BEFORE USE
MicroSD card
Insert an 8–128GB class 10 MicroSD card (not supplied) into the MicroSD card
slot.
Connecting
- Connect the Mini USB end of the Mini USB car charger into the power port.
- Connect the other end into the car’s power outlet to charge.
- For the best visibility, place the dash camera close to the centre of the front windshield.
APP INSTALLATION
This dash camera uses the Waycam app to take photos and view recorded footage.

Install the Waycam app from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).

On your mobile device, ensure Wi-Fi is turned on. Press and hold the power/lock button to turn the dash camera on.

Enter the Wi-Fi settings on your mobile device then look for the network called ‘HiDvr_WIFI’. Tap to connect (password: 12345678). This Wi-Fi network does not have internet access. If your mobile device prompts a warning regarding no internet access on the Wi-Fi network, tap ‘Connect’. If this is not tapped, you will be unable to access the Waycam app.

Ensuring your mobile device is connected to ‘HiDvr_WIFI’, open the Waycam app.
This will open the home screen.
Tap ‘Connect’. This will open the interface of the app, and the dash camera will be ready for use.
OPERATION
Powering
Press and hold the power/lock button to turn the dash camera on/off. When
connected to the Waycam app, the dash cam will be continually recording
footage.
Locking video
Locking video footage will prevent it from being overwritten or erased from
the MicroSD card. This may be useful if witnessing or in an accident that
requires footage as proof.
Press the Power/Lock button to lock the currently filmed footage.
Resetting
To reset the dash camera, use a pin to press and hold the reset button for six
seconds. The Wi-Fi network will also reset.
App interface
Gallery
Tap on the gallery icon to view recorded footage and photos.
Photo
Tap on the photo icon to take a photo of the current camera view.
Settings
Tap on the settings icon to adjust the settings of the app and camera.
Full screen
Tap the full screen icon to view the camera view in landscape mode.
Saving photos/videos onto your phone using Android
Photos/videos must first be downloaded before they are saved.

Go to the Gallery in the Waycam app and tap on the photo/video you wish to download.

Tap on the three dots on the top right corner of the screen, then tap ‘Download’. The photo/video will then begin downloading.

Once downloaded, go back to the home screen of the app, then tap ‘Downloaded’.

Tap on the three dots on the top right corner of the screen, then tap ‘Save to phone’.
The photo/video has now been saved.
Saving photos/videos onto your phone using iOS
Photos/videos must first be downloaded before they are saved.

Go to the Gallery in the Waycam app and tap ‘Select’. Tap on the photos/videos you wish to download.

Tap ‘Download’ and the photos/videos will begin downloading.

Once downloaded, tap ‘Downloaded’ then tap ‘Select’ on the photos/videos you wish to save to your phone.

Tap ‘Save to Phone Album’ and the photos/videos will be saved.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem | Possible solutions |
---|
After connecting to the dash camera’s Wi-Fi, the mobile device’s screen turns black or flashes when trying to access the Waycam app.|
- If using an Android device, ensure you chose to connect to the dash camera’s Wi-Fi when prompted. The dash camera’s Wi-Fi network has no internet access, but will function as a hotspot to connect your device to the camera.
- Uninstall and reinstall the Waycam app. Ensure all app permissions are allowed.
- Disconnect and remove the dash camera’s Wi-Fi network from your mobile device. Attempt reconnecting to the Wi-Fi network with the password.
The dash camera is not recognising the MicroSD card/video is not recording.|
- Ensure the MicroSD card used is of high quality.
- Ensure the MicroSD card used is between 8–128GB and at least class 10.
The dash camera is flashing.|
- Ensure the Mini USB is well connected to the power port of the dash camera.
- Ensure the voltage and current are sufficient. This dash camera requires 5V and 2A of power.
