IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE USE AND RETAIN IT FOR LATER REFERENCE!
WARNINGS
- Before starting to use the player, read these instructions carefully, then keep them in an accessible place for future reference.
- Seek professional assistance if necessary to prevent damaging the unit or motor vehicle!
- The operation of the device may be affected by software and hardware that are independent from the manufacturer.
- Occasionally, some characters may not displayed properly or at all. This can mainly affect special or accented characters and is not the fault of the device.
- The BT range for this product is about 5-10 meters in free space. Under other conditions this information may change
- Depending on the compressed files, the MP3 compression program used, and the quality of the USB/SD memory, anomalies may occur during playback, which are not due to the unit malfunctioning.
- The playback of copy righted DRM files is not guaranteed!
- It is also possible to connect MP3/MP4/MP5 players using a USB cable but avoid connecting external hard drives this way!
- Do not store any additional files on the USB/microSD device other than playable files, because they can slow down or interfere playback.
- Do not connect mobile phone, navigation … with charging purpose to the USB socket!
- Do not store data storage in the vehicle if it is exposed to freezing or extremely high temperatures!
- While underway, do not do anything that distracts your attention from driving. Handling the player while driving can result in accidents. Spend the minimum time watching the display!
- Do not listen to the player too loud. Set a volume that allows you to hear external sounds while driving. Extreme volumes can also cause permanent damage to your ears!
- Do not disassemble or remake the player, as that can cause fire, accidents, or electric shock. Incorrect use or installation renders the warranty void.
- Only for use in cars with a 12 V battery and a negative ground. Using the player for any other purpose can result in electric shock, damage, or fire. The player was designed exclusively for use in vehicles!
- Always use melting fuses with the proper values.
- When replacing a fuse, make sure that the new fuse has the same nominal value as the one you are replacing. Using a different fuse can cause fire or damage. (15 Ampere)
- Do not block the player’s cooling vents, as that can cause its circuits to overheat, resulting in fire. Install the player properly to ensure adequate ventilation. The air vents around the edge must be left free.
- Make sure to connect the player correctly. Incorrect connections can result fire or other defaults.
- Prior to wiring/installation, be sure to remove the car battery’s negative terminal connection! This will prevent any electric shock, short circuit or malfunction.• While installing the player never cut through cables or damage their insulation. Doing so can result in short circuit and fire!
- Before drilling holes or inserting screws into your vehicle’s body make sure you do not damage tubes or electric wires on the other side of the cover…
- Do not connect to any electric systems of your vehicle that operate steering, brakes, or any other safety function. Doing so can result in loss of control over the vehicle, and can cause fire.
- Do not install the player or its accessories in a location where they can prevent you from controlling the vehicle safely, e.g., nearby the steering-wheel and the gear shift.
- Make sure that wires do not coil around neighboring objects. Arrange cables and wires in a way that does not hinder you in driving. Wires that interfere with your movement or hang over the gear shift, the brake etc. can be extremely dangerous.
- In case of any malfunction, turn of the player immediately, and consult your distributor. Many malfunctions are very easy to detect (e.g., no sound, bad smell, smoke, an external object inside the product etc.).
- Make sure that no external objects get into the USB socket or the memory card slot, as these can cause fatal damage.
- Protect it from dust, damp, liquids, heat, moisture, frost and impact, as well as direct heat or sunlight!

- Later on, it will automatically switch to the most recently used function after being switched on unless the external storage device has been removed in the meantime.
- Since starting the engine of a vehicle may cause voltage stoppages, only switch on the unit when the engine is running. Turn it off before turning off the engine. To switch off, press and hold the MOD button for 2 seconds. (The short press switches between the signal sources.)
Volume and tone setting
Use the rotary knob (3.) to set the desired volume. Keep pressing the
rotary knob, till the desired volume, tone and other submenu is selected.
After that you can set it by rotating the knob, then move on by pressing it.
VOL | VOLUME | volume |
---|---|---|
BAS | BASS | bass |
TRE | TREBLE | high tone |
BAL | BALANCE | left/right side channel volume |
FAD | FADER | front/rear channel volume |
LOU | LOUDNESS | physiological tone on/off |
EQ | EQUALIZER | sound fields: POP – ROCK – CLASS – OFF |
DX | DX/LOCAL | long distance or local radio reception |
STEREO | STEREO/MONO | stereo or mono radio reception |
- When listening to music on higher volume, do not emphasize significantly high and low tones, as this may cause distortion!
- EQ function will cancel the previously set bass and treble equalizer tones and BASS/TRE menu points won’t appear in the menu, until you choose EQ OFF setting.
- The DX and STEREO menus affecting radio operation are only available when the radio signal is active.
- You can temporarily turn off the speakers – without touching the volume control – by pressing the MUTE (2.) button.
Physiological tone adjustment
The human ear perceives less of low and high frequency sounds at smaller
volume. By turning LOUDNESS function on, automatic tone adjustment will
correct this effect at low volume. It is recommended to switch off this
function, since it may cause distorted sound.
- In order to get better sound quality, before using this function it is recommended to choose EQ OFF setting, and set the high/low equalizers to „0” position.
- The larger the volume, the less noticeable effect of automatic tone correction occurs.
Selecting the signal source
You can select the signal source you want to listen to besides the remote
control with a short press of the front panel’s MOD (1.) button. Only active,
currently connected devices and features are available.
- RADIO: FM radio, with 18 program area, RDS function
- USB: MP3/WMA playback from USB
- SD: MP3/WMA playback from SD memory card
- AUX: Stereo audio input on the front panel, for 3.5 mm plug
- BT (A2DP): Wireless music playback from mobile phone and giving call
- Do not hold the MOD button pressed for a longer period of time because the unit switches off.
- The source cannot be activated if it is not available. For example, if there is no storage device connected to the corresponding files (songs, photos, movies). Or if no mobile phone is paired, the BT features will not work.
- When the power is turned on, the last played track will resume if during the device has not been removed.
- If you have an external device connected simultaneously with the USB and SD sockets, use the MOD button to select the desired source. Basically, the use of the SD card is recommended because of its safer and more secure location.
- After the connection, the last inserted external unit’s program is played.
USE OF THE RADIO
After the unit is switched on the radio will turn on if it was being previously listened to – or the last played USB/SD/BT signal source has been removed. Select radio function with the remote control’s MODE button or with the front panel’s MOD button.
Manual tuning and storing of the radio stations
Select with the front panel’s BND (10.) button one of the F1-F2-F3 bands.
(recommended: F1) Tap shortly one of the (4.) or (11.) step buttons for tuning
up or down on the band. The SEARCH message is displayed and the tuning stops
at the next, stronger station. If you have not searching for this, press one
of the stepper buttons again. Tune the weaker stations manually, with fine
tuning. To do so, hold pressed one of the stepper buttons (4.) or (11.) for 2
seconds, until the MANUAL message is displayed on the display. Then briefly
press the stepper buttons until the exact frequency of the station you are
searching for is displayed. The frequency goes up or down by 0.05 MHz at all
presses. 2 seconds after waiting, it turns back to AUTO mode. The station can
be stored in the desired program area by pressing one of the number buttons
1…6 for 3 seconds. After recording, the selected storage number appears at the
far right of the display. Later the desired radio station can be choosen by
shortly pressing the remote control’s or the front panel’s 1…6 buttons.
- Total of 18 FM and 12 AM radio stations can be stored at FM1-FM2-FM3 bands.
- In every case, 6-6 stations are storable. When storing e.g. you have choosen FM2 band 4. place for one station, then later you have to choose FM2 (BAND) and a button
Automatic tuning and storing
Hold pressed the BND (10.) button for 2 seconds to automatically locate and
store radio stations that can be received in the place of use. On the display
SEARCH message is readable, while the device scans all the available
frequencies. The better the reception conditions are, the more programs you
will find. At the far right of the display the already stored stations are
trackable.
- After the tuning has finished, a few seconds broadcasting will be audible from each stored radio station. The device steps alongside even the possibly empty storages and stops at the first fixed radio station. Introduction function can be switch off by tapping any of the storage buttons.
- Take into consideration that unit will skip stations with weaker reception, and the stations may be stored in a different sequence what you have defined.
- Select manual tuning and storing in order to perform custom settings.
- If a memory location is already occupied, its contents will be deleted and the new station frequency will be stored.
- In case of receivers of suitable quality, STEREO (double circle) symbol lights up at the storage above the serial number. If reception is poor due to poor reception conditions, select the MONO setting in the menu available with the rotary knob. In case of MONO setting, the STEREO symbol goes off. If reception is poor due to low reception conditions, select MONO in the available menu. When it is set to MONO, the STEREO symbol goes out.
- In case of low reception conditions, turn off the LOC (local, strong reception) function and select DX mode in DX/LOC (distance/local reception) menu, with the rotary knob. Reception may be weaker nearby high buildings or electrical equipment.
- If you use the device at a distance further from the location of the tuning – e.g. when traveling – you may have to search for the same radio station again at another frequency. In different geographic areas the same programs are transmitted at different frequencies! This inconvenience can be avoided if the listened station has RDS function and you turn on the RDS AF (alternative frequency) feature on your device. For details, refer to the RDS functions below.
Selection of stored radio stations
On the remote control or the front panel select the desired band (e.g. F1)
with BAND button, then with 1-6 storage number buttons, select the desired
show. Totally 18 FM radio station can be memorized.
FM RDS functions
The Radio Data System is used to transmit digital information during FM radio broadcasts. These textual information will be displayed on radio displays if the broadcasting station and the receiver unit have this RDS function and it has been activated. Such information includes for example the name of the radio station, the program type, etc., which varies depending on the station and the device. Apart from the display of textual information, extra services are also generally available. They include the followings in case of this radio:
- PS – program service: displays the radio station’s brief name. Operates continuously as basic RDS function.
- AF – alternate frequency: if the current station can be received on another frequency in better quality, the unit automatically switches over to that frequency; this is useful when travelling because the unit searches for a station broadcasting the same program with a stronger signal
- TP – Radio stations displaying TP marking, regularly broadcast traffic information. Operates continuously as basic RDS function.
- TA – the active TA function allows traffic and road information announcements to be heard. When an announcement is received the text TRAFFIC will appear on the display. If music or a movie is being played back from a USB/microSD or Bluetooth source, it will pause during the announcement then playback will continue.
- PTY – program type: radio station identification according to predefined genre. It is possible to search for broadcast with specific content, for example: news, classical music, pop music.
Depending on the device’s place and version, optionally the following PTY program types can be selected:
NEWS | News | ROCK MUSIC | Rock music | PHONE IN | Phone-in show |

- Occasionally, you may find that certain characters appear incorrectly or not at all. This is mainly affected on the special or accented characters and not
- EON –device continuously monitors other networks for traffic information. (currently unavailable for this device)
Switching on and off FM RDS functions
The PS and TP services will always work when the radio station provides this.
Other RDS functions can be switched on or off individually in the following
ways:
- Keep the rotary knob pressed, until the AF mark is not visible on the display. After this by rotating the knob switch on or off (AF ON or AF OFF) this function.
- By pressing the rotary knob again, step forward to the TA setting and by rotating the knob switch it on or off (TA ON, TA OFF).
- The third press activates PTY (program type search) function. PTY OFF: off; MUSIC: search for music stations, SPEECH: search for prose stations.
PLAYBACK – FROM USB/SD STORAGE
If you wish to listen to music from a USB/SD source instead of listening to
the radio, simply connect the external storage. The unit will detect this and
start playback automatically. You can use the AMS button on the remote control
to select a track during USB/SD playback. After pressing it, three stars will
appear, in their place enter the number of the selected song.
„iD3 Tag” MP3 textual accompanying information
Simultaneously with playing MP3 files, the name of the directory, file format,
title, track number, program time, artist name, song and album title are
visible on the screen Track-related information can only be displayed if it is
included in the played file, it is pre-recorded when the MP3 file is created.
By repeatedly pressing the BAND button, you can change the data of the played
song; TITLE, SONG, ARTIST, ALBUM, FOLDER. After a short time, they will appear
again automatically and in continuous rotation.
- Subtitles appear only if the MP3 file contains them. These text information can be associated with the current track when the MP3 file is created. If there is no such accompanying information in the file or not all displayable data is recorded, it will not be displayed on the display either.
- Occasionally, you may find that certain characters appear incorrectly or not at all. This is mainly affected on the special or accented characters and not the fault of the device. The ID3 Tag function is influenced by the program that created the MP3 file and its settings. If different tracks are created with different compression programs and different settings, the text information that can be displayed differs from one song to another. Abnormal operation can be caused by the individual features of the mass storage device, which does not indicate a malfunction of the device.
The display also shows playback mode (RPT): all songs or current songs or repeats the entire directory. These functions are selectable with the RPT (15.) button: RPT ALL, RPT ONE, RPT DIR
The available functions:
- : playback or pause
- : press the buttons briefly to reach the previous or next track or keep holding them for quick search within the song
- INT: song presentation, short playback from the beginning of every song
- RDM: random order playback switch on and off (RDM ON, RDM OFF) -10/DIR- / +10/DIR+: by keeping it pressed, stepping the data storage’s foldersystem, by pressing it shorty, stepping tens of songs
- Recommended file system of memory is: FAT32. Do not use memory unit with NTFS format!
- If the unit does not emit sound or the USB/SD memory is not recognized, remove and reinsert the memory. If this is ineffective, try to choose the source with the MOD button. If necessary, turn off and back on or press the RST button on the front panel.
- If the unit cannot recognize the files or one part of them, copied on the external storage, then proceed as described in the previous paragraph, or you can insert the USB/SD unit to the device which is already switched on; at that time the system will read in and update the entire content of it.
- Remove the storage only, when you switched to a source different from USB/SD/ memory (e.g. radio) or the device has switched off! Otherwise the data can get injured.
- It is forbidden to remove the connected external storage during playback!
- By inserting the memory unit, playback will start from the first track. If you have listened to it previously, and it hasn’t been removed, then the playback will continue from the last played track, even if the device has been switched off in the meantime.
- USB and SD unit can be inserted only in one way. If it would get stuck, turn it over and try again, do not force!
- Pay attention to the storage, extending from the device not to disturb you in safe driving, and do not shove or break it! It is recommended to use SD card preferably, since it can be used more safely.
- If you leave the external storage in the vehicle in extreme hot or cold, it can get injured.
- Unique features of the external storage can cause abnormal operation, this is not a malfunction of the unit! Unsupported storage device cannot be read due to an individual parameter or incompatible files on it. Do not have any files in the storage that this machine cannot read!
- Occasionally, you may find that certain characters appear incorrectly or not at all. This is mainly affected on the special or accented characters and not the fault of the device.
- THE USB SOCKET IS NOT USEABLE FOR CHARGING, IT IS FORBIDDEN TO CONNECT MOBILE DEVICE TO IT! IN THIS CASE THE RADIO’S DISPLAY GOES OFF, THE DEVICE MIGHT SWITCH OFF DUE TO OVERLOAD OR MIGHT GET DEFECTIVE!
USING WIRELESS BT FUNCTIONS
The device can be paired with other equipment which is communicating by BT protocol, within maximum 5-10 meters operation range. After that, music which is played with mobile phone, tablet, notebook and other similar device is audible amplified. In case of incoming call, it is possible to answer call, make the call hands-free and end call, without touching the phone. Car radio has built-in microphone and wire-connectable external microphone to be used for phone calls. Place the wire of the microphone hidden behind the dashboard and the plastic cover behind the dashboard and place the microphone nearby your mouth close to the awning or column “A”. With this, your talking partner can hear you in even better sound quality. Make sure the windows are closed during call, as the trip noise significantly impedes the clarity of the speech.
The following extra functions are available: the switched off – but previously already paired– radio switches on and changes into BT mode, if there is an incoming call. The caller’s number is shown on the display. By handling the car radio, it is possible to reject a call (MOD (1.)), answer a call (BAND (10.)), end a call (MOD (1.)), start a call to the last called number. Press the BAND (10.) button to this last. During a call, you can start a private conversation by pressing the BAND (10.) button again. In this case, the radio speaker will be muted and you will only be able to hear the conversation on the phone. Search for the nearby BT devices to be paired, including this car radio in the way it is written in its instruction manual. Connect the two devices together. If it requires password, enter the following: 0000 or 8888. After that, you can hear the phone conversation or the music played on the phone from the car speakers. In case of successful connection, a small symbol on the top right of the screen indicates the presence of a wireless connection.
-
Start a call to the last number: in the case of a dual SIM card phone, depending on the setting, you may be required to confirm the call on the phone. This can be avoided by adjusting the phone properly (depending on the type).
-
Wireless music playback: the music player application started running on your phone can be remotely controlled from the radio’s play and stepper buttons
Start playing with the music player of mobile phone or other similar device and music is audible through the car speakers. In case of incoming calls, you can answer cancel with the radio’s BAND (10.) button or with MOD (1.) button you can reject the call; while music playback is paused. -
One radio can be paired with one BT device at the same time. Actual operation range depends on the other device and environmental conditions (e.g. 5 m)
-
Volume and sound quality of BT connection is affected by the audio settings of connected mobile phone.
-
Occasionally, you may find that certain characters appear incorrectly or not at all. This is mainly affected on the special or accented characters and not the fault of the device.
AUX IN – STEREO SOUND INPUT
With the help of a stereo plug with 3,5 mm diameter, you can connect such
external device to the AUX socket, located on the front panel, which has
earphone/audio output. You can listen to this portable device through the
speakers of the car in high sound quality, if you select with MOD button the
AUX operational mode. Connectable devices with wire: e.g.: mobile phone,
multimedia player, CD/DVD player, navigation…
- It is important to have proper settings of playback device to achieve high sound quality.
- Purchasing of external adapter may needed to connect such devices which have audio output different from 3,5 mm diameter.
- For further information, check the instruction manual of device to be connected.
Connecting external amplifier and active subwoofer
The 4xRCA stereo audio output is located on the back of the unit. The white
and red RCA sockets are the outputs of the left and right audio channels.
Ensure that you connect an external amplifier or an active subwoofer with a
low level input (LINE IN). This way you can improve the volume and sound
quality.
Displaying and setting the clock
When the device is switched on, pressing CLK (5.) will display the current
time for a few seconds. To adjust the clock, press and hold this button until
the display starts flashing. Then set the clock with the rotary knob and the
minutes after the knob is pressed. Wait for 8 seconds to automatically adjust
the setting or press CLK button.
Resetting the unit
After each event when the power supply is interrupted or the device (including
its display) is functioning abnormally, it is necessary to delete the
microprocessor data. To do this, push the RST button on the front panel for 3
seconds with a thin, pointed object (e.g. clip). The unit switches off and
