SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read the user instructions carefully before use.
Save them for future reference.
WARNING: Be careful, the blade is very sharp.

  • For household use only.
  • Never use the slicer for anything other than the purpose it was designed for.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience  and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
  • Never immerse the slicer, the power cord or the plug in water or any other liquid – risk of electric shock and/or material damage.
  • Do not use the slicer if it is damaged or not working properly, or if the power cord or plug are damaged. Take the slicer to an authorised service centre to be checked, repaired or adjusted.
  • Do not use the slicer outdoors.
  • Do not use the slicer if it not fully assembled.
  • Do not allow the power cord to hang over the edge of a table or worktop, or to come into contact with sharp edges or hot surfaces.
  • Do not pull the power cord to unplug the plug from the mains.
  • Do not use the slicer in damp conditions, or near water or any other liquid.
  • Do not place the slicer near the edge of a table or worktop, or where there is a risk of it falling down.
  • Do not use accessories other than those supplied with the slicer. The use of other accessories can result in fire, electric shock or personal injury.
  • Do not put the slicer on or near a hot stove, or in a hot oven.
  • Unplug the power cord when the slicer is not in use, and before replacing parts or cleaning.
  • Never wash the slicer or any of its parts in a dishwasher.
  • Do not use chemicals, steel wool, Scotchbrite or the like, which can damage the surface.
  • Never leave the slicer unattended when it is switched on.
  • The blade is very sharp. Never feed in food by hand – risk of serious personal injury.
  • Keep your hand on the handle during use. Never put your hands behind the slide.
  • Never use the slicer without the handle.
  • Avoid contact with moving parts.

USE

UNPACKING
NOTE: Keep plastic bags out of the reach of children – risk of suffocation.

  1. Put the pack on a level, stable surface. Take out the user instructions and any other documents.
  2. Put the pack on its side. Pull the slicer out of the pack.
  3. Remove the polystyrene. Carefully remove the slicer from the plastic bag.
  4. Carefully remove the protective covering from the blade. Save the packaging materials for future use.

SLICING
WARNING: Never use your hands to feed the food.
NOTE:

  • Do not run the slicer for more than 10 minutes at a time. Allow it to cool before using it again.
  • The slicer can slice most food, for example bread, meat or vegetables. Cheese and other similar food should be fridge chilled. Do not attempt to slice frozen food.
    1. The slicer needs to be placed on a stable, level surface.
    2. Check that the power switch is in the OFF position before plugging in the power cord.
    3. Set the required thickness with the knob.
    4. Put the food to be sliced on the slide, and lock in place with the plastic guard.
    5. Switch on the power switch.
    6. Hold the handle and move the slide smoothly backwards and forwards. Do not press too hard, this can affect the thickness of the slices.
    7. Check the thickness of the slices, and use the knob to adjust if necessary.
    8. Switch off the slicer and unplug the power cord after use. Clean all the parts immediately after use.

MAINTENANCE

NOTE:

  • Do not wash the slicer or any of its parts in a dishwasher.
  • Service must only be carried out by an authorised service centre.
    1. Unplug the power cord and turn the knob to 0 before cleaning.
    2. Tilt the slide away from the base to clean it.
    3. Release the blade by pressing the marker by the blade lock. Turn clockwise, lift and carefully remove the blade.
    4. Carefully clean the blade with hot water and washing-up liquid. Rinse and wipe dry.
    5. Fit the blade by aligning the tab to the drive wheel and pressing into place. Turn anticlockwise to lock in place.
