B E G PD2-M-2C-24V-RR-AP LUXOMAT Presence Detector
Product Information
The device is a remote control-capable occupancy detector for ceiling mounting (interior applications) with a circular detection area. It is designed to automatically control the lighting in a room based on movement and ambient light levels.
Product Usage Instructions
- Before starting the installation, ensure that the mains supply is disconnected.
- Mount the device on the ceiling according to the provided mounting instructions (refer to Fig. 1).
- Connect the device to the mains supply following electrotechnical regulations and under the direction and supervision of qualified skilled electrical personnel (refer to the specific language instructions for further details).
- To exclude sources of interference, refer to the specific language instructions (DE: “Ausschluss von Störeinflüssen”, EN: “Exclude sources of interference”, FR: “Exclusion des sources de perturbation”, NL: “Detectiegebied en storingsbronnen uitsluiten”).
- If necessary, adjust the detection range using the enclosed blinds (refer to Fig. 5).
- Perform a self-test cycle as described in the specific language instructions (DE: “Selbsttestzyklus”, EN: “Self-test cycle”, FR: “Cycle d’auto-test”, NL: “Zelftestcyclus”).
! Work on the mains supply may only be carried out by qualified professionals or by instructed persons under the direction and supervision of qualified skilled electrical personnel in accord- ance with electrotechnical regulations.
! Disconnect supply before installing!
! This device is not to be used to isolate other equipment from the mains supply.
Operation
The device is a remote control-capable occupancy detector for ceiling moun- ting (interior applications) having a circular detection area.
Occupancy detectors automatically control the light, based on people being present (motion) and on the ambient light level (full automatic mode). The integrated light sensor constantly measures the ambient light and com- pares it with the switch-on threshold on the detector. If the ambient light is sufficient, lighting will not be switched. If the ambient light level is below the switch-on threshold, a movement activates the lighting in the room.
Mounting
Exclude sources of interference
In case the detection area of the detector is too large or areas are being covered that should not be monitored, the range can be reduced or limited by using the enclosed blinds.
Self-test cycle
The product enters an initial 60- second self-test cycle when the supply is
first connected (LEDs flash).
LED function indicators after each mains recovery
Factory setting active
– White, red and green flash in quick succession for 10sec., then
initialisation indicators,- see below
Standard mode
• Detector programmed
– red flashes quickly (2x/sec.)
• Detector not programmed
– red flashes (1x/sec.)
Corridor function active
– red and white LEDs flash
LED function indicators
Motion detection
– red flashes
Light value higher than switch- on threshold:
– green LED flashes
Impulse mode active
– red and green flash once all 4 s
Corridor function active:
– white LED ON 1 s and OFF 4 s
Semi-automatic mode active:
– white LED shines permanent
Light measurement active:
– Green flashes once every 10 s
Hardware Reset/ factory settings
Reset: The setting of the potentiometers to “test” and “sun” from any
other position causes a reset of the device. That means all other settings are
reset to factory settings (fast flashing of all LEDs for 5 seconds).

Semi-automatic mode
The semi-automatic mode basically behaves like the full automatic mode. However, the difference is that switching on has to be carried out manually! -
TEST: Test mode, every movement switches the light ON for a period of 2 seconds, afterwards OFF for a period of at least 2 seconds.
Pulse

Alarm pulse
In order to set off an alarm impulse, at least 3 movements within 9 sec. have to be detected. -
