Component | Function |
---|---|
Battery compartment | Contains 3x AA batteries |
Battery indicator | A red light will blink, indicating that batteries need to |
be replaced
Reset button| Confirms a call or text message has been received
Illuminated area| Blinks as soon as the mobile phone has received a call or a
text message
»AUX« Connection socket| To connect the »iBell-2« with the lisa signalling
system or additional modules such as a vibrating pillow.
How it works
When the mobile phone on the »iBell-2« cradle receives a text message or phone call, white LED lights begin flashing brightly in the front and back panels. For the first two minutes, after a call or text message comes in, the light flashes rapidly. After two minutes, the pace of the flashing decreases, conserving battery power, until it completely disappears after 3 hours.
Inserting the batteries
The device needs three 1.5 V batteries (AA type) to work.
To insert the batteries, proceed as follows:
- Remove the securing screw of the lid of the battery compartment on the bottom of the »iBell-2«. Unhinge the battery compartment lid.
- Now insert three AA type batteries into the battery compartment. Ensure the right polarity is selected for the batteries.
- Now close the battery compartment lid and replace the securing screw. As soon as the batteries have been inserted, the white chaser light on the »iBell-2« will briefly blink.
Battery Level Indication (Self Test):
Use the self-test function to verify that your »iBell-2« is powered on, and the batteries are working properly: While the »iBell-2« is idle, simply press the reset button. »iBell-2« will then blink twice to indicate that the unit is in operation.
Low Battery Indicator:
An incessantly flashing red light indicates that battery power is low. If the
battery power becomes too weak for the device to operate, it switches off
automatically. If the battery level indicator flashes repeatedly, please
change the batteries, as the »iBell-2« may cease to function until they are
replaced.
Positioning the »iBell-2«
Place the »iBell-2« on a flat, non-vibrating surface.
Suitable surfaces: tables, shelves etc.
Unsuitable surfaces: tumble dryers, washing machines etc.
Positioning the mobile phone
- Switch your mobile phone to vibration alarm. If your mobile phone has variable vibration settings, select the alarm with the longest and strongest vibration.
- Carefully place your mobile phone onto the »iBell-2« cradle. Please note: if the mobile phone is not inserted carefully, the movement may be interpreted as a vibration, causing »iBell-2« to trigger its light. Should this happen, press the Reset button to acknowledge the signal.
Call/text message received confirmation
After receiving a call or a text message, you must confirm it has been received so that the »iBell-2« can report new calls or text messages. Press the reset button on the front of the »iBell-2« to acknowledge the signal. The device has now been reset and can report new calls and text messages again.
Connecting the »iBell-2« with Humantechnik alerting systems
The »iBell-2« can easily be connected to the Humantechnik alerting systems »lisa RF« and »signolux«. Alerting systems consist of at least one transmitter and one receiver.
lisa RF:
Connect the »iBell-2« to the »lisa RF telephone transmitter acoustic« (not
included) via the included connection cable.
Signolux:
Connect the »iBell-2« via the included connection cable to socket #1 of the
»signolux Acoustic Universal Transmitter« (not included).
The transmitters register the »iBell-2« signal and convert it into a radio signal. These wireless radio signals are transmitted to the according receivers, which then indicate the event.
Please note : Devices of the alerting system »lisa RF« cannot be combined with devices of the alerting system »signolux«.
Sensitivity adjustment of »lisa RF telephone transmitter acoustic« and »signolux Acoustic Universal Transmitter
Set the sensitivity control of the according transmitter to the highest setting (turn clockwise until limit). The transmitter will now react upon the vibration alarm of the mobile phone
Connecting additional modules to the »iBell-2«
Signal emitter modules (vibrating pillow, flash module MF-1, acoustic module MA-1 or switch module MS-1) can be connected with the »iBell-2« via its connection socket on the rear. Plug one end of the supplied lead into the AUX connector socket of the »iBell 2« and the other end of the lead in the module’s connection jack.
Battery life
Battery endurance my vary strongly, according to the quality of the batteries purchased. Under normal conditions, a set of new batteries should last approx. 6 months and more.
