HUMANTECHNIK A24150 RF Blink Lamp
overview
Congratulations on purchasing your RF blink lamp. We hope it will give you
many years of reassuring operati-on. You have purchased a modern and reliable
system.
Please read through these operating instructions carefully. They tell you how
to set up the system correctly and explain all the system’s features to you.
Standard components
Please check if all the following components are included:
- RF blink lamp
- rechargeable battery
- 12 V plug-in PSU
- Stand
- Operating Instructions
- Warranty card
If any parts are missing please immediately contact your dealer or the manufacturer directly.
Functional principle
The RF blink lamp receives signals from a variety of radio transmitters and
converts them into light signals. The RF blink lamp has a very high-power
light-emitting diode (LED), which brings a signal to the user’s attention, and
additional LEDs which indicate the nature of the incoming signals.
Setting up the system
Inserting the rechargeable
battery
There is a battery compartment on the back of the RF blink lamp. Open it by
sliding the cover of the battery compartment to the right of the recei-ver
using your thumb. Connect the battery plug with the outlet, insert the
rechargeable battery into the com-partment and close the device. When the
battery is connected, the recei-ving signals may be triggered once. Life of
rechargeable battery, per char-ge: approx. 1 – 2 days*
Operation with a 9 V battery
The RF blink lamp can also be operated using a regular 9 V block battery,
which is widely available. Open the battery compartment as described in 11aa.
Connect the battery to the connector plug and insert the battery into the
battery compartment. Close the devi-ce. Life of 9 V block battery: approx. 1 –
2 weeks at 5 events per day The separate rechargeable battery connection
makes sure that a 9 V block battery will not be recharged by mistake. The
rechargeable battery is recharged when the RF blink lamp is connected to the
mains power supply.
warning: Prior to using the rechar-geable battery for the first time, it
must be recharged for 12 hours.
warning : For rechargeable battery operation, use and re-charge only the
special rechargeable battery A-2995-0.
Rechargeable batteries cannot be recharged using the 9 V block bat-tery
connection!
Setting the correct radio channel
A special digital transmission process ensures that the radio signals are
picked up without errors. This process also makes it possible to set 10
different radio channels. When supplied from the factory, all RF blink lamps
are set to channel It is only necessary to set units to other channels if you
have several different users operating units in the same building. Set the
required channel by using a small screwdriver to turn the channel selector
switch, which is located towards the top of the battery compartment, to the
requi-red channel number. All transmitters and receivers must be set to the
same channel. Fig. setting the correct radio channel. Operation
Switching on the unit
Set the on/off switch to on. The RF blink lamp is now ready to operate. After the unit has been switched on, each of the indicator lamps lights up briefly in succession and the high-power light-emitting diode blinks several times. This forms part of a self-test of the unit and lets you know that it is functioning correctly.
Transmission signal detection
The RF blink lamp converts the various transmission signals into different
sequences of blinking and lamp signals.

Battery/rechargeable battery empty
If the »battery/rechargeable battery empty-display« lights up constantly, this
means that the battery or rechar-geable battery used is almost fully
discharged. A regular battery must be replaced or a rechargeable bat-tery
recharged.
The »battery/rechargeable battery empty-display« might flash briefly in the
flashing mode; this does not indi-cate that the battery is low.
Acoustic alarm
The acoustic alarm can be switched on or off using the on/off button.
Reset button
Press the reset button to acknowled-ge incoming signals. This will switch off
the flashing light and the acoustic signal.
Mains operation
You can also operate your RF blink lamp via the plug-in power supply unit. To
connect the PSU, insert the connector on the end of the PSU cable into the
corresponding socket on the left-hand side of the device. Then plug the power
supply unit into the normal 230 V socket in your house.
Recharging the A-2995-0 recharge- able battery
If there is a rechargeable battery in the RF blink lamp while the lamp is
plugged into a power supply, the bat-tery will be recharged.
The recharging cycle begins automa-tically. After 12 hours, the device will
switch to conservation charging. The device can remain plugged into the
regular power supply. The lisa devi-ce’s reception functions will continue to
operate while recharging is in pro-gress.
Module connector
AUX Underneath the device there is a connector marked “AUX” to which the
following modules can be connected:Retrieving the last signal
The RF blink lamp stores any signal it has received for approx. 3 minutes.
During this time, you can repeat the signal by pressing the reset button
again. The signal will then be indica-ted by the signal lights. The flashing
light and the acoustic signal will not be repeated.

Radio range
The radio signals are designed to have a range of 80 meters under opti-mum
conditions.
The following conditions may result in a reduced range:
-
Signal transmission through buil-ding structures or vegeta tion
-
Interference from TVs, computer monitors and mobile phones. Under certain circumstances, this may prevent the receiver from functioning at all.
-
Positioning of the transmitter at an unfavourable distance from surfa-ces which reflect radio waves, for example floors and walls.
This may lead to the signal wave being weakened or even cancelled out by the reflected wave. -
Metallic objects reduce the range due to the shielding effect of the metal.
-
Particularly in towns and cities, there may be many other sources of radio waves which can disrupt the original signal.
-
Having units operating at similar frequencies located close to one another may also result in mutual interference.
Maintenance and care
The RF blink lamp does not require any maintenance. If the unit does be -come
dirty, simply wipe it clean with a soft, damp cloth. Never use spirits,
thinners or other organic solvents. Do not set up the RF blink lamp where it
will be exposed to full sun-light for long periods. In addition, it must be
protected against excessive heat, moisture and severe mechanical shocks.
Note: This product is not protected against splash water. Do not place
any containers filled with water, such as flower vases, or anything with an
open flame, such as a lit candle, on or near the product.
Please make sure that the batteries are not exposed to excessive heat from
such as sunlight, fire or anything similar.
Warranty
The RF blink lamp is a very reliable product. Should a malfunction occur
despite the unit having been set up and operated correctly, please contact
your dealer or the manufacturer directly. This warranty covers the repair of
the product and returning it to you free of charge. It is recommended that you
send in the product in its original packaging, so keep the packaging for the
duration of the warranty period.
The warranty does not apply to dama-ge caused by incorrect handling or
attempts to repair the unit by people not authorized to do so (destruction of
the seal on the unit). Repairs will only be carried out under warranty if the
completed warranty card is returned accompanied by a copy of the dealer’s
invoice/till receipt. Always specify the product number in any event.
Disposal
of used electric and electronic units (applicable in the countries of the
European Union and other European countries with a separate collection
system). The symbol on the product or the packaging indicates that this
product is not to be handled as ordinary household waste but has to be
returned to a collecting point for the recycling of electric and electronic
units. You protect the environment and health of your fellow men by the
correct dis-posal of these products. Environment and health are endangered by
faculty disposal. Material recycling helps to reduce the consumption of raw
material. You will receive further information on the recycling of this pro-
duct from your local community, your communal disposal company or your local
dealer.
Rechargeable battery
The included rechargeable battery can be recycled. Please do not discard it
with regular household waste. Should the battery become unusable, please
dispose of it at council recycling sites or at a vendor offering spe-cial
battery disposal.
