Product Information

The MA170 (de_en) is a product that comes with assembly instructions. It is designed to handle a voltage of 600V and falls under CAT II X-GL-438 category. Product Usage Instructions

  1. Safety Instructions: Before starting the assembly process, make sure to read and follow the safety instructions provided in the manual. The products should only be assembled and installed by electrically skilled or instructed persons who adhere to all applicable safety regulations.

  2. Tools Required: The following tools are
    required for the assembly process:

    • Stripping pliers PV-AZM (Order No 326027-156)
    • Soldering iron (60 W)
    • Solder
  3. Lead Preparation:

  4. Cut the cable to the desired nominal length.

  5. Slide the rear insulator onto the cable.

  6. Strip the cable to a length of 8 mm using a cable stripper.

  7. Soldering the Cable:

  8. Insert the lead into the solder joint.

  9. Solder the lead in place.

  10. Ensure that all individual strands of the cable pass through the solder joint.

  11. Screwing the Cable:

  12. Crimp a wire end ferrule onto the cable.

  13. Feed the cable into the plug.

  14. Screw the cable tightly using the recommended tightening torque of 0.8 N m.

  15. Assembly:

  16. Feed the plug into the rear insulator as far as it will fit.

Note:
Please use flexible multi-stranded wires only which offer a nominal cross section and outer cable diameter mentioned above for the different voltage ratings. The maximum current rating is depending on the nominal cross section.

Caution, risk of electric shock

  • The operations described here must not be performed on live or current-carrying parts.
  • Electric shock protection must be provided by the end product (i.e. the correctly configured connector) and ensured by the user themselves.
  • To avoid the risk of electric shock, all components must be discon-nected from power during installation and assembly/disassembly..
  • Plug connections must not be disconnected while under load.

Caution

  • Each time the connector is used, it should previously be inspected for external defects (particularly the insulation). In case of any visible damage, the component must no longer be used.
  • Unmated connectors must be protected from moisture and dirt. The male and female parts must not be plugged together when soiled.

  • * Soldering iron 60 W
    • Solder
    • Screwdriver size 0.4 mm × 2.0 mm.

Lead preparation

  • Cut the cable to the desired nominal length and slide the rear insulator onto the cable.
  • Strip the cable to length 8 mm with cable stripper.

Soldering the cable

  • Insert the lead into the solder joint and solder.

Note:
For soldering purposes a block with a drilled hole Ø 4,2 mm should be used to hold the plug in position.

Hinweis:
All individual strands must be passed through the solder joint.

Screwing the cable

  • Crimp a wire end ferrule (see drawing) onto cable and feed the cable into plug and screw tightly. Tightening torque: 0.8 N m.

Assembly

  • Feed plug into the rear insulator as far as it will fit.
  • In turn, mount spring, safety shroud and front insulator onto the plug. The snap-in locator and opening of two insulators and must be in line.
  • Visually check the snap-in parts on both sides for correct assembly!
