HOFFEN HS-2105 Hair Straightener

INTENDED USE

The device is intended for straightening hair. Follow the instructions contained in this manual for safe installation and use of the product.
The product is intended for private indoor use only and must not be used for professional or commercial purposes.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

The device may be used by children over 8 years of age and by individuals with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or by individuals lacking the necessary experience and knowledge, provided that they are supervised or use the device safely, in compliance with the instruction manual, and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the device. Children must not clean or perform maintenance of the device unless they are supervised by an adult.
WARNING! Do not use the device near water reservoirs, over a bathtub, near a swimming pool, under a shower, over a sink or other container with water.
Warning! Never touch the hot plates! Risk of burns!
Regularly check the power cord for damage. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized service centre or a qualified individual, so as to avoid hazards and injuries.
Read the entire instruction manual before using the product.
Connect the device to a 220-240 V~, 50Hz alternating current mains.
To prevent electrocution, do not immerse the power cord, the plug or the device itself in water or any other liquid.
. Do not leave the device unattended when it is on. Remove the plug from the outlet socket when you are not using the device or before cleaning it.
Use the device only as described in this instruction manual.
Never touch an electric device if it has been immersed in water or water has been spilled on it. Disconnect it from the power supply immediately.
Do not pull or carry the device by its power cord, do not use the power cord as a handle, do not close a door on the cord or pull the power cord over sharp edges.
Keep the power cord away from hot surfaces.
Do not unplug the device by pulling on its power cord. To unplug it, grasp the plug, not the cord.
Do not touch the plug or the device with wet hands.
CAUTION! The device becomes hot during operation. Do not touch the heating plates – risk of burns.
Always disconnect the device from the mains if you do not use the device or before you clean it.
If the device is hot, put it on a heat-resistant surface and never cover it with a towel, an article of clothing etc.
Do not attempt to open the housing or remove any parts of the device. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
Do not attempt to use the device for styling artificial hair.
Retain the instruction manual and the packaging, if possible.
When using the device, do not use any hairspray or other aerosols in its vicinity.
Hairsprays and aerosols can be used only when the device is off and the plug is removed from the outlet socket.
Avoid contact of the hot surface of the heating plates with skin. Risk of burns! Pay special attention to the face, neck and hands.

Open the packaging and carefully take the device out. Make sure the set is complete and that its components are undamaged. Check that the plastic parts are not broken and the power cord is not damaged. If you find that any components are missing or damaged, contact the vendor and do not use the product. Retain the packaging or dispose of it in accordance with local regulations.

Caution! To keep children safe, do not leave any packaging parts (plastic bags, cardboard boxes, expanded polystyrene elements etc.) freely accessible. Danger of suffocation!

OPERATION

Before use

Make sure the hair is washed, dry, and all tangles are combed out.
Unpack the device.

Switching on/off

Roll up the power cord.
Connect the power cord to a power outlet.
In order to turn on the device – press the „on/off/ temperature change” button for 2-3 seconds, when the red LEDs light up, the device is turned on. The heating plates will start heating up and the LED indicator of 130ºC will start flushing red. When the device heats up to the required temperature, the light will stop flushing.
In order to increase the temperature press shortly the on/off/temperature change button and wait until the LED indicating required temperature stops flushing. The heating plates are heat up to the required temperature when the LED indicating this temperature glows red steadily.
Further pressing the on/off/temperature change button changes the temperature to the higher level, and after it reaches maximum level of 210ºC, next pressing will change the temperature to the minimum level 130ºC. In order to achieve lower temperature it is recommended to switch off the device, wait until it cools down and start the procedure from the begining.
In order to switch off the device press the on/off/ temperature change button for 2-3 seconds.
Having finished working with the device unplug the device from the power source.

Hair straightening

Comb the hair.
Connect the device to a power source with parameters as specified in this instruction manual and in the label on the device.
Switch the device on as described in section 7.2 Switching on/off.
CAUTION! The device heats up during operation. Do not touch the heating plates – risk of burns.
Choose, set and wait until the device heats up to the required temperature, which will be indicated by a continuous red light of LED near the temperature marking.
Take a hair section (no more than 3-4 cm wide) close to the roots and put it between the heating plates.
Close the heating plates and move the hair straightener to the ends of the hair. Repeat this step with other hair strands.
To finish using the device, switch it off as described in section 7.2 Switching on/off.
Disconnect the device from the power source, let it cool down and store it in a safe and well ventilated place.

Caution!
If the device is hot, put it on a heat-resistant surface and never cover it with a towel, an article of clothing, etc.
Do not attempt to use the device for styling artificial hair.
Do not use any hairspray before using the device.
Do not use the device on wet hair.
If the device is used for styling colored hair, the heating plates with ceramic coating may absorb the hair color.
Do not operate the device too close to the scalp. Risk of burns!
Never wrap the power cord around the device.
Never touch the hot plates! Risk of burns!

CLEANING AND CARE

Proper and regular cleaning will ensure safe operation and extend the life span of the device.

Warning! Before performing cleaning and maintenance operations, turn the device off, disconnect it from the power source and let it cool down, so as to avoid burns and electrocution.

With a dry cloth, wipe the device housing and the heating plates with ceramic coating.
Remove hair and dust from the device regularly.
. Never use caustic or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the device.

Warning! When cleaning or operating the device, do not immerse its electric parts in water or any other liquid. Never immerse the device itself in water.

REPAIR

The device does not contain any user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to make any repairs on your own. Always have a specialist perform repairs.
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, a technical service centre or a qualified individual.

STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION

Always let the device cool down before handling or storing it.
Always keep the device in a dry, well-ventilated location inaccessible to children.
Protect the device against vibration and shock during transport.
The device may be hung using the hanging loop.

DISPOSAL

Keep the packaging materials out of children’s reach, as the materials can pose a hazard.
The packaging should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Correct disposal of the device:

According to the WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU, the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol is used to label all electric and electronic devices requiring segregation.
Do not dispose of the spent product with domestic waste: hand it over to an electric and electronic device collection and recycling centre.
Hazardous components in electronic and electrical equipment have a negative impact on the environment and human health.
Plastics contained in the device can be recycled in accordance with the specific marking. By recycling materials and spent equipment you will help to protect the environment.
Information on electric and electronic devices collection centres is available from local government agencies or from the vendor.

CE DECLARATION

The device has been designed, manufactured and placed on the market in accordance with the requirements of the New Approach Directives and therefore the product has been CE marked and has been issued with a declaration of conformity made available to market regulators.

WARRANTY

In order to lodge a complaint or file a claim related to the product, the product has to be delivered to the Customer Service Desk at any store of the Biedronka chain.

The Warrantor for this product grants a 36-month warranty valid from the purchase date. Should you find any defect, submit a complaint at the place of purchase.
A damaged/defective product means a product failing to provide the features described in the Instruction Manual due to intrinsic properties of the device.
The Beneficiary under the warranty shall deliver the device to the Customer Service Point at a relevant store in order to submit a complaint about the equipment. When asserting your rights under the warranty, you need to present proof of purchase (purchase receipt, invoice) together with a description of device defect in as much detail as possible, in particular of the external manifestations of the defect.
The warranty excludes products with physical damage other than that caused by the manufacturer or distributor, including specifically any damage resulting from incorrect usage or force majeure.
The warranty does not cover products from which the tamper-proof seal has been removed and products to which repairs, alterations or structural modifications have been attempted.
The warranty does not cover components subject to natural wear and tear during operation.
To facilitate defect verification, the product should be returned to the Service complete with all its original components.
This warranty for the sold consumer product does not exclude, restrict or suspend the rights of the buyer arising from statutory warranty regulations covering defects in sold goods pursuant to the Civil Code of 23 April 1964 (Journal of Laws Dz.U.2014.121).
The warranty shall be applicable within the territory of the Republic of Poland.
