FAQ

What are the environmental conditions for the fixing

element?

The environmental conditions apply only to the fixing element.
Follow board manufacturers’ recommendations regarding the
environmental exposure of other wall components.

What are the sheathing backing properties for use with

X-IE-GS?

The sheathing backing properties include Gypsum and Plywood
(OSB) with specific thickness requirements. It is important not to
stack multiple sheathing layers and to contact Hilti for
suitability of other sheathing materials.

What are the base material properties for cold formed steel

studs?

The base material properties include Material Strength, Base
Metal Thickness, Web Width, Minimum Corner Distance, and Minimum
Edge Distance. Fastening should be done on cold-formed steel or
track sections, not at the intersection between studs and tracks at
corners.
