Tabletop receiver

We would like to congratulate you on pur-chasing the modern and reliable »lisa RF« alerting system. Please read the user manu-al carefully for the proper use of the device and so that you can familiarise yourself with all the possibilities this system offers.

Scope of Delivery
Kindly check if all following parts are in-cluded:

  • lisa RF tabletop receiver
  • 4 rechargeable batteries size AAA
  • Power supply unit
  • User manual
  • Warranty card
Should any parts be missing, kindly contact your specialist dealer or the manufacturer directly.

How it works
A »lisa RF« alerting system consists of at least one transmitter (e.g. doorbell pushbutton) and a receiver. The tabletop receiver receives the event signals from various lisa RF transmitters and converts them into a visual display. It has an all-round illuminated area that draws attention to an incoming event signal and additional coloured indicators show the type of incoming event signal. Tones can also be activated on this receiver.

Safety instructions

  • Prior to putting the device into operation and using it, please read this manual thoroughly.
  • Keep this manual in a safe place so that it is also accessible for other users at any time.

Setup

Inserting the rechargeable batteries
The battery compartment is located on the underside. Press the latches of the battery compartment cover slightly to-wards the center of the bottom of the device and lift the cover off.

Setting the alerting mode
Using the mode selector switch (9) you can select the alerting mode. Please keep in mind that the event icons are always indicated.

  • switch to position 0: alerting tones, but no flash
  • switch to position 1: alerting tones and flash
  • switch to position 2: no alerting tones, flash only

Setting the volume
Use the rotating volume control to set the volume of the alerting tone.

Warning:
This device can generate sounds of up to 90 dB! In order to protect your hearing, please set a low volume to begin with and only then adjust it to the desired volume.

Event icons
When triggered, the event icons will remain visible for 40 seconds.

The icons symbolize:

Tones
There are different tones assigned to the symbols. They are activated when the signal selector switch (9) is in position 0 and 1. The volume can be adjusted with the rotary vol-ume control (7).

Status-LED
The receiver’s battery status is indicated as follows:

  • A sufficient battery charge level of the receiver is indicated by the status LED flashing every 5 to 6 seconds in red.
  • A low battery level of the receiver is in- dicated by the status LED flashing every two seconds in red. Please recharge the receiver as soon as possible (attach it to the power supply unit).

Behaviour of the status LED when the power supply unit is connected:
Charging the battery: The status indicator lights up red. The red light is interrupted for half a second every 6 seconds. Battery is charged and the unit is ready for operation: The status indicator lights up green. Every 6 seconds, the status indicator briefly lights up in red. No batteries inserted: The status indicator lights up with alternating green and orange.

Recalling the last alert, cancelling the current alert
The tabletop receiver stores an incoming signal for approx. 3 minutes. During this time, you can call it up again by pressing the function button »●« button to display the last registered alert again. You can also cancel an active indicated alert by pressing this button.

AUX-socket and power connector
The »AUX«-socket (8) and the connector for the power supply (10) can be found on the rear of the receiver. All Humantechnik modules can be connec-ted to the AUX output (vibrating pad, flash module, vibrating contraption etc, available as accessories). An indicated event will be forwarded to the connected modules which will then react accordingly. The power connector is used to power the receiver via the power supply unit. This is used to recharge the batteries, but it can remain connected for the continuous operation of the receiver.

Transmission range
The radio signals are designed to have a range of 80 meters under optimum condi-tions. The following conditions may result in a reduced range:

  • Signal transmission through building structures or vegetation
  • Interference from TVs, computer screens, and mobile phones. Under certain circum- stances, this may prevent the receiver from functioning at all.
  • Positioning of the transmitter at an unfavorable distance from surfaces that reflect radio waves, for example, floors and walls. This may lead to the signal wave being weakened or even canceled out by the reflected wave.
  • Metallic objects reduce the range due to the shielding effect of the metal.
  • Particularly in towns and cities, there may be many other sources of radio waves that can disrupt the original signal.
  • Having units operating at similar frequen- cies located close to one another may also result in mutual interference.

Setting the correct radio channel
A special digital transmission process en-sures that the radio signals are picked up without errors. This process also makes it possible to set 10 different radio channels. When supplied from the factory, all RF blink lamps are set to channel 0. It is only necessary to set units to other chan-nels if you have several different users ope-rating units in the same building. Set the required channel by using a small screwdriver to turn the channel selector switch, which is located towards the top of the battery compartment, to the required channel number. All transmitters and receivers must be set to the same channel!

Warnings for rechargeable batteries
Only use the specified NiMh-rechargeable battery type AAA (HR03) ! There is a risk of explosion if the wrong type of battery is used. The batteries must not be exposed to high or low extreme temperatures and low air pressure during use, storage or transport at high altitudes. Disposing of batteries in fires, ovens or mechanically crushing and cutting them can cause fires or explosions. Exposing batteries to extremely high temperatures may cause an explosion or leakage of flammable liquid or gas. Batteries exposed to extremely low air pres-sure may explode or emit flammable liquid or gas. Use only the original type of power supply with the alarm clock.

Troubleshooting and solutions

Symptom Cause Solution
The receiver does not work. The batteries may be inserted incorrectly.

Ensure the correct polarity of the rechargeable batteries!
 | The batteries are depleted.| Connect the receiver to the power supply.
 | The receiver is out of transmission range.| Try using the transmitter or receiver at a different location.
There is no alert tone.| Mode selector switch is on position 2| Check the position of the switch

(9) on the rear of the receiver.

 |  | Ensure that the volume is not set to the lowest setting. Rotate the control clockwise to turn up the volume
The transmission range is reduced.| Metal structures and other building materials can reduce the trans-

mission range.

| If possible do not mount the transmitter or receiver near or on metal parts.
 | Interference from other devices| Avoid setting up the »lisa« devices close to mobile phones and display screens.
 | Walls and ceilings reduce the range.| Reduce the distance between transmitters and receivers or try a different position for the devices.
 | Low battery charge reduces the range.| Charge the batteries by connecting the power supply unit.
