Product Usage Instructions:
Scenario 1: Connect Devices with and without Optical
Interfaces
For connecting an Ethernet device with optical interfaces to one without:
- Connect the FX interface of the Ethernet device with the Fiber cable to the Media Converter’s FX interface.
- Connect the TX interface of the Media Converter to the TX interface of the Ethernet device without optical interfaces using a Twisted-pair cable.

Q: How do I know which cable to use for connecting devices?
A: If one or both devices have optical interfaces, use Fiber optic cable. If
neither device has optical interfaces, use Twisted-pair cable for connections.
