Product Information

Description:

This product is a luminaire with adjustable colour temperature (Tunable White). It is designed for free illumination of wall surfaces, with the mounting surface serving as the reflection surface. The light emitted by this luminaire is directed upwards and downwards. The luminaire features a Kunststoffabdeckung with lichtstreuender Struktur and a Reflektor made of eloxiertem Reinstaluminium. It is suitable for use with BEGA DALI system components.

Safety:

The installation and operation of this luminaire must comply with national safety regulations. Only a qualified electrician should carry out the installation and commissioning. The manufacturer does not accept liability for damage caused by improper use or installation. Any modifications made to the luminaire should be done by a qualified person who will be considered the manufacturer.

Overvoltage Protection:

The electronic components of the luminaire are protected against overvoltage in accordance with DIN EN 61547. For additional protection against transients, it is recommended to use separate overvoltage protection components, which can be found on the manufacturer’s website.

Product Usage Instructions

To install the luminaire, follow these steps:

Installation:

  1. Undo the hexagon socket head screws (wrench size 3 mm) and lift the luminaire top.
  2. Loosen the earth connection (plug connection) and LED connection between the luminaire top and luminaire base.
  3. Lead the mains supply cable through the cable entry of the luminaire base. Ensure that the application arrow is pointing downwards.
  4. Fix the luminaire base onto the mounting surface using the included or any other suitable fixing material.
  5. Make the earth conductor connection.
  6. Push silicone sleeves over the lines for mains cable connection.
  7. To control the luminaire digitally, use the terminal DA, DA.
  8. If the terminal is not connected, the luminaire will operate at full light output.
  9. Reconnect the earth connection (plug connection) and LED connection between the luminaire top and luminaire base.

Application

  • The installation and operation of this luminaire are subject to national safety regulations. Installation and commissioning may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
  • The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by improper use or installation. If subsequent modifications are made to the luminaire, the person responsible for these modifications shall be considered the manufacturer.

Installation

  • LED are high-quality electronic components! Please avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly during installation or relamping.
  • Undo the hexagon socket head screws (wrench size 3 mm) and lift luminaire top. Loosen earth connection (plug connection) and LED-connection between luminaire top and luminaire base.
  • Lead the mains supply cable through the cable entry of the luminaire base.
  • Note position of application “arrow down”.
  • Fix luminaire base with enclosed or any other suitable fixing material onto the mounting surface.
  • Make earth conductor connection.
  • Push silicone sleeves over the lines and make electrical connection.
  • For digital control please use the connecting terminal DA, DA.
  • In case this terminal is not used the luminaire will be operated at full light output.
  • Make earth connection (plug connection) and LED-connection between luminaire top and luminaire base again.
  • Note position of application of the luminaire “arrow down”.
  • Install luminaire top part, adjust it and tighten screws evenly.

Setting the colour temperature

The LED colour temperature of the luminaire can be set from 2700 to 6500 K (“Tunable White”).
Please note : To be able to set the LED colour temperature, the controller used must support DALI Device Type 8. If no LED colour temperature setting is made, 3000 K will be used by default.

Replacing the LED module

  • The designation of the LED module is noted on a label in the luminaire.
  • The light colour and light output of BEGA replacement modules correspond to those of the modules originally fitted. The module can be replaced by qualified persons using standard tools.
  • Disconnect the system and open the luminaire.
  • Undo one of the two external locking screws (Torx) in the luminaire housing and remove the lateral housing cover.
  • Remove the synthetic cover from the profile of the luminaire housing.
  • Remove the LED module. Install the replacement LED module. Please follow the installation instructions for the LED module.
  • A defective synthetic cover must be replaced.
  • Close up the luminaire again in reverse order

Cleaning Maintenance

Clean luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers from dirt.
