into a power outlet socket.

  3. Set the 7-step toasting time and browning control dial to the desired level . At level 1, the toasted bread is light brown; at level 7, it is dark brown .
    ATTENTION! When toasting one slice, it will come out darker than two slices toasted at the same browning control setting . If slices of bread are toasted one after another, the last slices will be darker than the first.

  4. Press the bread carriage lever downwards to initiate toasting . The CANCEL button (manual switch) will light up .

  5. When the desired toasting level has been achieved, the lever will pop up automatically and the appliance will switch off .
    ATTENTION! Press the CANCEL button any time you want to stop the toasting cycle . When the appliance is operating, the LED on the CANCEL button is lit.

  6. After you have finished using the appliance, disconnect the plug from the power outlet socket .

Reheat button

  1. Press the reheat button to warm up already toasted bread.
  2. Press the bread carriage lever downwards, then press the reheat button to start warming the bread . The CANCEL button (manual switch) and the reheat button will light up.
  3. When the desired toasting level has been achieved, the lever will pop up automatically and the appliance and the LEDs will switch off .

Defrost button:

  1. Press the defrost button to defrost and toast bread.
  2. Press the bread lever downwards, then press the defrost button to start defrosting the bread . The CANCEL button (manual switch) and the defrost button will light up.
  3. When the desired toasting level has been achieved, the lever will pop up automatically and the appliance and the LEDs will switch off.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

8.1 Basic rules
Proper and regular cleaning will ensure safe operation and extend the life span of the appliance.
Warning! Before performing cleaning and care operations, turn the appliance off, disconnect it from the power source and let it cool down, so as to avoid burns and electric shock .
Caution!
Do not clean the appliance with any strong chemicals, alkali, abrasive or disinfecting agents, as they may damage the surface of the appliance.
Do not use metal, sharp or rough cleaning accessories, as they may damage the surface of the appliance!
Do not immerse the appliance or the power cord in water or other liquids! Before you use the appliance again, make sure it is completely dry.

  1. Disconnect the appliance from the power source.
  2. Before cleaning the appliance wait until it cools down.
  3. Wipe the housing with a damp, soft cloth . Never use metal brushes.
  4. Remove the crumb tray from the toaster bottom and empty it . If the toaster is frequently used, bread crumbs should be removed at least once a week. Make sure that the crumb tray is completely closed before reusing the toaster.
  5. Never use caustic or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the appliance.
  6. Do not use vinegar, chlorine or any other chemical compounds to clean the toaster.
  7. Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.

REPAIR

The product does not contain any user-serviceable parts . Do not attempt to make any repairs on your own . Always have a specialist perform repairs . If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, a service centre or a properly qualified individual in order to avoid hazard.

STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION

Always store the device in a dry, ventilated place out of reach for children . Protect the device against vibrations and shocks during transport .

DISPOSAL

Keep the packaging materials out of children’s reach, as the materials can pose a hazard . The packaging should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations .
Correct disposal of the device:

  1. According to the WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU, the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol is used to label all electric and electronic devices requiring segregation.
  2. Do not dispose of the spent product with domestic waste: hand it over to an electric and electronic device collection and recycling centre.
  3. Hazardous components in electronic and electrical equipment have a negative impact on the environment and human health.
  4. Plastics contained in the device can be recycled in accordance with the specific marking. By recycling materials and spent equipment you will help to protect the environment.
  5. Information on electric and electronic devices collection centres is available from local government agencies or from the vendor .

CE DECLARATION

This appliance has been designed, manufactured and marketed in accordance with the requirements of the New Approach Directives. Therefore, the product has been marked with the CE mark and a declaration of conformity has been issued for it, which is made available to market regulators .

WARRANTY

In order to lodge a complaint or file a claim about the product, the appliance must be delivered to the Customer Service Desk at any store of the Biedronka chain.   1. The Warrantor for this product grants a 36-month warranty valid from the purchase date. Should you find any defect, submit a complaint at the place of purchase.
  2. A damaged/faulty product means a product failing to provide the features described in the Instruction Manual due to intrinsic properties of the appliance.
  3. The Beneficiary under the warranty shall deliver the appliance to the Customer Service Point at a given store in order to submit a complaint about the equipment. When asserting your rights under the warranty, you need to present proof of purchase (purchase receipt, invoice) together with a description of appliance defect in as much detail as possible, in particular of the external manifestations of the defect.
  4. The warranty excludes products with physical damage other than that caused by the manufacturer or distributor, including specifically any damage resulting from incorrect usage or force majeure.
  5. The warranty does not cover products from which the tamper-proof seal has been removed and products to which repairs, alterations or structural modifications have been made or attempted.
  6.  The warranty does not cover components subject to natural wear and tear during operation.
  7. To facilitate defect verification, the product should be returned to the Service complete with all its original components .
  8. This warranty for the sold consumer product does not exclude, restrict or suspend the rights of the buyer arising from statutory warranty regulations covering defects in sold goods pursuant to the Civil Code of 23 April 1964 (Journal of Laws Dz .U .2014 .121).
  9. The warranty shall be applicable within the territory of the Republic of Poland .
