CONSTRUCTION
GENERAL OVERVIEW
FROTHER CHAMBER
USE
Do not use excessive force to close the lid. If it does not close check if
something is blocking it.
Ensure that the cable is routed so that there is no possibility of damage,
cutting, pushing or pulling that could cause damage to the equipment or injury
to you or anyone else. Place the device on a flat, horizontal and stable
surface.
The device may only be connected to a power outlet equipped with a protective
pin.
If you notice that the housing, cable, base or power plug is damaged, do not
turn on the device.
Be careful not to let any liquid get inside the device enclosure! This is an
electrical appliance and liquid may cause a short circuit that may damage the
appliance or cause electric shock.
When the frother is removed from the base, all its actions cease and the pre-
set work programme is cancelled.
Lift the frother only using the handle.
Pour a quantity of milk into the frothing chamber that is equal to or higher
than the minimum filling level (85 ml), but not higher than the maximum level
for frothing (120 ml) or heating (240 ml) depending on the selected function.
Pouring too much milk can result in foam overflow or even damage to the
device. If the quantity of milk is less than the minimum filling level, the
milk frother may automatically switch off to protect the machine from
overheating.
The frothing or heating process can be interrupted at any time by pressing the
function button on the body of the device or, in extreme cases, by lifting the
frother from the base or disconnecting the power plug from the mains socket.
BEFORE THE FIRST USE
Take the base out of the foil and unravel the power cord. The base should be
placed in a spot where there is no risk of knocking over and where children
and pets cannot reach it. Put the frother o a base.
If all components show no visible signs of damage, plug the power plug into an
electrical outlet.
REMOVAL OF CONTAMINANTS AND PRESERVATIVES
Before using the appliance for the first time, remove any dirt or
preservatives from the inside of the appliance. It is important for your
health and for keeping neutral taste of the heated or frothed milk.
To clean the inside of the frother chamber before the first proper use, scald
the inside of the entire frothing chamber. To do that fill the chamber with
boiling water and let it sink for a moment. After this time, pour out the
water and rinse the inside of the chamber with clean water.
After it cools down, wash the inside of the chamber with a dishwashing liquid
and rinse thoroughly.
FILLING THE FROTHER WITH MILK
Take off the lid from the frothing chamber. Fill the interior of the chamber
with milk to the desired level, making sure not to exceed the extreme levels.
Position the frother on the base so that the power outlet under the kettle
matches the connector on the base and the whole device is stable.
FROTHER OPERATION
There are 3 modes of frothing and one for heating the milk. Each of the
operating modes is represented by an icon on the housing of the device near
the function button:
- – more whipped foam; for cappuccino
- – less whipped foam; for lattes
- – heating: warm milk, hot chocolate, cocoa
- – cold frothing: for iced coffee
To select a particular operating mode, press the function key and the LED will flash with the symbol While the indication diode is flashing, further pressing of the function key will cause the diode next to the symbol to flash. As long as the indication LED is flashing, it is possible to select the operating mode. After four flashes of the LED, the device starts to work in the mode in which the LED is lit.
Cover the frother chamber with the lid before switching on the machine. This
will prevent any spillage of milk outside the machine.
The best results are achieved when frothing cow’s milk with a high fat
content.
Reduced-fat, lactose-free milk or plant-based drinks may not froth as well.
Each mode is characterised by a specific operating time, after which the device switches off automatically:
- About 1 minute for
- About 30 seconds for
- About 1 minute for
- 2 minutes for
The running time is approximate, as it depends on the temperature and the quantity of milk with which the machine was filled.
Before using the heating mode, remove the frothing spring from the mixer.
In the heating mode, in addition to heating the milk itself, you can also prepare hot chocolate or cocoa. When preparing hot chocolate, add about 15-20 grams of crushed chocolate to the milk (this corresponds to about three chocolate cubes) and start the milk frother in heating mode. Drinking chocolate mixes may also be used, in which case the dosage should follow the instructions on the packaging of the mix. Follow the same steps when preparing cocoa.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
WARNING! The frother jug and the base must not be submerged in water,
washed under running water or dishwashed!
Make sure your hands are dry before cleaning the unit. The device has to cool
down and be disconnected from the power supply.
The device requires no maintenance. Never open its casing. Leaving the casing
open carries the risk of electrocution
Clean the base and the surface of the frother with a clean cloth. The inside
of the frother chamber should be cleaned after each use of the machine using a
soft cloth or sponge and a mild cleaning agent (e.g. unconcentrated dish
liquid). After cleaning the chamber, rinse it with clean water and let the
frother jug dry.
The lid, the mixer and the frothing spring can be cleaned manually under
running water with a mild cleaning agent. After washing, leave it to dry.
