Function

A »signolux« alerting system consists of at least one transmitter (e.g. doorbell pushbutton) and a receiver. Up to 8 transmitters can be assigned to each event icon.
If e.g. the doorbell pushbutton is pressed, a radio signal is transmitted to the receiver.
This, in turn, displays the received signal audibly and visually with sounds and flashing lights.

Setting the alerting mode

Using the mode selector switch (9) you can select the alerting mode.
Please keep in mind that the event icons are always indicated.

  • switch to position 0: alerting tones, but no flash
  • switch to position 1: alerting tones and flash
  • switch to position 2: no alerting tones, flash only
Setting the volume

Use the rotating volume control to set the volume of the alerting tone.

Warning:
This device can generate sounds of up to 90 dB! In order to protect your hearing, please set a low volume to begin with and only then adjust it to the desired volume.

Event icons

Each event icon can be linked to a transmitter (e.g. doorbell pushbutton) and can be re-assigned at will. The icons symbolize:

| Doorbell 1| Colour: Green
---|---|---
| Doorbell 2| Colour: Green
| Telephone| Colour: Orange
| Person call| Colour: Yellow
| Baby| Colour: White
| Fire alarm| Colour: Red
| Flood alarm| Colour: Blue
| Alarm| Colour: Red

Preset transmitter indication

Signolux devices can be used together immediately and without prior pairing when delivered.

Which event icon is displayed depends on the type of transmitter. This information can be found in the user manual of the according transmitter.

Optional manual pairing

Note 1:
If a transmitter is to be displayed with an event icon of your own choice, this can be done as described in the chapter „Linking transmitter alerts with event icons“.
However, this causes the receiver to lose the preset transmitter indication and all transmitters previously shown on the receiver must be individually paired.

Note 2:
Should there be repeated false alerts when using the preset transmitter indication, this may hint at a neighbouring Signolux installation causing interference. In this case, the problem can be solved by individually pairing all transmitter and receiver units within the setup (see „Linking transmitter alerts with event icons“).

Reset to factory defaults

Delete the pairing of each event icon (see „Deleting transmitters“).
When all previously assigned transmitters have been removed from the memory of the receiver, the preset transmitter indication is restored and the transmitters are automatically displayed.

Linking transmitter alerts with event icons

Up to 8 transmitters can be assigned to each event icon. This is achieved by pairing a transmitter with an icon of your choice.
Please keep in mind that a transmitter can only be paired if it is not already stored in the memory of the receiver. If required, you might first have to delete the transmitter from the memory (see “Deleting transmitters”).
a) Keep the function button »●« (3) pressed for some time. The event icons start to light up in sequence. Let go of the button as soon as the desired icon is lit.
b) Trigger your transmitter (e.g. operate the doorbell pushbutton or test button).
c) Wait for about 20 seconds, then test the function by triggering the transmitter again.

Setting the melody

You can freely set every provided tone to an event icon of your choice. The mode selector switch must be either set to 0 or 1.
a) First trigger an alert (e.g. operate doorbell pushbutton).
b) The icon assigned to the transmitter lights up and the previously chosen tone should be heard.
c) Press and hold the melody setting button »♫« (5) for two seconds.
Let go of the button and press it repeatedly until you have found the desired melody (you can choose from 16 different tones).
d) Once the icon ceases to flash, the selected tone has been set.

Deleting transmitters

Do the following if you wish to delete a transmitter from the device memory:

a) Keep the function button »●« (3) pressed for some time. The event icons start to light up in sequence. Let go of the button as soon as the icon in question is lit.
b) Now press the function button »●« and the melody button »♫« (3)+(5) at the same time. All icons briefly light up and the transmitter is deleted from that icon.

Please note:
This procedure will delete all transmitters assigned to this event icon.

Status-LED

The receiver informs about the state of its own batteries as well as the batteries of the linked transmitters:

  • A sufficient battery charge level of the receiver is indicated by the status LED flashing every 5 to 6 seconds in red.
  • A low battery level of the receiver is indicated by the status LED flashing every two seconds in red. Please recharge the receiver as soon as possible (attach it to the power supply unit).
  • If the battery level of a transmitter is low, the status LED lights up red every 2 seconds after the transmitter has transmitted its signal. Please replace the batteries of the according transmitter at the next possible opportunity.

Behaviour of the status LED when the power supply unit is connected:

Charging the battery: The status indicator lights up red. The red light is interrupted for half a second every 6 seconds. Battery is charged and the unit is ready for operation: The status indicator lights up green. Every 6 seconds, the status indicator briefly lights up in red.

Use on rechargeable battery
Mains operation is recommended. The rechargeable batteries are primarily intended to power the unit in the event of a power failure.
The maximum operating time per charge is 3 weeks, depending on the frequency of incoming events.
The receiver should therefore only be disconnected from the power supply for a few days.

Recalling the last alert, cancelling the current alert

Press the »●« button to display the last registered alert again.
You can also cancel an active indicated alert by pressing this button.

AUX-socket and power connector

The »AUX«-socket (8) and the connector for the power supply (10) can be found on the rear of the receiver.
All Humantechnik modules can be connected to the AUX-output (vibrating pad, flash module, vibrating contraption etc, available as accessories). An indicated event will be forwarded to the connected modules which will then react accordingly.

The power connector is used to power the receiver via the power supply unit. This is used to recharge the batteries, but it can remain connected for continuous operation of the receiver.
